Desktop HP 110-243w very very slow

Hello

It seems that there is not of type 'cat' online that I can find to HP.

I've recently upgraded to the new HP 110-243w desktop PC. Of a very old HP d530c, which was a fantastic machine, it just could not be upgraded to 8.1 windows...

My question is, is the oldest pc is about five times faster and zippy than new.

can someone advise me please on what to do to get my new PC HP 110 - 243w be zippy.

There may be better drivers out there, that could improve things.

Please advise, thank you so much Joyce

Your very welcome, so I guess that your problem is solved.

My elderly mother of 10 years of emachine with 1 GB of ram and simple memory layer dead so I quickly ran to the Wal-Mart the only store in town that sells computers and bought the best office they had with a quad processor, 8 GB ram, 1 TB of HDD and Windows 8, since updated to 8.1.  A few months earlier, I had bought a computer laptop gateway with processor quad, ram 6 GB, HDD 750 GB at WalMart when my 12 year Dell, started having modem problems and was very happy with the speed of the new gateway.  (I don't like windows 8, but the machine is fast.)

This HP 110-243w is slow, very slow.  Loading facebook my laptop charge 2 seconds - my laptop Dell 12 year, took about 4 seconds.  On the HP 110-243w, it takes 2-5 minutes before I can scroll down.  If I want to go back a screen it again stalls for 1 to 4 minutes before it scrolls.  Often, the whole page should reload.  I tried to run on wifi like laptops.  I am currently connected to the FIOS modem.  A speed test shows 58 MB/s download and download 61 MB/s, but when I try to load a real Web page, speed disappears.  Drivers HP page took more than three minutes, when I chose my windows OS 8.1, it took 4 minutes before loading the driver screen.  When I click an option such as "audio drivers", it took 90 seconds to show 2 possible drivers.

I downloaded everything new nd drivers installed.  I ran drive optimizers, acceleration routines, etc.  It's always incredibly slow.  I stopped the virus checker and other monitoring software and firewalls, and it is still slow.

I'm about to buy just another new no HP desktop.  Anyone know how to speed up this HP 110-243?    Does anyone know another CPU and/or the gpu that could be installed plug-and - play to replace the standard?

Personally, I was not amused that you bought a computer with a processor at 1.5 GHz, with a combination of processor (CPU) and the graphics chip (GPU) all shipped in a single chip to speed. And then you said that it was the best office that Wal-Mart had.

It is not the best of HP.  The model of 'w' is a special Wal-Mart.

He was rated by guests very badly and voted 3.3 5.  This means a score of 65%.

How can I fix a very slow desktop icons appearing very thin & slow?

    Dear friend,

Please try the following methods to solve your problem
    Applicable operating systems:
    Windows XP
    Possible causes
    1. Several startup programs.
    2. Any startup virus scan.
    3. Corruption of user profiles
    4. ShellIconCache corrupted restaur頳era file
In this case the shellIconCache file has been corrupted. Its a hidden file located in the windows directory level that contains a copy of all the icons of the desktop by default. To resolve this problem, re-create the ShellIconCache file by deleting.
Open folder options by typing the command files to RUN quickly. Select view and select Show hidden folders and files , and then click OK.
Locate the C:\Documents and Settings\Your User of utilisateur\Local Settings\Application Data patch. Delete the file Iconcache.db.

Hi, I have a Bold 9700.  I used 01:54 days ago Office Manager, when I upgraded to 7.  Now, it's VERY SLOW sync.  It took 1/2 hour or more for some 800 contacts and events of 200-300.  He used to take a minute to synchronize.  I tried USB or Bluetooth so the connection is not the problem.  I use Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  I get just to the version 6 and version 7 simply plug?  Help!

    I found a solution

    BTW, I have 1500 contacts, ~ 200 events & ~ 400 notes. USB sync works ~ 1 minute

After the comQosants caused the final step to hang during the synchronization of the 'Preparing' Organizer overview of sync, I deleted Desktop manager by using Add/Remove Programs & restarted my PC

Then I downloaded the installer from the web site of Blackberry, I configured synchronization to replace the data on the handheld = "go to your device only"(outlook est ma principale source pour les Contacts, calendrier, tâches & mémos & que les données sont complètes) ".

    1 way sync worked well.

Then I changed the data synchronization, settings back to two lanes between your device and your computer.

It has worked very well for

We live in very slow download speeds.  All other computers and devices in the House can stream video without problem.  Speed tests test our laptop Vaio 2009 to 16 Mbps download and 6 Mbit/s upload.  The Dell is the same download speed, but the download speed is 512 Kps!  It's like the beginning of the 1990s with telephone lines.  We called Dell a week ago and they told us to reload the driver for the wifi card.  The suggestion does not and we could not reload the driver and it made it unnecessary to the wireless card.  They sent us a new desktop case and put us together today and got the same results with slow download speed.  Need help with any suggestions that anyone has to correct the problem of download speed.

We have a new Motorola modem and a new Linksys router.  And as I said, TVs, tablets and other computers work fine.  Maybe it's just a [Admin NOTE: expletives deleted according to the terms of USE] computer?  It's our first Dell and I must admit, we are more than disappointed so far.

  • Backups Time Machine very slow on 2015 MacBook Air

Associated with a topic of discussion between a few days ago (two MacBooks, 10.11.4, a fast Time Machine backup and a very slow), I start a new topic with new information that seem to show it is a problem more general and not related to Time Machine networks.

    Here's the situation:

    • A 2015 MacBook Air, 10.11.4, 8 GB / 512 GB, has extremely slow performance of backup Time Machine, taking 40 hours for the first 300 GB backup and incremental backups for a long time as well
    • TM performance is essentially the same whether on the network (wired Ethernet) or a USB3 external disk
    • When you back up to disk USB3, I confirmed that the information system shows that the port is configured as USB3, not USB2 (nothing else is plugged into the USB port)
    • Tests of bandwidth I/O gross (using dd and iperf) show no problem; the network reached 110 MB/s bandwidth, written network managed at 50 Mbps, external USB3 HD written work at 40-50 MB/s (write hard drive speed limit)
    • 3 other Macs of various ages from 2009-2014 on the same network have no problem at all do backups Time Machine Network; a backup complete first on a 2011 MacBook Pro 500 GB takes 5 hours or more than 10 x faster than the MBA problem
    • Time machine network uses a Linux server running the latest Debian and Netatalk 3.1.8 and the connection is via a USB3/Gigabit adapter, no WiFi, and iperf tests with this arrangement shows 900 MB/s of throughput of the server.  In all cases, the Time Machine and external time Machine Network USB HD have the same symptoms.
    • The problem with MacBook Air is configured the same as the MacBook Pro 2011, which she replaced "daily driver", possible
    • This problem was shown by the MBA since his unboxing conversion, taking 20 hours for his first backup once Setup initially.  Incremental backups now take several hours, leading to interrupted incremental backups and, I believe, databases corrupted backup triggers new full backups that take today the 40 hours.

Using Terminal Server and iostat, Console, etc, I see that there is significant activity e/s for the backup drive on the order of 20 to 40 MB/s for long periods on the MBA during the TM backup, but during that time the average declared backup size as shown in the window in the console and TM is growing by only 5 GB/hour.  This occur even if the backup will the external drive or a network drive. This seems to mean that the I/O bandwidth to and from the disk hard external, only 1/600 contributes to the progress of the backup.  I am sure that there is overload of certain checks and other tasks, but not to a 600-to-1 ratio.

I tried to disable the limitation of the I/O of low priority as shown here: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/212537/time-machine-ridiculously-slow-a close-el-capitan-upgrade, that helps a bit (maybe 20-30%), but not by a factor of 10 for others.

I have gone through a number of the Time Machine of Pondini troubleshooting steps, but he found nothing corresponding to these symptoms.

The only thing I can conclude is that Time Machine, the application or configuration, on this specific MBA, is down. (A single thought that I wrote this to the top that I have not tried: the MBA and the time MBP running VMware Fusion and have a file of 50 + GB VM; on the MBA that is not excluded from TM backups while on the MBP is)

Does anyone have advice on what to watch next?  In all cases, only one key would be why it seems that only 0.16% of all the bandwidth I/O to the backup drive seems to be actual data backup.

Once again, three other Macs, all running the same 10.11.4, back to the Time Machine Server perfectly and have for years.  Only this new MBA glue as broken out, either to a network drive or an external hard drive USB3.

(A single thought that I wrote this to the top that I have not tried: the MBA and the time MBP running VMware Fusion and have a file of 50 + GB VM; on the MBA that is not excluded from TM backups while on the MBP is)

What happens when you exclude it as the MBP?

  • Scrolling Web page very slow on the second monitor

I have two monitors. When I move the window of firefox for the second monitor - scrolling of web pages is very slow. Sometimes he computer freeze (I can't move the mouse cursor).
I checked the other applications such as MS Word, Chrome.
This problem is only firefox problem.

This problem apears when the part of the firefox window shows on the second monitor (or even 50 pixels)

Hey, I had the same problem and I solved it:
    1. - in the Firefox menu, display the Tools/Options.
    2. - unselect the checkbox "use hardware acceleration when available.
This should work better now. Apparently the hardware acceleration makes the problems only when the windows of Firefox appears in a non-primary screen (don't know why). I suppose you know, but if you want to change your primary monitor you can do it from settings (right click on the desktop, then properties).
    Good luck!

  • HP 250 G4: HP 250 G4 - very slow internet

    Hello

I bought HP 250 G4 laptop and when I connect to the Wi - Fi connection, it is very slow and also shows a signal low, even when near the router, where other HP computers, phone even with low antena, strong signal. I tried updating drivers by downloading the latest drivers from HP Support Center, but nothing works. Also, when I, for example, to start the video on Youtube, it is still loading and the task manager shows the use of the network generally less than 1 MB/s, very rarely it goes more than 1 Mbps, even when I have fast network.

I also used Wi - Fi (TP-LINK TL-WN422G) USB dongle, I plugged it in, the drivers installed, and it also shows signal low and slow, but a little more than 1 Mbps, so faster than integrated antena, but always very slow. Because in this place was to desktop computer using this dongle, and it was fast, so I reminded it my older laptop (HP Pavilion dv6), plugged the dongle Wi - Fi, installed the same driver, placed on the same place and I have strong signal and speed of approximately 20 MB/s without any problem. But when I plug in the 250 HP G4, then again weak and slow speed. But when I'm really close to the router (less than 2 meters), it has full signal and no problem of speed.

So there must be a problem with the laptop itself, it seems that the wifi receiver is set to low power by the laptot, because it works not on other computers of withnout any problems. Any suggestion what to do?

    Thank you.

So I solved it myself, by the former driver installation...

  • Satellite Pro M70-113: modem - very slow

    Hello

I have a toshiba satellite pro m70-113 laptop. I bought it in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh.

The problem is that when I use the modem (dialup) software from toshiba to connect to internet... the connection is very very slow... While on the same line, on my desk speed isn't a problem... on average, I get 1/4th of the speed I get on my desk... and on the same telephone line...

    What is the problem?

Can someone help me in this... are there any configuration software that can fix this problem?

    Help will be very appreciated...

    Thank you.

    Hello

I don't know what your desktop device modem, but modems takes care of different speeds.
You can also check the properties of the modem for laptop.
Go to the Toshiba software modem properties and check under the tab "modem".
You will find the maximum port speed. This should be set to the highest value.

It is also possible that different providers use a different speed of data transmission.
Some time ago I used a modem and I was very surprised that my speed of data transmission is different on the different suppliers.
As you can see there are many factors why you don? t get the same speed of modem.

  • Very slow connection to the LAN on my Tecra M1

    Hi all

    I use a Toshiba Tecra M1 1 .6GHz, Win XP.

I found that there is a problem with the connection to the local network. It is very slow. I takes about 5 minutes to download 1 MB. It's really a lot of time if I want to download and update some software over the internet.

I also have an office. It is quite a bit old but the connection to the local network is much faster than my laptop; for example, I downloaded Windows Mediaplayer 10 - about 12 MB by using desktop and laptop at the same time to compare, the Office has taken 2-3 minutes while the laptop ate more than 20 minutes. I switched the cable between the office and cell phones, but it did not help.

We know the problem and the solution?

    Much thanks.

Nick is on the right track. Who knows what runs in the background and applications who wants to access the internet. I recommend you to use the tool called Zone alarm. On this way, you will have full control over the applications that want to access the internet.

  • Synology Diskstation short very slow with OSX

I use synology diskstation for 2 years and have never really found it to be very slow when it is connected to my mac pro retina book.

    Plug NAS...

Synology NAS Office DS213J Bay 2 enclosure £159.99

Red WD 3 TB for NAS 3.5 inch desktop hard drive - OEM £89.00

    3 TB Seagate 3.5 inch 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache hard SATA3 £89.99

2 drives installed - 1 set up in mirror

I measured the speeds and get 3 MB/s reading and writing on wi fi. Direct connection to a gigabit switch that directly relates to NAS both via CAT6 - makes about 35 MB/s reading and 50 MB/s in writing.

I read a review that has measured the same device and got a 74.5 MB/s write speed and a 56.4 MB/s read speed

When you run windows in bootcamp on the same machine, I get much better performance.

I tried to remove a drive (speed tests are the same for each single drive)

    10.11.2 running OSX

Is there a particular issue or the goal or the question you are interested in here?   It is clear that you are looking for performance and a few comparisons, but it's not clear (to me) where you're going with this.  Can also check with Synology people, too.

    A few generic comments follow...

In general...  A Wi - Fi connection is slow, and Wi - Fi with interference makes even slower connections.      Descent and with a tailwind, I expect a little more than 200 Mbps (megabits per second, not megabytes) with semi-recent-grade Wi - Fi 5 GHz dual-slot, assuming a backhaul wired on the gigabit NAS and assuming no interference from Wi - Fi or claim.

Rusty storage rotation is slow and subject to the configuration.

Red WD appears without RPM - "Intellipower", with some comments showing a player ~ 5400 RPM, which is quite slow and at no time access in the technical sheets.  If a seller do not post access time and transfer speeds for a disk drive, the device is not intended to be a particularly fast device.  WD indicates both in the note on the sheet, too.

For most RAID controllers, RAID-1 mirror means the two Scriptures - written to each disk in the mirror game - must fill in before the host i/o is complete.   This slows down the write speed.   If the RAID controller is intelligent - and not all RAID controllers are very smart, then it will give you the first available reading rates from the game of mirror, based on the position of rotation.  Many will just take a drive and give you the e/s as the sector turns around, so you will be waiting on average a demi-revolution.

If you want a faster access to the storage, stay off WiFi and use two SSD storage or upgrade these disks to 15 K RPM disks configured as a RAID 0 striped.   High-end and storage gear company - the older, hard-disk-based - gets its performance to have zillions of small discs of 15 K RPM configured with disk and controller wholesale large caches, controllers (by rotation-aware) smart and with RAID 10 storage configurations or similar.

To compare the performance of the device, the configuration of these benchmarks and what you are testing is important.  Reference material, as well as the speeds measured since the test of Windows.
