Deployment of HP printers via Group Policy preferences

At work, I run an environment with about 120 computers Windows 7, 2 HP LaserJet printers and a Windows 2008 Server.  By using Group Policy preferences to deploy computers printers I'm having problems with excruciatingly long first connections.  The computer will sit for minutes at the stadium where he applies the policy of the political group printers.

I tried the drivers specific to the model provided by HP for my printers (LaserJet 2430 and LaserJet P3005) and the universal print driver.  Installation of printer drivers adds about 2 minutes on each printer.  This excruciatingly slow kind of performance is not acceptable.  I've seen other posts of people with similar problems but no real solutions.  What is the answer of HP?

I've always loved and bought HP printers for work and home, but this problem makes me rethink for the future.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I just posted this question in the works councils at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Software/Deploying-HP-Printers-via-Group-Policy-Preferences-is-very-slow/td-p/6248163#.UmptXPnjZ8E.

  • How can I access full administrator for some printers via Group Policy?

Original title: give users full rights to printers

First of all, I would like to a GPO that will allow all of our users to be able to add, remove, install drivers, etc for all printers on their local computers without being a local administrator.  We have many users who need to manage printers on a daily basis and it becomes more frustrating that the strategies used to provide this access in XP does not seem to be the same in Windows 7.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Application deployment using Group Policy preferences

I managed to create an Adobe Reader 10 thinapp. I also created a group policy preference in assigning it to the same group of security assigned to the thinapp AD security group. I created a test user that is assigned to the same group of security, and when I connect as long as that user, the shortcut does not appear on the desktop as it is set up to do in the GPP. When I open Windows Explorer, I can browse to the network share, double-click the executable, and the thinapp works beautifully. I did have a success find out why the PPM is not send the shortcut to the desktop. Maybe this isn't the place to ask this question as the application itself works properly, but I was hoping that maybe someone else had this experience too. Thank you.

I would like to know how to set up a personalized message for the prevention of the installation of the software via group policy in windows server 2012 R2.

I released some software in my field to a distribution point and I of installation for few of them software restriction policies. But I don't want the default next message below:

"The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." This installation is forbidden by system policy. Contact your system administrator. »

Instead, I would like to set up a custom message. Please tell us how can I do same by using Group Policy, if not available, what are the alternatives that I can use.

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

  • Last feature via Group Policy user logon

I understand how to turn off the last user logon feature is via group policy if I wanted users to always have to type their user name and passwords by logging into Windows XP or Windows 7 workstations.
What I really want to do if I can, is to allow the possibility for the user assigned to the specific workstation to always display their username when they sign in, but if I connect the SysAdmin, I don't want them to see this.
So, if I work on their workstations, then logoff or restart, I want for their username to remember and displays not only mine.
Is there a way to do this?

  • Drive deployment via Group Policy

    Hello

I asked and got a license deployment and I try to follow the instructions for deploying the player via the group policy on computers on my network.

Gives it to adobe document that you said to put the name of the computer under security filtering in the GP OR that was created.  I did, but it is clear that the policy does not apply.

When I run the result of group strategy, it's not even show so I must have something wrong.  The adobe document gives several images has its place and is on a text (at least when I display - and yes I use the most recent version of the player).

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Allen

Yes, if you apply it to your default domain policy, and then all the computers in your domain will receive the GPO, as long as you have the security filtering set to authenticated users.

This should not be a problem if all the PC's on your workplace will not have issues running Adobe Reader version 9.  Some older PC can not work properly when using Reader 9.

The GPO will process only when necessary.  After that it is placed, it will not install again, unless:

-force you a relocation option to redeploy to the strategy of software installation of the GPO said.

-user UN - install Adobe Reader, if they are able to do

  • Deployment to contribute via Group Policy

I tried to deploy contribute via MS Win 2003 Group Policy, but have had no luck. Anyone could push the software successfully, so yes, you used the software install or did you use a script? How did you deal with the seizure of Contribute serial number? Ideally, we would like to create a silent install, but again, have had very little luck and there is very little information available.

    Any help is appreciated.

Someone in another post reminded me that document. http://www.Adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=a4175402 The only drawback is that you must set a lot to copy your ContributeConfiguration items in the installation folder. I think Adobe could do a better job on the deployment side.

  • 21.0.0.213 deployment via Group Policy

I am updating from 21.0.0.182 to 21.0.0.213 through Group Policy active directory.

Now when I applied and verify the computer in IE11 that has the applied GPO. It is said

    flash 1.PNG

    It still says 21.0.0.182

The file I download it from is Flash Player Distribution of Adobe that they sent me by email after the application of the licence.
    flash 2.PNG

I chose the first option as an MSI installer.

Now, to confirm that it wasn't a problem with my Active Directory Group Policy object, I tried to launch the MSI installer by himself without GPOS by simply launching the MSI file and I get this error:

    flash 3.PNG

This confirms that the problem is with the Installer MSI itself.

So I don't know if Adobe has sent me the wrong file or I install the wrong file MSI. This is for Windows 8.1 IE11.

    Help, please!

Windows 8.1 that I believe has Adobe Flash player built into the operating system, and try to install the version of Adobe will not work. You have to wait for Microsoft to do the update for the device.
