DESKTOP HP 700-527C SERIES WILL NOT START AFTER A REBOOT WITH MY SEAGATE BACKUP MORE 4TO CONNECTED TO USB 3.0 OR 2.0

WHEN I CONNECT MY EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE BACKUP 4 TB OF SEAGATE MORE SACT4000600, HE NOT ONLY RE-START THE COMPUTER. IT SEEMS TO BE

TRY TO RESTART ON THE SEAGATE, NOT THE INTERNAL HARD DRIVE. MY COMPUTER IS A HP-700-527 C, RUNS THE WINDOWS 7, THE INTERNET EXPLORER BROWSER. MY ERROR MESSAGE SAYS "NO BOOT DISK OR DISK IS DAMAGED." I JUST INSTALLED CMS BOUNCEBACK ULTIMATE, WEBROOT AND MICROSOFT OFFICE PRO AND VISIO.

I FIRST SET UP THE FIRST COMPUTER AND RECEIVED THIS MSG ON RESTART AFTER THE DISKS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED FOR BOUNCEBACK AND SEAGATE. THOUGHT IT WAS A PROBLEM OF HP, NO LUCK WITH THEIR HELP. MICROSOFT IS NO HELP. A COMPUTER HELD THE GEEKSQUAD AFTER THEY WENT THROUGH IT REMOTELY AT HOME, THEY COULD NOT MAKE CHANGES TO THE BIOS REMOTELY. BIOS IS BELIEVED TO BE IN THE WRONG ORDER TO RE-BOOT. THEY COULDN'T GET IT TO STOP TRYING TO RESTART ON THE SEAGATE, EVEN WHEN THE BIOS FOR THE REST HAS BEEN DISABLED.

ONLY THING ON IN THE BIOS WAS THE C: / DRIVE. BUT, WITH IT UNPLUGGED IT WOULD RESTART WITH THE BIOS ALWAYS POWER OFF TO EVERYTHING ELSE? WE PLUGGED ON THE 3.0 AND VERSION 2.0. SO, I TOOK THE COMPUTER BACK THINKING IT WAS HER, EVEN A NOVELTY. AT EXTERNAL BACK SAME THING. SAME THING ON THE NEW COMPUTER AND THE NEW HARD DRIVE! .... SEEMS TO ME A HARDWARE PROBLEM? BETWEEN SEAGATE USB 2.0 AND USB 3.0 PORTS?

IF THE BIOS EVERYTHING IS OFF, THEN WHY HE WOULD ATTEMPT TO BOOT UP OUT OF SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT EXIST IN THE BIOS IT IS! ... MEETS EVERYONE. I HAVE A SMALL PORTABLE 1 TB SEAGATE, IT WORKS PERFECTLY IN USB 2.0 NOT IN 3.0, COOL, MY DIGITAL WEST ON USB 2.0 BUT NOT USB 3.0 ŒUVRES. MY COMPUTER WON'T BOOT UP OFF OF THEM. SITTING AT THE DRAWING BOARD! ??? !!! ....

Hello
Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

As you mentioned that your HP desktop computer is not able to start after a reboot.

I would first disconnect the backup / external drive and check if you are able to start or not.

I suggest to go to the BIOS and boot sequence and select the internal hard drive as first boot device.

NOTE: BIOS change / complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Setting changes are made at your own risk.

If the problem persists. I suggest that get you in touch with HP support in order to solve this problem.

  • Windows Vista will not start after the automatic installation of the patch Ms.

    Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
  • Vista will not start after start or restart.
    Since last week, when I first start the computer, change user or log out or reboot, Vista does not start after the log in password stage (after accepting the password). I usually have to restart the computer twice so he could finally enter the Office of habit and I can work as usual.
    I tried to let the computer some time at this point to work through and start normally, but it does not work and I have to restart.
    I recently updated my anti-virus (BitDefender) for the 2010 edition.
    I don't know if is the recent update to Vista which is originally or not.
    Uninstall Bit Defender and see if that fixes things. Antivirus programs use low-level drivers which can sometimes cause problems. If the uninstallation of Bit Defender work, use a different antivirus. I recommend ESET NOD32 (commercial) or Avast free. If Bit Defender Uninstalling does not help, then you may experience hardware problems. Failing power supply or hard drive that often produces symptoms such as you describe.   • 32 Firefox will not start after a download.
    On windows XP sp3. Chrome and Iexplorer 8 will take place. Firefox will launch. Cannot run firefox.exe Pei either.
    You can start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the shift/Options button?
    Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.
    If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.
    • Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.
    Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.
    Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.
    If you keep problems also create a new profile.
    Anyone know what is happening and how can I solve this problem?
    In the Boot Options menu advanced F8, choose this option and describe the results:
    Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure
    Let us know if you do not see this option in the Advanced Boot Options menu.
    You will not get far if you can't start something, so if you have a CD/DVD player, do you have a bootable XP Recovery Console in order to have room for manoeuvre, boot on the CD, run chkdsk /r and then you can start solving the problem (instructions below).
    You are once started in the Console recovery XP and after running chkdsk/r, then you will be able to see if KB324764 will help you.
    Please provide additional information on your system:
    What is your system brand and model?
    What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
    Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..
    If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.
    This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.
    You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.
    The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:
    xp_rec_con. ISO
    Download the ISO from here:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig
    Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:
    http://www.ImgBurn.com/
    Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:
    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61
    It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.
    You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.
    When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:
    Press any key to boot from CD...
    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.
    Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.
    Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)
    You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).
    You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the
    C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.
    The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.
    For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the command prompt.
    Start by checking the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.
    In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.
    Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.
    Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:
    CHKDSK C: /r
    Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.  It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.
    You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.
    Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.
    You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.
    Do, or do not. There is no test.
    Hi Glenn,.
    Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
    Important: Change BIOS / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
    I recommend you contact the manufacturer of the PC for the procedure for making changes in the BIOS.
    Do not hesitate to write to us in case you have any problems/concerns while working on your computer, we will be happy to help you.
  • Service not will not "started" when I reboot.
    I have an update service that automatically updates every other day or two.  In Services, the Startup Type is "automatic".  I have to manually switch the "Started" status every time that I reboot.  Even when I reboot whose status is defined as "Started", the State is changed nothing in the status column.  I have been in contact with the service provider and they say that if the update will not happen if the Service is not "On the road" and that it is not a problem because of their program.  Can someone tell me please how to keep this service "Started" when I reboot?  Any help will be welcome!
    No services actually stay 'on the road' in the status column when you restart.  They start out empty and starts only when requested to do so (by another program, ask them to start please, or a user like you clicking on the Start button or by typing the start command).
    Normally, there will be a scheduled task in Task Scheduler to start the service and make it check for an update.  For example, this is how things like Windows Update check updates (and a great many other things, even things not Microsoft as Apple iTunes).
    Since the updates of your program fail when this service is not running, and the program fails to ask the service starts, it seems to me that this program you use has a flaw that needs correcting.
    However, you could (maybe!) be able to work around the problem by defining a command to start the service when you connect.  Here's how:
    1. Open the service properties (double-click on it) and note the service name in the upper part.
    2. Run the command : startup of the shell to open your startup folder.  Right click and choose "new > shortcut.
    3. Use this as your shortcut command:
      net start (service name)
    4. Save the shortcut.  Optionally, you can change the shortcut for "reduced work ' then you don't see it flashing on the screen every morning.
    Now, when you connect, this shortcut will fire and start the service, how the program is supposed to do in the background when necessary.
  • Computer will not start after the installation of Kaspersky, will not even go into safe mode
    I tried to install Kaspersky on my laptop this morning to roll some viruses on my computer. After you restart during the installation, I got the blue screen of death with a STOP 0x000000F4 error code. I can't use my phone at all now, and it will not work in SafeMode either. I tried to restore the computer to before that Kaspersky was installed but it cannot do so. I tried to restore to the last known good configuration, but that did not work. I have no idea what to do now. My laptop is basically useless now and I am very angry.
    If I have the Kaspersky disk in I kind of access Kaspersky, and it keeps telling me it is obsolete and must be updated, but it will not be updated. Also, it tries to mount the drives or something and gets stuck trying to create the swap file. I don't know if it's important, but I'll post it anyway.
    I'm at a loss to know what to do...
    If you have tried to install an AV program after your PC has been infected you left it too late.
    Your safest option is to use your recovery discs to get destructive if you plant (make sure that the external devices are disconnected during this process)
    I hope that you, the data has been saved you will lose everything on the PC
    Once recovered allow windows update to do its thing for Important updates ONLY. It may take several reboots.
    If any update fails cure this problem before doing anything else.
    Once the update finished visit of manufacturers of laptop for important driver updates to update necessary.
    Only after this has been done, you should start installing software or external devices.
    Update the alert message. Did a hard stop. Rebooted computer and Firefox will not open.
    Maybe during the update some files were corrupted, try a clean reinstall:
    Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
    Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.
    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:
        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
