I accidenty click on deny full control to the administrator of local disk D, I can change it somehow?

THX

Hello

Yes, you can change the permission settings on the drive that you want it to be.

To change the settings, try the following steps.
1. connect to the computer as an administrator.
2. right click on the drive, click Properties.
3. click the Security tab, click the Advanced button.
4. on the security settings advanced player window, click the button change under the permissions tab.
5. click on edit in a new window, and change the settings.
6 apply the settings, and then click ok.

You can also grant full access to the disk for all users. To do this, follow these steps.
1. connect to the computer as an administrator.
2. right click on the drive, click Properties.
3. click the Security tab, click the Advanced button.
4 click the effective permissions tab, click the Select button, type everyone and then click ok.
5. apply the settings, and then click ok.

Once the above steps are met, try to access the drive and check the result.

  • Accidentally set the permissions to deny (full control) to a partitioned drive

    Hello
    I admit, I made a huge mistake.

I accidentally set the permissions to "refuse (full control)" for a partitioned drive D:\.

In the tab titles of the D: drive when installing deny.
I had four groups of users listed in the permissions list: authenticated users, SYSTEM, administrator and user.

I'm sure I've hit on two of the four only: authenticated users and users.
SYSTEM and administrator should have been left with the permission to allow it. (This helps?)

In any case, you would know by now, I'm done with permission settings denied inadvertently on my partitioned D: drive and need some advice and help to reset this permission setting.

FYI, I tried to run "takeown /f D:" in the command prompt run as administrator, but it is "ERROR: access denied."
Also "icacls D:/grant administrator: F" returned "access is denied. Treated successfully, 0 files; Could not process files 1.

    Help!

This assumes that the only thing on the D: drive is given. Start the computer with a Linux Live CD/USB key and copy all data on D: on another hard drive (internal or external USB, it's not bad). Delete the partition with gparted while staying in Linux. So now that the drive is a white, gross dur.* shut down the computer and unplug it. Then boot into Windows. You should see the C:\ drive of course. Stop the computer again, then connect your new blank disc and boot into Windows. Use Control Panel > administrative tools > computer management > disk management to create a partition, format the drive and assign it a drive letter. I would like to use something other than D:. With luck, it could work to remove all the permissions on this drive. If so, then just copy your data where you saved using Linux on the 'new' drive Linux is not honoring the Windows permissions so that the data should not carry the old restrictions.

For the distribution of Linux, I prefer Knoppix, but many people also use Ubuntu.

    * I hope I've interpreted your original post correctly and you have two physical hard disks. You wrote 'drive partitioned D:\ ". "so it is ambiguous to me. If you really have that one disc physics on which you have created multiple partitions you can try to make meanings (with the exception of the bit of course disconnect). I don't know if it will work then, but at least you'll have your data in any news for when you reinstall Windows.

If you have installed * programs * on the D: drive then you can not do that and you have to reinstall Windows.

Let me know what is happening and good luck.

  • Is it possible to have full control for all users in the directory/files/registry?

Can I have a lot of control (read, write, change) my specific file / registry for all users, you have any program or script for this reason?

as 'cacls '. Because I can't use cacls.

    is it wrong?

    C:\>Cacls "program * Files\NETAS" / c/r users: «F»»»

Displays or modifies access control (ACL) of the files lists

    CACLS filename [/ t] [/ e] [/ c] [/G user: permission] [/R user [...]]
    [/P user: permission [...]] [/D user [...]]
    the ACL file name.
/ T changes ACLs of files specified in
the current directory and all its subdirectories.
/E Edit ACL instead of replace it.
/C continue on access denied errors.
/G user: permission Grant specified user access rights.
    Perm can be: R read
    W write
    C change (write)
    F full control
    ...

Perhaps you could elaborate a little bit on "this command is not running"...  What happens when you try?

I'm not knowledgeable about Windows 7, but Windows XP, I found the registry permissions must be put in a file.  So in your example, you can create a file named "z.txt", and in this file, you put the line:
    [1 5 7 17] \registry\Machine\Software
Then call you the command line:
    Regini z.txt

  • Windows 7 can not "see" the files on my external hard drive all of a sudden after I used ICACLS to give me full control.

I used ICACLS in a command prompt high to give me all permissions for all on the external hard drive. I do not share the disk or remove permissions from any other 'user' but all of a sudden the guest not to see the files on the disc and I don't know what to do about it. But when I open a window and go outside, the files are there, I can access it, use them in all cases, I would normally.

Anyone has an idea why an elevated command prompt would not be able to see the files that are clearly on the external hard drive? There is just something not right on command prompt, you see only not the files that are there.

    Thanks in advance

Update: it turns out that there seems to be some kind of conflict between the UAC and the Administrators group. Don't know how I was touched, but I finally finished refusing authorization in writing system on my external hard drive. Suddenly Builtin Administrator, users of Builtin and NT Authority stood, one of them, or another group, resumed training, locked read-only access to all files, and then he took it a little further and removed my ability to write attributes or read them. I was forced to use a back up 'Admin I have on standby with a third I reapplied my main administrator permissions, but still denied access. After doing things with ICACLS, I was able to get a partial control, but I still couldn't save.

At the end of the road, it turns out that an external hard drive formatted in NTFS is recognized by the computer as a disk fixed, as if it were part of the computer, and there it was treated as such, given my file system files by locking the.

Even with the hidden Builtin Administrator I activated, I couldn't access the files. I finally had to move all the girls to the drive c:\ and format the external drive with exFat so that the system do not think that he was part of the computer. Unfortunately, I can never depend on having a System Image backup because exFat cannot have a writing for her.

I have full access, as well as anyone and everyone, there is no permissions on exFat, so it's a compromise, better than the system for the control of my own computer ruined combat...

I don't know where it comes from, but there's a box full of what seems to be Firefox control icons to the right of my Google search box in the toolbar. On the bottom row, there is a like a clock and the other as 'Favorites', those who are white. By clicking on one of these things does nothing and if I double click on and click 'Customize', the whole box behaves as a single object, but I can't delete it.

I set the administrator with full access account. I added also a group of users with reading and only execute permissions, the administrator account is not within the group.

I try to add files through the mapped drive, but does not have my permission to create or copy files ("you have authorized to perform this action"). I can't that speculate that the problem is caused by the run as account on my desktop do not match those of the server? Any suggestions on fixing this problem?

  • Add control characters of the string without full control update

    Hello

I want to have a chain of control where the text has different colors (like DockLight fx).

What I CAN do now, writes a string with several lines to a control of the chain.

Then format each line in a different color.

But it fails so when I want to add a new text, with a new color.

When I update the chain control, all previous formatting is crushed, and all lines have the same color.

I want to be able to:

    Add string1 with blue color.

    Add string2 with green color

    Add string3 with red color

    etc.

    Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Take ownership and Grant full control to the "Right click" Admin options appearing suddenly

    Nice day

My organization has experienced a weird event from last week. Some of our remote workstations in our stores have begun to have the options of 'Take Ownership' and 'Admin 'total control' Grant become available when a click with the right button on files and folders on these workstations. Neither myself, nor the other employee IT made no changes to these machines in question. No new parameters, no new software, they are the Point of sale and are generally left alone. I did some research and can't find anything that may have caused this intentionally. Of course, our concern is the security of these machines, and whether or not they have been compromised. Analysis of the nature report various nothing. I saw that a registery cvhange can remove it, but I still need the source of change.

Get help maybe why this has happened to a few workstations would be very appreciated. I'm sorry if this question has been asked and more if its been answered. I spent some time digging around and can't find an answer. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. And do not hesitate to ask questions. They are WIndows 7 Pro machines with the latest updates.

  • Make a UDF unalterable and protected in writing

    Hello

I want to know how can I do a UDF image file write protected by going to advanced settings of file permission settings.

    How can I do?

This effect is to protect the files of a UDF protected writable and read-only as an Iso format.

If it is not possible, then is there a specialized software which can make it easier to cross-platform?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Answers.

Cannot add ISO files with any password based - no software what kind of security there is favourable. Anyway, here is the procedure to protect the file with the permissions of files:

Go to the properties of the ISO file. Go to the Security tab, and then click Advanced. In the Advanced Security dialog box, on the permissions tab, click the user name you want to block access to the file, and then click on change permissions. Yet once, a dialog box opens. Select the user name-> click on change. In the dialog box, tick / a tick deny full control. Click Ok-> click Ok-> click Ok-> click Ok. The file is now more secure.

Remember, file protection only works in NTFS file system. It will not work in FAT32 (most USB flash storage media is delivered with this file system only)
