Welcome to the HP community @273frustrated,.

I understand that your 3520 Deskjet is no copy making more correctly however, you can print and scan without a problem. I will do my best to help! I might be far away but I suspect that there could be a problem with the printhead and it printing black ink. I say this because when you print from your computer, normally the ink colors mix to create a composite black, and when you print copies, it's only the black ink cartridge that is used.

I want you to try a power reset and make sure that the printer is plugged directly into the wall, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on.

    Turn on the printer.
With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

I have a Deskjet 3520 eAIO (wireless). Print labels Avery fine on other printers, but when I try to print them on the 3520, it seems to start to give the sheet of labels too early which means printing from more down the page (about 1/2 "") as it should. My 8 + yr old Canon print all types of avery labels with no problem, but he just finally bit the dust and I'm stuck.

Some of the software is in Program Files, while the others are in Program Files (x 86).

You have any suggestions on how to operate the HPScan?

    Hi @Barrry

    A few ideas come to mind. It seems that the question has something to do with the software. Let's first run the printer Installation Wizard because it could detect that something is missing and help to fill the gaps;

Click here to download and run the HP printer install wizard for Windows

If the problem persists, running the print and Scan doctor could help. Printing HP and doctor Scan is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly solve common printing, scanning and connectivity problems, including but not limited to:

    • Device online: check if the product has been suspended or put in offline and then sets the State back in line if necessary.

    • Print queue: checks and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a newspaper for printing waiting to print).

    • Port Match: check the port settings for the HP product.

    • Device conflicts: check the conflicts with other drivers, such as the other brands of printers.

    • Ink issues: check the cartridges and the ink levels for issues that affect the print quality.

    • Print settings: check and adjust the print quality settings.

    • Scan tests: check the scanning mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

If this does not resolve the problem, after back and let me know if there are all the symbols except the Green checkmarks and what they are next of course. The key is not always easy to identify the key and check mart are in the green circle.

    • If you see only the Green checkmarks (), the tool did not find any problem.

    • If you see green sides (), the utility identified a problem and fix it automatically.

  • If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and requires monitoring of the user, but the step was ignored.

  • If you see a red X (), follow the onscreen instructions to fix the problem.

  • I can't wait to hear back on your part.

  • DeskJet 3520 - print Invitations

I use a HP Deskjet 3520 on a Windows 7 PC. I am currently trying to print an invitation 5.5 "x 8.5" on Word 2010 and little matter the customizations that I try to do through word itself or the properties of the printer, the output prints still on the right side. Anyone know how to fix this?

Don't forget that my printer load paper of smaller size to the center of the status bar rather than the left or right. Any help would be appreciated... !

Daniel, from what you describe, you try printer 5.5 * 8.5 paper, however, the printer is not properly align printing with paper that you use. Is this correct?

First of all, I want to note that after checking the product specifications (link below) that the printer you have does not have 5.5 * 8.5 paper listed as some supported paper sizes (check under management specifications of the paper).

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03274848

Now, beyond that, after the centering of paper in the paper in the printer tray, you've been through both the program that you are using to print and the printer preferences (usually listed as 'Préférences' or 'Printer Preferences' in the print window) to make sure that you use paper size has been designated? The information must match both of what the computer sends and the printer expects to receive.

  • DeskJet 3520: Question of an another DeskJet 3520 print after changing the ink

Well, I'm another person with a POS deskjet 3520 which ceased print just black ink because I had the audacity to change a new cartridge. I've read at least 4 other threads full of posters with this problem extending over 1 1/2 years. I tried all the 'solutions' that HP experts say to try and not one worked. The printer is 1 month out of warranty now. I tried cleaning the contacts and updated the firmware and bought a second cartridge new, just in case the first was defective. HP really has need of man up and admit they have a problem with this model and fix.

As it comes a 3520 model, you must call phone HP support, even if it is out of warranty. See the post for more details

    Hello Barrry,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I am pleased to learn that your ePrint printing works fine for you, in what concerns the impression that the body of an email when an attachment is present, it is not possible in the ePrint settings.

You can, however, send the Email to the Email address of the printer and select without attachment. I checked and this feature is available with most devices (iPhones, Android Smartphones, etc.), however, I don't have a Kindle HD to try with.

The fiber has nothing to do with the printing of your network. It's a totally different connection. First of all, I could check the software and see if the printer still works correctly. Maybe it's having a connection problem with the driver software. Uninstall and reinstall the software/driver?

  • HP Deskjet D2400 - printing emails

Printed 'only' the first page of all my emails.  I can't print the second page, and it will not display even when I go to preview before printing.

Also, I want only the e-mail message itself printed, but it prints all the junk on the left and right sides.

I tried portrait and landscape, prints of different size and always impossible to print the entire E-mail message.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

You will not be able to cut the "junk" left and right e-mail, unless you just copy and past the email itself and paste it into MS WORD or NOTEPAD.

Try to download the 990 c driver and see if that helps, you print 2 pages.
    1. click on Start menu
    2. choose the devices and printers
    3. click on add a PRINTER
    4. Select LOCAL PRINTER
    5. choose USE EXISTING PORTS (select the port to which the printer is turned on)
    6. another window will open. (column - left choose HP) (right column - choose DESKJET 990c)

If you do not see the 990c, click WINDOWS UPDATE, and then go find it.

After downloading the drivers, try to print from email and see if you get the same results.

  • Failure 0 x 61000031 for HP Deskjet 3520 printer?

I'll put up my HP Deskject 3520 for the first time. Configuration information that I indicate that I am supposed to connect the HP printer, install the print cartridges and then turn it on. The printer display reads "printer failure 0 x 61000031 ' there is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn the printer off, then on. If you continue to receive this message, contact HP.

I tried to turn the printer off and turning back on it (both connected to the computer with a USB cable and not). I always get the error message. The printer gives me even the screen to try a print test, calibrate, cartridges etc. When I try to lift the lid to check the cartridges, the printer indicates that the ink cartridge door is open, but it does not move the cartridges where I can take a peak at them. I just bought this printer today. Am I right in thinking that I should just take it back to the store and exchange for a new one?

Given that the error occurs regardless of whether the USB cable is connected to my computer and that I myself never even at the stage where I could wireless configuration, I kind of doubt that it is important what operating system I use. However, if it's important, I use 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium with Service Pack 1.

    Hi polkadotorchid,

The error is caused by the mechanism of cartridge which is stuck to its original position.

Is it possible to manually move this mech postiion home cartridge toward the center of your printer?

If you are unable to move freely, you will need to call our technical support at the 800-474-6836. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region please click the link below to get help from your region number.
