  Hello! I have a desktop HP Pavilion p7 - 1236 s with Windows 7 Home Premium x 64. I got the factory settings last night using recovery discs HP bought for my specific model. Intel 6 series/C200 Series Chipset Family SMBus Controller - 1 22; 5 instances of resources of the mother; digital data processor; programmable interrupt controller; 2 instances of card system; and the system clock. Before you recover my system last night, I had uninstalled the Intel RST 11.0.0.1032 program version. I have a single 1 terabyte hard drive (no RAID) and use the computer for my home-based business, and I had read elsewhere that it is not necessary for such a situation. Following this recovery, I see that the pilot in the path: C:\SWSETUP\DRV\Storage\Intel\RST\11.0.0.1032; However, the program is not in the programs of the devices & or Device Manager. -What is originally is current driver problems? I'd be VERY happy any idea that you could provide.   I recently formatted my Presario C710TU laptop and installed Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3 and have had a bit of pain installed all the drivers... I have looked around the internet, the search, but was left speechless for days. Here are the details of the number:

  I have no sound at all and in device manager it is a lack of "PCI Device". I tried several drivers all with the result (not verbatim) "the MEDIA device is not found" which is most likely the wrong driver completely.

  My laptop did not come with any CD

  According to specification for laptop, your laptop computer came with preinstalled Win7 64 bit, so you must use the recovery for the installation of the OS image, but I assume that you didn't create drive recovery, right?

  When you are in Device Manager by looking at the disk for Standard dual channel PCI IDE Controller, have you tried to uninstall the drivers? (You may need to restart)  When your computer starts back it can recognize the non updated material.  If this is not the case, go back to Device Manager and install the driver.
