• How to use ANSI C / C++ to control a device USB - 6216 BNC

  Dear Sir or Madam,

  I want to use Visual C/C++ (but not the .NET language) to contorl a device USB - 6216 BNC and write a simple app for a small project in my lab. What I want to do is very simple. I want just to provide a signal to exit through a channle AO and saving an AI channel input signal. I do not want to LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio, so that this simple application can be autonomous and does not depend on LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio. Can anyone advise me on what I need to do to get there?

  My naïve thought is that I will follow the following steps:

  1. install the DAQmx drivers on acomputer,
  2. Connect the device USB - 6216 BNC to this computer,
  3. Make sure that the device is recognized by the computer, via the Windows Device Manager
  4. write a Visual C/C++ program to register the NIDAQmx.h and use the NIDAQmx.lib library. By the way. I found the files NIDAQmx.h and NIDAQmx.lib in the C:\Program Files x 86) \National Instruments\NI - folder DAQ\DAQmx ANSI C Dev\ that was automatically created for me when I installed LabVIEW on another computer in the lab m a few years ago.

  Please let me know if I missed something. In addition, if there is a code example for a simple task like this, it will be extremely useful.

  Hi all

  Is there a simple LabView vi to measure the frequency of entry TTL cable for the entrance/s, four counters available on a device USB 6363?  I have LabView 2014 FDS installed. I guess using 2 4 meters would be better than 1 for 32-bit resolution, correct?

  There is an example of a measure of frequency located in LabVIEW help-> find examples-> material-> DAQmx entry and exit-> entrance of counter-> meter - reading pulse width and frequency (continuous) .vi

  Take a look at it and see if that helps. There is also a very useful white paper on considerations to make when measuring frequency, you can find here:

• Trying to simulate the device USB-6366 (without success)

  I read through the tutorials DAQmx and MAX about the simulation of the device, but I can't yet find a way to effectively simulate the acquisition and generation of a signal using a device USB-OR-6366.

  I am a (given at the entrance of this VI) signal using DAQmx Write and then use DAQmx Read to read the signal captured from the internal memory of the card (which has a buffer of 32 MS). To do this, I created a task with DAQmx I feed in the writing block.

  I know that the approach is most likely wrong, but I can't understand not just how to do this in a simple way and documentation of NOR is anything but simple. All I want is to

  (a) test using 2 digital inputs to capture this signal by the device and then read what she has gained from its internal buffer

  (b) send the same signal to 2 digital outputs the signal output again.

  Yes! the simulation is designed to allow you to write a program and check that it works theoretically even if you do not have the material physically available. It has no interface programming to influence on the what the reading functions will return simulated data. And write the function has no notable effect anywhere, working as a receiver of data in nirvana. It is always useful because you can test software without getting all kinds of errors on the non existing hardware access attempt, but it has its limits, of course. However, a programming interface for manipulating that which and how the data are simulated, while it would be a very interesting feature, is almost certainly to complicated not only to implement but also to use.

• Meaning of the States LED tricolor on device USB-232

  It's more curiosity, rather than a problem.  I noticed that the devices USB-232/4 most recently bought that we have received seem to now have the status of Panel before LED that show * 3 * States (4 If you include "LED off"!) - yellow, green and Red now.

  I have not found anything whether in literature online to describe something as mundane as what led.  I always assumed that yellow and green are the indicators of mark/space.  Sometimes now they light up briefly in red, but I have not found to correlate to any abnormal operation.

  What is happening with this?

  My USB-5133 (digitizer high speed) is not detected by program, by a feature in Labview.

  I have 2 test systems PC using NI USB-8451 I2C communication.

  A reference device... 33 b... and the other a... 33D..., so I can't use the default fixed values.

  Also, I may need to run an exe have respected for others to use.

  Questions:

  1. it is not VISA. No VISA opening or closing.

  2. nothing in the compare pallete validates this reference of the device.

  3. no USB device attached validation (Are You There).

  Up to now

  1. a successful simple i/o operation can check "Are You There". I chose Dig I/O read a bit.

  2. #1 above also validates the reference of the device.

  Is there a smoother, faster way to do this? Windows operating system does not record stuff USB etc... ?

  Get the device USB-8451 reference in MAX.

  My laptop is running Windows 7. I loaded the drivers PL2303. The Manager of said devices usb-serial comm port works. Set at 9600 baud, 8 No 1 order no flow.
  The GPS is a Garmin etrex Euro software version 2.06. GPS version model 156 206.
  I communicate successfully with the GPS unit via an DB9pin port at the back of my office. 9600 8 No 1 Garmin format.
  When I added the USB cable series to communicate via a usb port the "EasyGPS'program cannot read the GPS.

  I down loaded the PL2303 drivers for my desktop (XP) and the same problem occurs.

  I get the message ' device working properly "for both laptop and desktop."
  There is however no communication to the GPS.
  I tried again via the DB9pin port and communication are OK.

  Any Suggestions

  I understand that some devices may not charge, I want to make sure that the voltage is 5V for devices usb and not 19.5V, since there 'or' on the label.

  I tried it on a tablet of 5V and it seemed to load correctly: nothing caught fire. Which is in any case an authoritative answer.
