DeskJet 3845: Where'smy printer gone?

My 3845 printer works OK but need the black cartridge has changed.   I put in a new, but with the printer does not respond so I replaced the cartridge with an another new cartridge.   All I get is the Green LED flashes (or turn it off completely).  The integrated test system does not either.   I checked all the cables, they are OK, but even HP Support Assistant now can't find the printer.  I even tried to reinstall it, but in vain.   No error messages have not shown at any time.   Where should I go from here?

In a final stand this morning, I turned on my p/c and inserted a third and my last, new tape in my printer.   Blow me down, it turns!   I tried to replace the previous two tapes, but none of them work to return to #3.   However, at least I have a printer working again at the price of one-for-the-price-of-three cassettes.   Oh, well, that's life I guess.   But thanks for all your interest and tries to advise.   Very grateful.

I just changed the ink on my HP Deskjet 3845 printer cartridges and now it started printing everything in purple. Before changing the cartridge, the colors were very good. I tried the contact on the cleaning cartridges and that did not help. There is no error message. I tried to put the old black cartridge in to test it, and even though it was really faded, it was printing in black. Color ink seems to work very well I printed a test page and the colors are out. I also tried to print that a document without any ink color in and a blank page came out. The problem must be something to do with the black ink cartridge, but I don't know what it is or what to do!

    Hi paterson14,

Is the cartridge OEM new or revised?

This cartridge is defective. You have to buy another cartridge installed in the printer. Let me know what you find?

  • DeskJet 3845 prints blank pages

I got the Deskjet 3845 printer for 6 years and I have not used for 1.5 years. I tried to get going again and every time I try to print, it prints blank pages. I just bought a new black ink cartridge and I removed the light orange Ribbon. I have Windows 8 and it's an old printer, so I don't know if it's a compatibility issue. I used printing HP and doctor scan and it said my printer was ok. However, when I printed a test page, it was empty. I'm totally stumped and I appreciate any help!

    All the best,

    Kyle

I'm sorry you have a problem with the printing of blank pages. It seems you have the problem of material with the cartridges or the printhead. More he to sit upwards and not in use, the cartridges and printheads can dry out.

Here is a link that can help you with this problem.

  • "Printer: door open" error on HP Deskjet 3845

The green light on my HP Deskjet 3845 printer continues to blink.  Whenever I try to print something, even a test page, the error message says "printer: open door."  However, I checked several times and there is no open door!

I am on Windows 7 (64-bit) and I'm on with a jetpack from verizon wireless.

    I'd appreciate any help!

    Thank you!

Generally when this starts to happen, it is because the door sensor went out. There is only a reset you can do to try and clear the error and it is a hard reset. I will include the instructions below. If this does not work, you will need to replace the printer.

    To do a hard reset:
    1. make sure that the printer is turned on.
    2. pull on the power cord from the printer.
    3. pull out the power cord from the wall.
    4. wait for 30 seconds.
    5. plug in the printer and turn it on.

  • DeskJet 3845 Windows 7 drivers

I have a new Win7 machine and cannot load drivers for my DeskJet 3845.  I looked through the discussion forums and of course have tried this link http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01874792

Other people seem to have been able to solve this problem with this printer out of previous discussions.  However, they did not work for me and I called HP support and they told me that it is no longer a driver available for this printer for Win7.  Can someone please verify this for me?  Or preferably, tell me where I can find the driver?  Thank you

Yes, the 990c driver will work with your 3845. If you get this error message, it is something wrong with your WINDOWS. Try to restart the computer and repeat the steps.

Also, there is no direct download for it.

  • Seeing flashing deskjet 3845.

I had the problem, no more. Open the hood before, wait for the stay of the cartridge in the Center, turn off the printer, close the lid and the problem will be gone. This is the kind of reset or it is but works.

  • DeskJet 3845 trouble

My DeskJet 3845 has stopped working.   When you try to print, I get a message... "is in error state".   I replaced the color and the blackcartidges but without result.   Ditto with the re-boot and remove and then reinstall the device.   My devices of the record shows that I'm now on (copy 3) well that no one else will appear and Ctrl-P prints a page showing a choice of 4 HP 3845 printer (0 to 3), including any print and #3 giving the "... is in an error state" message. "   What can I do to activate things correctly?   When it runs, it gave good results, but not now.

    Hi @BrianJoyce,

I am very pleased to learn that I was able to help you resolve the problem with the printer.

When the printer is already installed and add you it back the computer, it creates copies.

  • DeskJet 3845

My Deskjet 3845 printer works well but I need help to get the right sequence of commands to use to print a booklet.   The book is in Publisher and goes up to 52 pages A5.   I want the result to be a book of 13 sheets of A4 size paper that folds into an A5 booklet.   Can guide you me, step by step, through the process, please?

Thanks for this direction.   I went to her and tried to follow the instructions but still get in a bit of a mess with getting the pages in the correct order.      I continue to try, though, until I understand well even if it uses the ink and paper in the process.   But thank you, whatever!

  • Problems with the HP Deskjet 3845 in Windows 7 installation

I could not well my HP model on the list and Windows Update was unable to get a list of devices in Windows Update, when I tried to install the HP Deskjet 3845 manually in Windows 7.

    Hello world

The driver is already built into Windows 7. Follow the instructions below to install the appropriate driver.

    1. plug the USB cable from the printer to the computer.

    2. If you already ran the Windows Update, your printer must be installed using the driver that is included in Windows 7. If it is not updated with a driver appropriate to continue with the steps below.

    3. open devices and printers

    4. click on add a printer

    5. click on Windows Update

    6. when the update finished scroll HP on the left pane and select HP Deskjet 3840 series from the list of available printers.

7 follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

  • DeskJet F4480: full black print cartridge still does not print black. Colors OK.

What the title says. All of a sudden my Deskjet F4480 does not print black. All cartridges are almost nine (changed recently, bought at Staples). Colour printing is OK. Print a page with black text and results in only the images printing color images. I only went through all the steps of cleaning cartridge several times, no difference. There is no error message, just black not appear do not at all.

    And... Here is the solution.

Funny how I found an explanation of the problem and how to fix it on a different printer manufacturer's Web site, but not on HP... But I digress.

The black cartridge has been blocked. The way of difficulty is:

    1. remove the faulty cartridge from the printer.

    2. place a small amount of boiling water in a cup (about 1/4 in.) and dunk of the print head (the part where the ink comes out) in warm water for a minute. Do not immerse the entire cartridge in hot water, just the print head.

3 take it out, pat against a paper towel, observe the model ink left in the cartridge on the towel. If too little / interrupted, dunk again in hot water for another minute, pat again. You want to get an unbroken line of ink through the length of the print head. Repeat as needed (I did 4 times total).

4 cartridge Pat dry everywhere, put it back in the printer, run cleaning cycles (1 - 2).

    5. If still not good fixed, take out the cartridge and repeat 2 (I had to do it again).

You will lose little ink, cartridge of bad and good a well (you can not run cycles with only 1 cleaning cartridge), but at least you won't have to throw a nearly full cartridge.

  • DeskJet 3845: deskjet 3845 paper not feed

My Deskjet 3845 won't feed paper.  It was working fine and all of a sudden everything just stopped feeding paper.   I tried running the self-test by holding down the power button / stop and opening and closing door four times.   Systematic post, but it won't pull the paper.   I opened the back and checked the paper roll.  It seems - noevidence of any accumulation.  Then he touches, it feels like soft rubber, so I don't think that's the problem.  All the ideas!

You were correct.  My 3845 had a hardware problem.   I hated to throw my 3845 followers, so I removed the top cover.  The problem is obvious - when he tried to print a test page, gray plastic gears at the end of the feed roller just spun.  The feed roller does not turn.

To fix this, I drilled a 1/16"hole in the hub of the wheel in plastic and in the supply roll on a 1/8".  This required a wet strand.  Then, I inserted a piece of steel (a piece of a small nail) in the drilled hole rod, passing through the hub and in the feed roller.  I then epoxyed the stem in place and leave to harden for 24 hours.    Make sure you blow the shavings of metal and the dust of the printer with a lot of compressed air!

    The printer now works fine.

At past total: $4 hardened forest, epoxy $5, I have time to time.

Feel free to pass along this correction for someone else who needs it.

  • HP DESKJET INK ADVANTAGE 1515: To connect the HP DESKJET INK ADVANTAGE 1515 printer device to multiple computers.

Mr President, I have HP DESKJET INK ADVANTAGE 1515 PRINTER I want to connect to my two computers with all FIRST Windows XP and the second having Windows 7 operating systems. Kindly help me to do this in detail...  THANKS IN ADVANCE

What's your plan for the connection?   It is a USB printer only, no network connection.  You can connect to a computer and then enable Microsoft File and print sharing on both computers.   Or if your router has a USB port that supports printers CAN operate when connected there.

    Those are your options.

  • HP Deskjet 1112: HP Deskjet 1112 does not print

Recently, I bought a HP Deskjet 1112. It prints very irregular and I can't seem to understand the problem.

Here's what I've tried so far:

    (1) turning and turn on the printer
    (2) turn the system off and on again spooler (using Windows + R, typing in services.msc, turn off the spooler, then by disabling the that and turn it back on)
    (3) uninstall and reinstall the software (this is what the printer Troubleshooter told me to do)

The convenience store told me that is missing a driver, and he also says that the printer and the computer communicate well. I wonder if it is a question of rope? In addition, I do not know what a driver is so I don't know how to check if it is operational.

Help, please. I'm running out of ideas for now thanks in advance!

    Comment

In my opinion, unless you want to print the notice yourself for some reason, this might be the time to look for a local printing Service company that can help by printing the invitations for you with your special message / staff.

You can provide the staff of print service with a sample of your message that is printed on plain paper.  This way you are not tempted and then perhaps overwhelmed with choices that may be other than what you have already decided.

    Why use a printing Service?

    • This printer also beautiful be, isn't able to print invitations from the way you expect.
    • The invitations are likely to be expensive and perhaps not easily replaceable.
    • The test phase may exceed the number of invitations you want to risk.

If you do, you could remove this in your list of items "I do" and entrusts the care professionals.
