• HP deskjet 5650 printer

  My hp deskjet 5650 is connected to a computer to Office XP.  Shared network printer but will not work on Windows 7 laptop.  It works well with my Win 98 and Win 2 k computers laptops.

  Perform the steps on the XP computer below.

  Step 1: first make sure that the printer on the XP machine is shared. You can do this by doing a right click on the printer and selecting sharing. Click the share this printer option button, and give your printer a share name. Make sure of course is less than 8 characters and contains all symbols.

  Perform the steps on the Win 7 computer below.

  Step 1: make sure that you can see the printer to share on the network of navigation area in Windows 7. You can do this by going to control panel and click on network and Internet

  Step 2: Click on view network computers and devices under network and sharing Center.

  At this point, you should see your XP computer name in the list of computers.

  Step 3: Double-click the name of the computer, and you should see your printer in the list. Here, you can try to add the printer by clicking right on it and choosing Connect.
  

  If everything goes perfectly, Windows 7 should automatically add the printer to your set of printers. However, if you get a message like "Unable to connect to the printer", follow these steps.

  Step 4: click Start and then click on devices and printers. At the top, click the Add a printer link.

  Step 5: then select Add a local printer. Yes, this seems counterintuitive, but that's what you have to do!

  Step 6: then click create a new port and choose Local port from the list of options.

  Step 7: click Next and in the Port name box, type the path to the shared printer. It should be something like \\Jabzi\HPXP, where Jabzi is the name of your machine XP and HPXP is the common name of the printer.

  Step 8: now, choose the printer driver from the list, or download the latest driver for the printer and select disk. Note that if you printer is a little older, it is advisable to download the Windows 7 driver for the printer, and then click disk.

  Continue with the wizard to complete it.

  Now try to print, it should work!

  This printer worked perfectly with my Windows 7 system until a few days ago.  Now, it takes about 15 minutes to print a page - even time if black and white or color.  I don't know where to start troubleshooting.  Would it be a of the automatic updates of the system which is at the origin of the printing problem?

  Try printing a test page by pressing the button resume 5 seconds. If this page is slow to, it might be a cartridge problem. Get out them of the printer and check the date on the cartridges.

• Deskjet 3000 printer problem

  DeskJet 3000 shows OK ink levels. the test print on most lines only 1/2 the height of letters. Printer did not run for about 5 months. ???

  The printhead on the cartridge for this model, is about half an inch, so if the white lines repeat every half inch or so indicate, ink do not come out. You may need to run 'clean' print head (or can be called 'clean cartridge'), a few times until all the ink jets are disabled. On some models there is a "Deep cleaning" mode, if requested, try this.

  If the problem persists, maybe replace the black ink cartridge.

• Establishment of a used HP Deskjet D1460 printer problems

  Software downloaded, installed and run OK but when an attempt is made to print the test page, the printer loaded paper then the printhead moved only once all the minutes and paper moved no further.  When the power supply to the printer has been removed and reconnected, the paper was ejected empty.

  I have a D2680 connected by a USB cable to a laptop Toshiba under Win 7. In devices and printers, the printer is usually listed as offline.   Thank you, Sean... .a but no cigar. My 7 Pro 64-bit OS recognizes my DeskJet 5650 and it seems that the default printer in devices and printers. However, when I print a test page I download the 4 c/Hp logo nice and sharp, but the rest of the test is reflected in the parts as follows:

  1st page: logo only; »

  2nd page: white

  page 3: "Congratulations!" only

  page 4: "If you can read this information, you have correctly installed your deskjet 5600 series (HPA) on your PC - Sam." Followed by name, rank, including the serial number "Port (s) name: USB001, RAW, nom_lecteur Data Format: UNIDRV.» DLL... Driver version: 6.00, environment: Windows x 64,... Additional files used by this driver:

  I've noticed that when we had to switch from windows xp to windows 7 my HP Deskjet 5650 printer had one which I believe is a new driver. in the name of the printer, there was an addition (HPA). Since then, I noticed that my impressions are not as good quality and noticed that unlike before I use to get a new window that would come to the top when I would print telling me my ink level.   The only way to tell now if the ink is low is if your printed pages are missing, lines or points or streaks appear, the print cartridge may be low on ink.

How to clean the cartridges? Unlike other printers, the Properties dialog box is not all the utilities on this subject.
