Desktop HP Pavilion - p7 1549: problems with my desktop HP Pavilion - p7 1549

I have problems with my desktop computer, do very strange things.  A few weeks ago, it would not start and complained no found boot device.   I went into the bios setup and just reset the values by default and it worked for a few weeks.  Now it does not start at all.

I tried to access the system with F11 recovery and he complains about some secure boot options, I tried to disable secure boot and it still does not work.

I tried to put another disc in and install Windows on it, but I could not.  Is it possible to upgrade the BIOS by booting to a USB port?  I tried to download the new bios file, but it didn't do anything after that I ran it (he didn't not create a folder for me).

Everything seems really slow, takes a few minutes to get into the bios or boot options.  I took out the hard drive and plugged into another computer with an external enclosure and my other computer recognizes the drive.

I tried to do a system restore to factory default start repair/restore and all have failed.  I deleted very recently on the main partition on my drive to try to install 10 Windows on the drive.  The computer appears to be frozen for a long time before continuing with the guests of installation.

I took out the CMOS battery and you press the power button with the computer unplugged.

Don't know what else I can try, I'm starting to think that something is wrong with the motherboard.  The computer starts up fine and I can boot a USB Windows install and the keyboard, mouse and video work.

I think the next thing I will try is tent to start on a standalone update or ubuntu USB boot bios.

Not really concerned about my data, I just want to get this computer working again.

No, you can create a copy of the recovery media.  However, you can purchase the HP media .  If you decide to do a full install, check here first to make sure that the software and drivers are available.

    I recently had a problem with my computer that I solved it by using a recovery disk to do a clean install of windows.  When I was running, I noticed that when I right click on the desktop I no longer get the switchable graphics configuration option.

    I started by redownloading from the site Web of AMD catalyst control center.  For some reason any installing this forced my resolution of 800 x 600 instead of 1366 x 768.  I drove back on two graphics cards drivers and that fixed my resolution.  I went to the HP website and updated all drivers related to graphics cards.  However, the CCC gave an error message saying that it detects all the drivers AMD.  At this point, I uninstalled CCC and other AMD software on the system, and I'm a little stuck.

    I can't download CCC again because it seems to mess up the resolution, but it seems to me to need to change graphics cards.

    I understand that you are not able to re - install the CCC that there is a problem with the resolution with its installation, and I'd be happy to help you!

    To re - install correctly CCC, I recommend to delete the entire AMD driver on your computer and re - install. To do this, remove the software from programs and features.

    Once the driver is then deleted, please remove the driver from Device Manager by following this document on Uninstall or reinstall a device. This should help to re - install your CCC program to your laptop.

    In addition, I also suggest to use the re HP Recovery Manager - install the supplied with your laptop original drivers. This can done by following this document on the use of the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7).

    I have a client with a computer of m8000n Pavilion under Vista Home Premium SP1.  It has LAN nForce chip.  When they returned to travel, the internet was moving incredibly slow (they have a wired 15 Mbps).  I checked the RAM, conducted an audit full disc, then checked the SMART status of the hard drive.  Everything from fine & was functioning normally.  This led me to believe that there may be a problem with the LAN driver.   There is no updated driver I can find for it.  I have an Internet search and found someone who has had a similar problem which was resolved by changing the flow control setting in the properties of the device.  I made this change & could make 4 restarts without the problem does not happen.  Someone knows something similar?  If Yes, have you solved the problem & how?  I want to be sure that the problem does not jump upward in the near future, so I will try to find answers.  Virus protection software they use is AVG 8.5.  They also have Spybot Search Destroy & with Malwarebytes Anti-malware (both of these programs must be run manually, even if Spybot's Tea Timer using).  I have run these same programs on many computers & don't have never experienced this problem.  They have multiple laptops in the House who don't know the slowdowns at all (they all wireless - the office is wired).  The router they have is a Netgear WNDR3300.  There is another office on the floor that is wired on the same router that doesn't have any internet speed problems (also your desktop HP - not sure of the model number, but it is a Pentium Dual Core, clocked at 2 GHz).  The ethernet wiring has been checked with a Fluke Microscaner 2 - it does not work properly.  The cable length is approximately 100 ' (the upstairs computer cable is longer).  It is a disconcerting problem.  If anyone has any ideas, your contribution will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

    I appreciate all the entries, but I forgot this thread (it is 2 years old).  I was out of town when the problem resurfaced, while they had someone recharge the system & upgrade to Windows 7 - the problem has not been returned.  I wish, however, that HP had not removed non-destructive reinstall Windows Vista & Windows 7 machines.  It was a huge harm to their customers.

    That may be a problem with the DDE.

    Try to undo and redo Firefox as default browser.

    Make a different browser like IE browser by default and then let Firefox do it again.

    I have a huge problem with my Pavilion. I used Windows 8.1 earlier, and I decided to upgrade to Windows 10. I did not like something (can't remember what) and decided to return to Windows 8.1. Almost a year passed, I am again on Windows 10. But if I SLEEP my computer:

    • Screen goes black, everything seems normal.
    • No matter how long wait, fan keeps spinning and power LED, LED Wi - Fi on.
    • Keyboard input does not help. Does not meet what it is.
    • The only thing left to do - stop hard.

    And if I shut down the operating system:

    • Windows normally stops, close all applications, screen goes black.
    • Fan on, led on.

    I did not notice these problems with restarting and the hibernation.

    Two things I've done in this gap of the year:

    • Replacement screen. An old broke. Thanks to my cat...
    • Formatted the drive. I don't think it would do anything diffirent.

    So, any help would be appreciated.

    On some machines, the pilot for 11 series IMEI has been known to cause that kind of question of the judgment, so it may be worth trying an earlier version.

    You can use the following method to install an earlier version of the driver IMEI.

    Download driver IMEI on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    Disable your wireless card (should be f12 ).

    Open your download folder and run the installer - it warns you that it is an earlier version, but simply continue.

    When finished, restart the laptop.

    If the computer shuts down correctly, turn on your wireless adapter and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the driver IMEI again.

    I understand that you have installed the driver and it works fine.  When you checked the diagnostics you became confused because it says graphic R5 but you R7.

    According to the specifications of your laptop you have AMD Quad - Core A8 - 6410 APU with graphics Radeon R5 (2 GHz, 2 MB cache).

    Here is a link to the 17-f002sm HP Pavilion Notebook product specifications to confirm this information. I hope that this eliminates any confusion.

    Feel a little silly answering myself, but no one responded and I thought it is best to share what I found out.

    The webcam was defective, straight out of the box.

    And the microphone is connected to these features, but uses a different driver - if your microphone works, it could be a sign that your problem is with the driver for the cam.

    I bought the PC world a month ago, so there was although it is very busy.  It was the second faulty webcam in HP they had returned today - most early was a dv7.  There was no problem with replace - they took a glance, considered to be the installation of the drivers on a disc, but when it was not displayed in Device Manager and the microphone works not more, they knew right away.

    It really shows control of very poor quality of Hewlett-Packard.  It's a shame that in the first weeks, I was really happy with this model, but realistically, now I know that this is what looks like their QC, when my company needs its next piece I'll go with anything other than HP.

    Sorry for the bad news, but HP does not update the BIOS of your PC for Windows-10.

    They planned them to Win8.1, and you should have to do the upgrades at the time, BEFORE you upgraded to Win10.

    The HP BIOS upgrades are OS-specific version, so now that you have upgraded, you can no longer run these.

  • Pavilion 15 laptop: problems with stop and "standby" mode.

    I upgraded from windows 8.1 for windows 64 bit home 10. I had problems with stop and goes into sleep mode and cannot be resolved, then I reinstalled windows 10. Everything worked fine for a few moments, and then the same problem reappeared. I can't stop or put my PC into sleep mode, unless I have first of all to make a restart. After a reboot, I am able to stop or go to sleep mode without problem. If I try to do either without a restart, the screen goes black and the indicator light remains lit. The only way I can get it to start then press on and hold the power button and force a shutdown down, then press the power button to restart the upward. I have another PC, a wafer think that Lenovox has been upgraded to windows Windows 7 10. This PC work fine with windows 10, no problem at all. It's just the HP Pavilion 15 who has these questions. It makes me crazy.
