DeskJet 2540: Deskjet 2540 print and Scan works on Windows 10

I have installled, uninstalled and reinstalled the software half a dozen times now, on my Windows 10 machine, but I still don't have any interface to scan documents.

The installation process has shown a success install and I was able to recognize and connect to the printer. In my Start menu, the new option 'Scan & Print' is there, as shown in the screenshot (click on the screenshot to the size of the full image).

But when I click on the option, instead of the usual analysis and the dialog box print, I am faced with a new printer 'Connect' and 'Add more software' options (see screenshot below).

How can I get to the good old scan dialog box?

Among others, I used to have an option here to scan directly to PDF. This option is not accessible from anywhere on the machine and is something I desperately need to back.

Has it been removed from version 10 of Windows? I ran a search for "Scan" computer, but the only options I get are native Windows analysis (which works very well for the individual photos) and this dialog box. Nothing that would allow me to scan a document of several pages in PDF format

  • Canon BJC-50 printer and scanner work with Windows 7?

I have a printer Canon BJC-50 with the cartridge scanner.  I ordered a USB to parallel cable adapter must be able to connect to my laptop, because I do not have a parallel port.  The Windows 7 compatibility page says that this printer is compatible with Windows 7.  Canon said that it is not.

Has anyone successfully connected and used a Canon BJC-50 with Windows 7?  If so, were there any problems?

HI - same issue with Canon BJC-80. Says Windows is compatible and Cannon did not write! My BJC-80 prints OK with a USB/parallel cable and install via Windows 7 OK - but printer response time is in minutes to hit a comand "Print" in any program, for example. MS Word 2010?

Suppose that we are victims of the creep of technology and need to buy a new printer - shame I have heaps of cartridges left!

  • Can someone tell me what software to use to print and scan from my MacBook pro

I have Mac OSX Mountain Lion and I am trying to print and scan my 5510 Photosmartt wireless. I tried to use the full suite of HP and Apple software for the printer. The HP software does not find my printer on my network only when it is connected through USB. I used the option "wireless via USB" when I installed the software, but the process never went through a process of Wi - Fi as soon as I unplugged the USB cable it was impossible to find the printer. I also tried to add a printer manually using the host name of Bonjour that works but loses connectivity on occasions, but I am then unable to use the extras like the Apps that come with the HP software.

I have an iPad which I can connect using HP Printer Control app but I was under the impression with the last update Apple what airprint totheirs device should work without the need for an application.

I read all the advice of experts in many forums like this one and have tried everything, but I was unable to connect to my network without problem. I can scan, eprint printers EWS etc so I must be connected to the router and the Internet, so I really don't understand why I'm having these annoying problem. I know that I am not alone so concerned manufacturers should get it sorted and soon.

I should also mention that I have a laptop win7 I have installed on the same netwrk and had printing and scanning works very quickly without any problem of connection at all.

I'll be very happy to receive a solution from an expert very soon.

Your suggestion is exactly how I installed the printer before but still had problems of connectivity with my MacBook. However I seem to have found the solution and it's, once the printer and MacBook on the same network I put then a static IP by allowing the software page to recommend a static address. Previously, I had chosen the static address manually by following the instructions provided.

The difference now is that when I look at my page of router software the printer is more listed under DHCP DEVICE INFO, but I am still able to find the printers web page by inserting its ip address into Safari, as well as the EWS page

This seems really healed my problems. Thanks for all your help.

  • HP Deskjet 8500 has all-in-one: printer printing and scanning in black

Printed OK yesterday. Today it is printing full black pages, on black settings and color.  Also the complete black page scan.  Has been at rest - not off.

    Hello!
Welcome to the HP community @ebe7fos,

I read on how your prints and scans are now completely black when you use your Officejet 8500 printer and wanted to drop to help. Try the steps and answer all the following questions please and responds with the result, and we can go from there if necessary.

Reset the printer and make sure it is plugged directly into a wall jack, avoiding the power and surge protectors toolbars:

With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

    1. How the printer is connected (USB / wireless / wired / Bluetooth)?
    2. Did you test functionality of the hardware (made copies) and they work successfully?
    3. Have you tried printing from different programs?
    4. Have you tried to uninstall and reinstall the software?
    5. Run the print and Scan Doctor and understand the results.
    6. Have you made recent changes to your establishment (moving, upgrade, downgrade, new software, new router, etc.)?
    7. Have you tried using a different USB/Ethernet cable?
    8. You see messages of error codes and if so, what they say and where do you see them?

If you have trouble, let me know and I'll do my best to help.

  • envy4500: envy4500 print and Scan Doctor 4.9 has stopped working

The deleted files on laptop for free space, must have deleted something important, like the printer does not work well.

Tried to uninstall the software and then remove device.   Inserted the CD, then reinstalled.  I can print with USB cable.

Print and scan doctor 4.9 ceases to work, so have difficulties to find what the problem is.   Any suggestions?

Thank you. This was my first post to a forum and I am glad for a quick response.

I ended up uninstalling programs printer, restart, then deleted the printer device, restart, then goes on HP site and download software and implementation.

Always impossible to use printing and scanning doctor. Same message as it closes. Hope that I won't need it. Don't know what the problem is with the diagnosis. Will retain the option of restoration in mind.

I can print with USB and wireless, so I guess I'm ok now.

  • Want 7640: Must be able to use the print and scan doctor for each print job to get printing to work

After works without any problem for several months, the printer now shows an error message whenever I try to print. I have to run the doctor print and scan so that the printer to function. The first time this has happened, he told me I have to uninstall and reinstall the program, I did. Since then, only the works of doctor print and scan running, but he running for each print job is not acceptable!

    Hi @Doug18,

Thank you for joining the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to print, except if you first run the PSDR. I'd be happy to see this with you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand that you have received the order to uninstall and reinstall the software that you have. When you now run the PSDR, she says you? I need to know the results (of the error messages, patches, etc.)?

In the meantime, try the steps in these guides:

  • print and scan the doctor does not

    Hello

My printer is hp deskjet hp990cxi

I have upgraded to windows 10 so now using the windows driver. I tried to use print and scan of the doctor. Search printer but can't find ink levels using ink supplys comes up with the message not connected or not installed, but it has already found. I tried fix impression happens but with error on the status of the device: cleaning of cartridge (message). Access printer services, but all of the grayed out icons. If I ignore the status of device failure and try to test page it prints the test page no problem so why don't the other options work.

    concerning

It would be the only way I found to get the printer to print without depending on the software on a Windows PC. The only other way to view ink levels effectively would be to connect the printer to a Windows XP computer.

  • HP Deskjet 2512 Director does not work on Windows 7? Is there a solution?

HP Deskjet 2512 Director does not work on Windows 7? Is there a solution? Everything that happens is two pages of text, open, but no Director. I downloaded and installed the latest version of the software full version DJ2510_1313. No help for it?

    Hi DJ2512,

I understand that you have a Deskjet 2512 which is not able to open the Printer Wizard, it opens to text pages. I'm sorry to hear that, but I'll certainly do my best to help you!

From what you described, it seems that your printer wizard opens to a page of the Notepad. I suggest you follow this document Opens Assistant HP printer with an error in Script or in Notepad to get the problem resolved.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

  • HP Officejet 8600 more print and scan problems

    Hello

I had my HP officejet 8600 more for 2-3 years and always had problems following and just kept reinstalling the drivers as a quick fix. I am now starting a business from home and I have no time to deal with printing and scanning the questions and, of course, my warranty has expired! My operating system is OS X version 10.9.4.

When I scan to my computer, the printer indicates "not found computer." The status of my mac is no different than when I scanned a document a few days ago! Remove and reinstall the drivers solves this problem temporarily but I want it fixed permanently.

In addition, when printing, sometimes a page can print immediately and at other times, it may take 5-10 minutes to print even if its status is 100% full in the print queue - even once, reinstall the drivers is a quick fix but I want a permanent solution.

Any help to solve these problems would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much...

    Hello Hello!

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8710: HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 print do not tried HP Print and Scan Doctor

    Hello HP Forum,

I'm new and have read many articles on printing does not. I had this printer yesterday and I was so excited to use it! When came home... DOH! Nothing prints not! So, I used the print and Scan doctor and that fixed it... temporarily. Now it won't print and print and scan doctor said nothing! I printed something this morning, but I saw a mistake, then I went to print it again, nothing would have uttered. I'm getting a little angry that I (May) have lost $170 on this thing.

I could really use some help please! If not, I just lost $170 on this thing.

My system is Windows 10 1511 Pro 64 - Bit, and the printer is USB connected.

    Thanks in advance,

    HPOJPro8710

Edit: I just tried printing HP and Scan Doctor 4.9 once again, now it works again. But this will not last forever, I need a permanent solution.

Edit 2: I forgot to add that I intend to leave it on all the time. It is good to do? Causing my problems?  My grandparents have their HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 24/7 for I don't know how many years! haha and they have no problem!

I got a HP OfficeJet 4630 USB connected, and I turned off each time and printed correctly. Only had to fix once with HP print and Scan doctor.

Hi, seems that your computer is powered off the USB ports to save energy.
    Check in the Device Manager.
    Check under USB controllers.
    Check all USB hub root.

Select power management and ensure that:

Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is DISABLED.

Use a USB cable of good quality, not more than 6 feet long.

Connect the 8710 directly to a power outlet wall.

  • DJ3070 B611a: print and scan the doctor

my printer HP DJ3070 B611a just stopped to connect to my network home. Windows Help (7/64) has not solved, so excited printing HP and doctor Scan. Upgrade of downloaded software, which gave (after download, install, a lot of time) gave an installation error that has not explained. Somewhere on this site I found that I had to uninstall the old software before installing upgrades. question 1: why P & S doctor can only him before the upgrade? Many programs can and do. Or at least: tell me to do.

After that I discovered, I followed the instructions (very many steps and options) on the removal of the old software, any software called HP..., but it did not work. I tried to install the upgrade, but not over and over again. Would take a lot of time, because doctor & pajaud (> 50 MB) checks, downloads and try to install again, although he's done before. 2nd question: why he doesn't download / upgrade is already there?

Therefore, no connection to my home network. After connection with a cable my laptop seems to recognize the printer again, although it does not show on the printers screen in Windows. And to be printed, but not for scanning.

question 3: If, for the print connection is ok, what can be wrong with scanning (and why is this not the same connection)?

So beware before you use the doctor: it does not help you and does not explain or for me does not clearly what he wants me to or exactly where to look.

Is do not support my first experience with HP software problems, stable and updates: far from average. Disappointing for a leader in the software.

    Hi HermPack,

Thank you very much for your answers!

The name of the software of the doctor & pajaud, according to me, is HPPSdr.exe. In the meantime, to continue troubleshooting, please try the following steps in the following order:

Then run the HP print and Scan Doctor, once more to check that everything works.

I hope that these measures are useful!
