    Hello

I have a PC with labview controlling a power supply via a serial connection. It works fine, except when I am looged in remote to my PC from another PC lab via desktop remotely. The VI runs correctly, but does not have the equipment to receive orders. Why would it be?

    Thank you

    Guillaume.

If you have configured, the remote computer might try to use the serial port on the computer you're remot desktopping of.  Carefully go through the remote desktop settings and make sure that you are not telling the remote computer to use local ports.

  • Is it possible to use the desktop remotely without password?

Hello, I have a question for remote desktop connection.

I have two computer, computer (XP pro) and computer B.  And A computer user account has no password created.  My question is, if I activate the remote desktop on A computer (computer A user account has no password) and try to access it remotely from computer B, is it possible to connect? or should I set password of computer user account to access desktop remotely from another computer?

If anyone can help me with the answer, I would really appreciate it!

If your PC has no password and disable remote desktop is so they can access account, if it is disable remote desktop. By default, it's that do not allow access without password if you do not have password for Remote Desktop works by default unless you change the setting in the security policy that I posted.

If Disable generator IP = remote desktop won't get to your PC

If remote desktop enable no default = password cannot access but if change the security policy as I said can be accessed.

You could try these different scenario by laptop and try to access your by using remote desktop.

In Windows 7 and XP only professional versions can act as a hostfor Remote Desktop.

There could be similar restrictions on Windows Vista.

In each case, you must configure the host to allow VPN connections. To test, run these commands:

    1. On the host itself:
      Telnet %ComputerName% 3389
    2. On any computer on your network:
      Telnet {Hostname or IP host address} 3389

In each case, you get a response. If you do not then the host is not set correctly or its firewall blocking your access.

  • Can connect with desktop remotely all directions except via internet Windows XP to Windows 7

I have a new computer with Windows 7 Pro to work I need with desktop remote access so that I can work from home and be with the family.  For years I used remote desktop connection from home using Win XP SP3 to my Win XP Pro SP3 computer at work.  I am able to connect my old WinXP computer work on my new Win 7 computer (locally).  I can connect from home computer Win XP Win XP computer via internet (DSL) to work.  I can connect from Windows 7 computer to work at Windows XP home computer over the internet (DSL).

So, I have Setup port forwarding or modems DSL correctly, the IP addresses are correct, consistent remote desktop clients. Firewall exceptions are configured correctly.

What is different.  The new computer with Windows 7 Pro has McAfee Internet Security all others running EAST of Kaspersky.  Win 7 computer is new.  Since I am on various possibilities of connections, changed listening port of 3389 on some computers, including the new Win7 computer (this should not be a problem that I'm able to connect locally).

Disable the firewall (software Anti-anti-virus/IS) on both computers does not help. In any case, I can go to WinXP Pro to work on Win 7 computer to work locally.

My thought is that there may some security policies, or maybe a protocol problem which is different with the new Windows 7 computer that does not have a connection outside the local network (via a public network).

I also tried to set up a VPN connection integrated Microsoft: forwarded port 1723, the GRE protocol allowed to the DSL modem.  Tried all different scenarios between Win XP Home and Win 7 computer at work and cannot configure the VPN connection. I get error 678: the remote computer did not respond.

I spent hundreds of discussions help/knowledge base and discussion review.  I have seen or followed all the instructions on the various sites of tech Web to configure VPN connections and Remote Desktop connections.

Does anyone have an idea as to what could be the solution here?

  • Connection to remote desktop using proxy and gateway desktop remotely?

I have setup a gateway desktop remotely using Windows Server R2 2012 server. I use Remote Desktop gateway as an intermediary between to offer remote desktop session more than 443 because 3389 is blocked in several places of the customer.

However, I encountered a problem with a customer that the network seems to use a web proxy.

Is is possible to set up remote desktop to connect via web proxy? If so, how? If this is not the case, does anyone have any suggestions on how to provide a remote desktop session through 443 on proxy for situations where you don't control the client PC or network? RemoteApps allows access through the web proxy when you use Remote Desktop gateway?

The error message is below to:

Your computer cannot connect to the remote computer because the web proxy server requires authentication. To allow traffic not authenticated to a desktop gateway server remotely through your web proxy server, contact your network administrator.

    Thanks for any help!

  • Using desktop remotely, I try to print on a printer different computers by the server and remote desktop. Does not

With Server 2003, when you remotely connected with office, you could share your printers with everyone who has logged on to the server with the Office remotely and printed at the printing house they shared.  If the server had 10-12 different printers to that we could print.

With 2012 the only printers that one session on the server is its own and the printers installed on the server.  We must be able to log in to the computer 1, with Imprimante1 and printing to the printer on computer 2, through desktop connection remote.

Someone has suggestions I can see 2 printer who has logged the server with 1 computer?

  • Desktop remote access simultaneously in windows with multiple session in Windows Server 2008 support?

I would like to have a remote desktop solution that allows me to connect to remote computers even while users are connected, with the help of another session. The idea is that the user working locally in the remote system can function normally undisturbed by the remote user.

I have tried TightVNC , but I couldn't understand how to enter an independent session.

I am using Windows Server 2008 and I want two users access to the server with two different sessions as remote users.

There are forums dedicated to Windows Server, please transfer your question in the relevant Microsoft Technet forum here:

  • How do you keep users to connect via the desktop remotely on another?

    Use: Windows 2008 R2
    Connection method: connection Remote Desktop

We have users insist on granting of their login and password to another user if that person can connect. Even when they have their own login!

So what happens is the the two #1 can be saved in on the job server all log in user #2 in the server, with the same login, closing at #1. While I can only educate them to use their own connections, so the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make them drink. :(

What I have and I'm not finding, is a way to have the system notify User #2 that login is already in use, try again later.  I would like to accomplish this through Group Policy.

Thanks in advance for any help!
