Deskjet F380 blinking light print cartridge

On my Deskjet F380 ink cartridge light flashes and and E shows. Computer tells me that there is a problem with the color ink. Have inserted the new HP cartridge and no results. Have out and checked the cartridges and print heads. Have followed the instructions to unplug, reset, etc. Have tried printing test sheet, but he won't. Have tried to change the route, but it will not be printed on the sheet that you need.

It is true that I've used successfully refills and current black is always a refill. When I put in a new color refill, this all started. But now, I put in a HP, it still does not work!

It makes me crazy when help guides say do you things like check his dial-up, or the door is closed. but then you don't give any help with real problems!

Can someone out there please give me some advice. I am a school teacher and school closing very fast!

  • DeskJet F4480: full black print cartridge still does not print black. Colors OK.

What the title says. All of a sudden my Deskjet F4480 does not print black. All cartridges are almost nine (changed recently, bought at Staples). Colour printing is OK. Print a page with black text and results in only the images printing color images. I only went through all the steps of cleaning cartridge several times, no difference. There is no error message, just black not appear do not at all.

    And... Here is the solution.

Funny how I found an explanation of the problem and how to fix it on a different printer manufacturer's Web site, but not on HP... But I digress.

The black cartridge has been blocked. The way of difficulty is:

    1. remove the faulty cartridge from the printer.

    2. place a small amount of boiling water in a cup (about 1/4 in.) and dunk of the print head (the part where the ink comes out) in warm water for a minute. Do not immerse the entire cartridge in hot water, just the print head.

3 take it out, pat against a paper towel, observe the model ink left in the cartridge on the towel. If too little / interrupted, dunk again in hot water for another minute, pat again. You want to get an unbroken line of ink through the length of the print head. Repeat as needed (I did 4 times total).

4 cartridge Pat dry everywhere, put it back in the printer, run cleaning cycles (1 - 2).

    5. If still not good fixed, take out the cartridge and repeat 2 (I had to do it again).

You will lose little ink, cartridge of bad and good a well (you can not run cycles with only 1 cleaning cartridge), but at least you won't have to throw a nearly full cartridge.

  • HP Deskjet Series 1510: Black print cartridge slightly

I use deskjet series 1510 for about a year, but recently there is a problem on the black cartridge. When I put quality on plain paper normal at best quality, the output paper still prints the words a little. I try to use special paper, but it's always the same. Then I try to use the photo with the highest quality paper and the result displays the words clearly. This thing happened after I refill the black cartridge for myself, not to buy original hp cartridge. Is it possible to make it clear again with the best quality paper ordinary setting? Because it is too extravagant if I always use the quality setting best photo paper or there may be some indication of failure of the axis of the printer? I hope I explain cleary, look forward to the solution, thank you.

    Kind regards

    Thie

The black cartridge is not used when the photo paper is selected, because the black pigmented ink is not compatible with photo paper.

It would seem that you have incompatible ink or have introduced air into the black cartrdige.

Replace the black cartridge with a genuine HP cartridge should solve the problem.  [Unless the refill ink has contaminated the gas caps and wipers, in this case more work may be required...]

  • DeskJet f380 recognized as printer, but not scanner

I have a F380 all-in-one on my network connected to an old XP box. I have a new box of Win7 that I am connected to the network, and although I can add the printer as the printer, it is not recognized as a scanner. The function 'Add a device' HP is useless because it is looking for a USB connection to this computer - added that a network device is not an option. Control Panel Add a device function does not see the printer. When I browse through the network of the XP machine, I can see the printer (it's how I added it as a printer) but there is no option to add as a scanner.

When I open the HP Solution Center, it is said that for a network installation, put in the installation CD. I do this, but Setup never made the system requirements because it is an older drive and it do not recognize Win7, and none of these compatibility options can move.

UPDATE: I downloaded the HP Windows 7 installation program, which includes a network option, but it does not find the printer on the network. Meanwhile, I can still print it. Why is it so hard...?

    Thank you.

    Hi madmatt32171,

It is not easy to sharing the printer from XP to Windows 7. I suggest that you install the USB printer to Windows 7 computer using the software on the link below and follow the Microsoft document for installation printer sharing. By installing the printer on the Windows 7 computer, this will install the drivers for the printer when you go do the printer sharing session. I would like to know if you are successfully able to install this printer on the Windows 7 USB computer?

  • HP Deskjet F380: When you print a document it prints always 4 copies

When I PRINT a document, he still wants to print 4 copies. How default it just print a document?

    Hi Doc,

Your explanation not a not quite do the trick, but you told me in the right direction.

The problem: For some reason when you use Microsoft Office WORD 2007, and you want to print a document the default 'number of copies' print is stuck on 4 best (which I was able to change to 1, and then it would print 1... but if I did this it would still print 4 copies of the document). I tried to find a way within WORD to make it default to 1, but could find no way to do this. I was able to change the number of 1 in several places, but next time I want to print a document, it was back to 4 copies.

I followed your instructions (but not remove the printer cable) and went to START, Control Panel, printers and faxes. Done right click on HP Deskjet F300 Series (would not have thought to do). There were 9 available options click on in the drop-down list box: open, printing preferences, suspend printing, sharing, use printer online, create a shortcut, delete, rename and properties. It was not an option to "remove the device.

So I clicked on properties, advanced, paper/output, printing preferences... who said Copy Count = 4 copies. I changed 4- 1. He said then copy Count = 1 copy.  I then clicked on apply, then OK.

And now every time I want to print a default document is to 1 copy. Thank you for pointing me to the finger printer and faxes in Control Panel. and right-click on the printer. This problem was bugs me for several weeks! Problem solved.

  • HP Deskjet D1320 align the print cartridges fail

    Hello

So I recently broke my printer to work on a couple projects.  The old cartridges is dead, so I bought brand new and installed today.  When installing the latest software of HP printer, the alignment will fail.  Step by step:

    (1) Center of Solutions HP Open

    (2) open Toolbox

    (3) device Services tab

    (4) align the ink cartridges

    (5) align the

However, after click on align, * nothing *.  It's as if the part of the alignment of the software was not installed.  I * can print * very well, but alignment doesn't matter.   I can also print a page of test very well.

I also did the standard troubleshooting: remove and reinstall the cartridges, restart the printer, unplug the printer, reinstall the software.  * Nothing works.* again, it is as if the part of the alignment of the software was not installed.

So what can I do to solve the problem of alignment?

    Thank you

    Drogan

PS OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1.  Connection: USB

You are right.  It's a good general practice to align the printer when new cartridges are installed, but it is not mandatory.  Alignment is made for purposes of printing quality.  On this printer, the print head is part of the ink cartridge.  When a new cartridge is seated, it may or may not be in alignment.  It looks like your cartridges are in alignment.

You could try to shut down your computer (not a reset) and do a Hard Reset of the printer as described in the following link.  Click here  After you restart the computer, is there a difference?

If not, and the print quality is good, I recommend you skip the alignment.  If you want to be able to make an adjustment, you could try to do a complete uninstall of the printer software and download and install the drivers from hp.com.  Click here

  • All-in-one HP Deskjet F380: use of HP Deskjet F380 cartridge.

I want to know if we can use a single cartridge in HP Deskjet F380, or use two cartridges at the same time?

    Hi @Shubhamp,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you would like to know if you can print mode single cartridge with this printer. I would like to help you today.

According to the manual, it does not indicate that you can simply use the cartridge in this model. The two cartridges need to be installed and work to continue printing with this model.

When you receive a low-ink warning message, make sure you have an available replacement cartridge. You must also replace the print cartridges when you see has passed out in text, or if you are having print quality problems associated with print cartridges
