  I have a problem with my LabView and I'm out of ideas how to fix it. In 2002, I designed a software of data acquisition based on LabView 6.1 using a PCI-6034E. Since then, it worked fine. A few days ago, I had to change PC.

  I installed LabView 6.1 on the new PC. Subsequently, I shut down the system, plugged into the 6034E and restart the PC. Windows has found the new hardware succesfully and installed a driver on the LabView driver CD.

  Unfortunately my device manager tells me that the 6034E produces a Code 10 error. So far, I tried to install the latest driver of OR reinstall LabView and drivers several times.

  The only difference I could meet betweed the two PC is that the old PC works with Windows XP SP 2 and the other uses SP 3.

  You have any ideas what could cause the problem?

  Thank you for your response. I tried to install the DAQmx 7.0 last night. It worked fine with the PCI-6034E. Unfortunately I could not use my program, because some sub vi are incompatible with DAQmx over verson 6.9.3.

  However, I managed to solve the problem. It could have been a comflict between the PCI-6034E and the video card of the computer. I disabled the PCI port card in the Bios and switched on board graphics. So I uninstalled all the software from National Instruments, for a fresh start. After a reboot, video card always disabled, I installed LabView 6.1 and DAQ 6.9.3. After you have inserted the PCI-6034E card now, everything went perfectly. Windows recognizes the card and installed the drivers. According to MAX, the card works fine and my program is also running.

  After that, I activated the video card once again, through the bios. Still everything works fine. I can not tell you how the video card could have caused the problem, but keep this in mind for the future.

• Recommendations for entry level FC SAN

  Currently have a NFS datastore.  Looking to add a FC SAN as primary storage and use the NAS for backups and secondary storage.

  The installer includes 3 x servers HP DL380 hosts.  Recommendations for an entry-level SAN FC?  Want a unit that enables the direct connection of the 3 hosts through 8 GB FC.  Require only 12 max motorization and would use only 8 disks to start.  Budget will be 20 k $ or less for cables, discs, 3 FC HBAS and SAN.

  This likely tip of the problem. I bet that your computer has a microphone, which is connected to the Realtek card, and that's what you record with. You will need to turn off the microphone so your Realtek can see and use the externally connected microphone.

  I would look at control panel > system > hardware > Device Manager > sound, video and game controllers and see what is listed. I have sides that your Realteck is hooked up to a microphone. You may need to explore your exact computer with the mfgr., to see how to disable the microphone.

• General question: what is involved with a DBA position entry level?

  I hope I've put this in the right forum. I was hoping to get feedback by those in or near the field to get a better understanding of the responsibilities and requirements for entry level DBA work. (What is a "I need a job", I did not).
  
  I don't know there is a wide range of difference depending on who you work for. So, I guess I should post a more specific question, if any feedback is greatly appreciated. I don't need to know it is to meet the education requirements, I have that down.
  
  Number of questions:
  -With an "entry level" position, commonly how one should be in SQL and PL/SQL?
  -Would you spend more time working on isolated tasks, or management of database encompassing all the?
  -One would spend time to work in other languages?
  -Would one spend a lot of time on the architecture and design of DB?
  -Other than the server (and associated material general network) is there any other material can be expected to work with?
  -"Beginners" would require a vast maintenance, troubleshooting, and hours of coding?
  -In general, is "entry level" a post of Assistant?
  and finally
  There's anything like that, you wouldn't expect not as a requirement, but is often in the field. Such functions often passed down that one would not expect, or additional skills that would be expected not to in general.

  It depends on what you know already - master (or at least become quite good at) before entering the DBA work.
  It depends on how your store is set up.
  It depends on what is needed at the moment.
  It depends on if the shop you can (has a place for you) with your skill set.

  There is no standard for what makes a DBA. Not really. No s/n, at least no that last a very long time, never turns down a task because it is not DBA job to do. Therefore, the best DBA (very useful) are quite versatile in what they know and what they do.

• Problem of current drawing of digital entry into PCI-6220

  We have card NI PCI-6220 mounted on card PCI-Raiser in a windows PC mini. We are using 8-channel digital input P1.4 - P1.7 and P2.2 - P2.5 to take a few entries of our entry card.

  When the computer is turned on then everything works well and we get of the digital inputs in Labview. The problem is that when the computer is off the digital inputs on current drawing of early card PCI-6220 and due to this voltage regulator IC on our card entry begins to heat upward.

  This problem occurs only when the PC is turned off, in a State that everything works fine.

  We will be grateful can anyone suggest a solution to our problem.

  I'm not familiar with this part OR special. But maybe there is protection on the output diodes. Usually, these diodes are connected since the entries on the power rail.

  In case the power rail is 0V (or below the input voltage supplied in them), the LEDs will be put and feeding current in the power of the PC rail, attractive and current of your external device. If this unit has a push-pull, HIGH level output configuration there will be excessive current from the power supply where the outputs are short-circuit or almost short as it will be in the configuration described above.

  I have no immediate solution except for additional hardware as the optocouplers, the outputs of your device from the inputs of the unit NOR the decoupling.

  ASO does not accept entries from parent level.

  OSI does by default. However just because it is, does not say that it is a good idea. I imagine that someone will chime in with more details.

  recently, my greatest pain is the process of upgrading a remote iPad (Yes, for old people like my parents). So if I have an iPad set up in a specific way and there is an update to iOS, it restarts and goes through a series of Questions and comments. I don't mind (it's a lie, I DON'T MIND). For literate people no gadget, it is frustrating and therefore for someone by train - remote to help regain access. The Question is: can we have a configuration that goes through an iOS update WITHOUT asking one thing? Maybe an oke pop-up asking 'agree' with setting level and all other Q later? No PIN code of installation ask if I hadn't any prior to installation? I mean, if you please, seriously? I have install i-device in a specific way and I LIKE IT like that. Include a button in the installer to accept all license agreements or agreements after an upgrade without asking. Unless I have clear. PLEASE? I guess anyone who support parents or grandparents remotely includes part of the simple upgrade...

  I just have to start a business (yesterday) and have my work cut out for me. My predecessor was sacked but poor management and lack of planning.

  I do not have a budget right now but I am looking in the area between this project and 10 k $-$20 AUS needs to move quickly.

  Currently, I am interested in the HP Lefthand P4000 series but have also sought to Bay EqualLogic PS4110XV 3.5 "10GbE iSCSI. I didn't price on either and maybe not what is needed here.

  Take a look at the makings of Nexenta.  Might be cheaper for your uses (although with a little less resilience)

  That being said, take a look at the e - its specially designed for environments like yours (cheap, easy to use/install) and shed light on support costs.  It's not like buying a VMAX.

  It is certainly not that.  Or he is promoted as such.  Of course, because of all the different browsers and versions of each still in use, there is no such thing as WYSIWYG, nor was it ever.  HTML elements writing system that promotes itself that WYSIWYG is lying.  Dreamweaver is a professional quality writing system which will hurt you if you try to use it without a fair understanding of HTML and CSS...

  Since the design is very simple it was not so difficult to begin to 'draw' boxes.

  You are clearly not the only one who thinks that.  Probably 50% of the posts on this forum are to ask for help to dig the hole that this approach Gets the poster in.  It may be unpleasant to devote day to the tedious (and erroneous) alignment of objects on the screen to find that you have yourself painted into a corner and must tear away everything you've done and start again.

  This is not to say that visualize your layout as a series of boxes is false. In fact, it is the essential step in thinking about how to build your page.  But once viewed, the next steps are what requires an understanding of HTML and CSS.  The page is built by stacking of these 'boxes' one atop the other, floating, some in place, standing, of other margins and padding, making some backgrounds of images, other first plans, and slowly but surely the page meets.  Note that I didn't mention at all positioning.  It is not a page layout tool - I give you fair fair attention, as you mention in your next sentence.  Most professional sites use never one positioned element.

  However, who do you think could a good place to start sketching out this site? I mean the positioning divs and so on...

• How to set the entry level of voiceover?

  I use Soundbooth to record my voiceover work. My equipment includes a MacBook Pro and a Samson CO1U microphone. It doesn't seem to be anywhere to adjust the input level (record). There is a setting of the slider in the Audio (Soundbooth) dialog box that you can access when you press record, but the slider itself is not accessible (i.e. When you try to drag, it is locked, and nothing happens). Anyone have any ideas? I would really appreciate it!
