Deploy the shared target rt variable fails (crio-9073)

I use a cRIO 9073 with LabVIEW 8.6. I have some variable published to my PC network I want the cRIO host read. However when I try to deploy the variables on the cRIO, I get the following error:

Initializing...
Calculating dependencies...
The checking for conflicts. This may take some time...
Prepare the items for download. This may take some time...
Variables variables.lvlib\\129.186.159.84\robot robot deployment deployment has failed (error:-2147220721, (Hex 0x8004030F) the configuration database cannot be opened, perhaps because of corruption.) Note: the steps that you did which led to this error and contact technical support).
Completed with errors of deployment

I tried to reinstall the software on the cRIO, which includes the network Variable 1.5.0 engine and tried hosting variables on the cRIO. I still get this error.

Everyone knows about this problem? What should I do to use variables shared on the 9073?

I tried stubborn MAX, who did not work. Then I reformatted the cRIO and the problem is solved.

  • Causing problems of custom data type to deploy the shared target RT variable

I seem to have some difficulty in using a shared variable published network created from a customized data type when it is deployed as an executable on a target of cRIO RT.  I'll start by describing why I think that this is the rub.  I created my RT VI in the LabVIEW (LV 2012) development environment and everything works fine.  This VI is quite simple, because these were quickly devolved into an exercise in debugging.  The RT VI begins by simply flashing the LED to a couple of times and then starts a loop simple acquisition to read some values out of the material using the analytical engine (while still flashing the LED of the user).  After reading the material, the values are grouped in a cluster and written in a shared variable published to the network defined by a custom control type def.  The custom control contains five floats double precision.  If it's important, the RT cRIO system hosts the shared variable in this case.

So I have that deploy in the development environment, and everything works fine.  The LED flashes merrily along, telling me that the program runs correctly.  Running a VI host who reads the shared network has published variable gives the desired result.  Everything is good.

Now, I want the cRIO system to run this simple program by itself at startup.  I build, set it as start VI, deploy it, and then restart the cRIO target.  The LED never flashing... the VI doesn't seem to work.  I'll spare you the major part of the work of debugging and access to the end.  I basically "diagram Disabled" various sections of the code up to the VI began to run correctly in an executable file.  I kept reducing the size of the disabled code until something has been disabled: the writing in the shared variable for the custom data type.

So, I guess my question is this: are custom data types defined by type def would be personalized orders authorized executables to RT?  I read through the cRIO Developers Guide, my book of development in real time course of NOR and the white paper using shared Variables and I see nothing that forbids it.  I know that there are things not allowed in the executable files that are allowed in the development environment (property nodes façade, dialogue live, operating system specific calls, etc.), but no mention of the shared variable type custom data.  Any ideas as to why my VI is running in the development environment, but does not update unless I have delete the entry on the published network variable shared?

Thank you in advance for your help!

You must disconnect the data types of variables and then recompile. You can find it useful to keep on disk, a copy of the original lvlib.

Don't know if this is a bug or not. It was suggested by someone in the forum that putting the ctl files in the right position (the disk? in the draft?) would allow the rtexe start; I did a quick check and it didn't work then I dropped the tests more far.

  • Deploy the shared library in WebLogic by EPCO

    Hello

I'm deploying in WebLogic 10.0 an EAR file as a shared library.

I am able to deploy using the server administration Console, but if I deploy the EAR by EPCO, the EAR is always deployed as an Application.

Is it possible to deploy with EPCO as shared library? I declare the EAR as a shared library in any file descriptor before?

    Thank you
    Carles.

If you save your shared library of the EAR in the preferences under WebLogic-> shared libraries then refer to this library in an application, EPCO will deploy the shared library when the listing application is deployed.

  • deploy the run-time engine

    Hello everyone,

I'm trying to deploy my application of teststand to a target computer. My teststand application uses: TestStand 2014 (32 bit), LV 2014 SP1 (32-bit).

Here's the problem I encounter while using the deployment tool.

    1. in the attempt to include RTE LV in my Installer, the deployment utility requires that I provided LV 2015 Installer. See the attached picture.

I wonder why she asked median LV-2015-64 bit Installer. If I ignore the request, the build process failed.

    2. I use the shared variable to communicate with the compactRIO controller. The compactRIO controller is hosting EVS. My question is,

    a. I have to "deploy" my variable library shared, even though my system is not an EVS?

    b. I read in the manual that I can deploy the variable Fanny shared through the LV utility deployed the lilbrary step. So I added this step in the test sequence. Whenever I run the sequence, this step deploys the shared variables. On the target, I wonder if it is necessary to deploy the shared variable on each run of the test sequence. I think it should only be deployed only once on the system target. Am I wrong? If so, how to remove this utility LV deploy step of the library of the test on the target sequence, since there is no development testbed on the target system.

    3. I use a database to record test results after each execution of test sequences. I can export the schema of the table data and copy it to the target computer. My question is, how to import the schema of the database in the target table, since there is no system development teststand on it (no way to call configure it-> result-> database to import the schema of the treatment table)?

I hope that teststand experts out there can give me some help tips to help me understand the whole deployment process. Thank you.

Welcome to the world of partially useful LabVIEW Error Messages (even if they usually Microsoft beat by a mile here).

What version of LabVIEW you run?  It is the only version that has been installed on your PC?  [The reason for seeking it is me and others, have experienced the installation, say, LabVIEW 2015 on a system that has already LabVIEW 2014, something that is "legal" and should work, but during the Installation, OR HHT are stop and restart not.]  [A single Service, necessary for the operation of shared Variables, is the Variable Service NOR].

In fact, while composing this Post, I went to my Services (because I wanted to be sure to specify the correct Service), to see that the Service is missing (again) and (again), the shared Variable engine isn't available.  Indeed, I get exactly the same error message.

So here's how I'm going to (try to) fix.  I will go to the Panel, programs and features, National Instruments and will repair LabVIEW 2015 (32 bit).  I expect this process to take about 30 minutes (if I'm lucky) - I'll post my results here...

  • new variable networked shared in my computer, but not in the shared variable engine list

I have a Variables.lvlib shared on a cRIO target and test algorithms when I don't have access to material cRIO. Thought I could do a new project, add the library to the windows target (workstation). I need to add a few additional variables, I did in the original (i.e., while the library was the target in real time). Then create a new project and added the lvlib to the project (under my computer), and then wrote a VI to write in these SVs. When I let fall a constant Variable Refnum shared on the block diagram and browse for objects variables under 'Variable' Motors > ni.var.psp > localhost > shared Variables, list of variables shows everything except the 6 new variables. When I switch the view 'Current project', I get the same variables for new list WITH THE 6. However if I select the variables in the list and run the VI I get an error-1950679035 impossible to locate the variable in the shared Variable engine. Of course, I forgot something, anyone out there set me straight?

Thanks for your time - lmd2

  • Deploying the cRIO controller host VI

When I include a Variable Shared Network-Published in my host VI, VI wants to deploy on my cRIO.  Without the shared Variable Network-Published, it runs on the host as planned.

Yes, the Sub host VI post work and VI RT is under the lens of the LabVIEW project.

How to use a shared variable in a VI to run on the host computer?  I need to pass data between my RT VI running on the cRIO and a host VI running on a Windows host.

    Hello Shall12,

I misinterpreted your posts original - this option should be changed to the target on which variables are deployed.  Based on your screenshot, the library is contained on the RIO and should be changed it.  The behavior you're seeing is described in more detail here:

  • Support of the shared Variables in the third part XP embedded based of PTC?

I sent a request in an embedded XP touch function (third party). The application works very well, but hosted on a RT (sbRIO Board) shared variables are not getting updated in the app on PTC

    1. the PTC is part of the project as a Windows XP Embedded Touch Panel

2 NI TPC Service has been installed on the PTC and the application can be deployed remotely from the PC development via ethernet. (Where network connections and communications are OK)

    3. using distributed in the development computer systems manager, I can see that the shared variables are getting updates on the network

I think that the problem can be solved if the following programs are installed on the TPC

    A. Support for variables that are shared for XPembedded

    B. shared Variable engine

I tried to install the support of variables shared Program Files > National Instruments > Labview 8.6 > PDA > utilities > Variables > x 86 - but I get an installation error "cannot find the application for the Pocket PC applications Manager.

Shared variable engine was installed from the ve220 folder. The program is installing. But the engine Variable is not start Control Panel > administrative tools > Services, Xpe, the service is stopped and cannot be started. When I try to start the service, I get the following error on PTC

"Cannot start Service engine of National Instruments Variable on the local computer."

Error 1053. Service has failed to demand launch or timely control.

Please suggest solutions to the addresses above or another of the following:

    1. support of variables shared for XP built-in PTC

    2 Installer engine Variable shared.

    Thank you

    Krish

    Problem solved!

Update for interested people working on XP Embedded PTC

Just to ensure that shared Variables were indeed accessible to the TPC, I wanted to install Distributed Systems Manager 8.6 on the TPC. However given that the TPC was only 1 GB of DOM (disk on memory) and with all the software that I had tried, there remained only a few megabytes on the system. I had to add an another DOM of 2 GB.

All products in the Installation went well, with the exception of the Logos NOR (Version 5.0). Logos OR installation has failed repeatedly.  I tried to install NI Logos separately, with the same results. Then I had this intuition that NI Logos had anything to do with the question.

Then, I downloaded the new version of NI DSM 2009 SP1. Even if it were to settle on any fresh system without Labview, the installation would not proceed beyond the stage of configuration. I tried to install NI Logos of the folder on the download of new products separately and it worked magically!

Once the new Logos (Ver 5.5) installed, the Shared Variable engine starts automatically and the shared Variables are finally unleashed - free stand up and shine! I thank Almighty God!

On the lighter side, come to think of it - to run an application about 400 KB, we need NEITHER of Run Time, XP embedded, DSM, Logos...  (around 900 MB). Can make us everything simpler?  Invite your comments...

    Thank you

    Krish

  • TPC-2012 cannot read the shared variable

    Hello

I have a TPC-2012 and can not read variables shared with him. I welcomed the shared on a cRio-controller Variable. On another PC, the variable is read correctly, but not on the tpc-2012. What can I do? No error message is displayed on the TPC-2012 (Windows CE 5). The PTC can not write values in a shared Variable.

    Thank you

    Christian

What LabVEIW Touch Panel version do you use? I don't know why static variables do not work correctly on your device. TPC-2012 comes with support preinstalled for shared variables, and it would be possible that it has been deleted or corrupted. Here are some steps you can follow:

Install the Support of shared Variables
How do we install the Support of Variables shared on the TPC-2012?

  • Call to a shared library a VI on a target NI Linux RT (cRIO 9068)

Hi, I wrote a very small shared library (.so) with Eclipse (toolchain 2014), which essentially serves as a wrapper for more complex, but I am having problems with the call go to in LabVIEW RT on a target Linux RT - specifically, the cRIO 9068. First: the library was copied in/usr/lib and ldconfig has been correctly implemented. More important yet, I have also written a C program (using Eclipse as well) that calls the single function currently implemented in the shared library: this works perfectly, both in Eclipse and you connecting directly on the cRIO with a Putty terminal. So I guess the shared library itself is ok and can be called from code/external programs. Now, dating back to LabVIEW (2014 here btw). Here's where things get difficult, I guess. Initially, I had the symptoms listed here--> http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/How-to-create-a-c-shared-library-so-for-linux-real-time-for/td-p/302... who prevented me from actually run any code on the target of RT. Then I changed the call library function node: various tutorials suggest to put name_of_library.* in the path text box or the name of library, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work, so I had to put the name and the extension too. But it still produces the error below ("the name of the function is not found" etc.) So I check the box 'specify path on diagram' and add/usr/lib as a parameter to the node library function call: now the VI can work and is actually transferred to the target of the RT... but the cluster of output error returns error 7, which is a kind of "File not found" error. However, I believe that this error message is misleading: indeed, if I try to debug remotely this library shared under Eclipse, I am actually able to pause it. and when I press the Pause button on the debugger, the goal of RT VI pauses, then continues as soon as I press the Resume button, I'm stuck... I tried searching forums and Google as well, but I have not yet found a solution. Any ideas on what's going on? Moreover, I can add more details if needed.

Problem solved, it was a bad configuration of the node library function call which prevented the actual library (.so) to be called.

  • Deploy shared in localhost Variable engine

I need to talk to several RTs using the same computer. It seems
easy to deploy shared variable engine (library) in localhost instead of
RT. However, the problem is the shared variables (read) used in localhost screws
are not updated to RTs. But when I use a different local VI to update
the shared variable, it works fine. The variable path of the RT
    as "\\My Computer\Local NPSVlvlib\Test
Data '. I think that this is the problem, why the values are not updated
because the RT cannot resolve the path network ("\\My
("Computer\Local NPSVlvlib\Test Data"). Also, I tried to change the shared
variable path in the CR, but I couldn't do it. Need help!

I think I found the problem. Firewall was the culprit. I disabled the firewall and it started working like charm.

I tried an another new database created with LabVIEW 2015, without going. I tried to disable the Windows Firewall as suggested in a similar position (http://forums.ni.com/t5/Automotive-and-Embedded-Networks/Unable-to-deploy-NI-XNET-Database-to-RT-Tar...), but that no longer works.
