Dictionaries missing in iOS 9

I have no dictionaries available in my iPhone. I'm in iOS 9.3.3, but I think the problem started when I was on iOS 8.

If I select a word in an application (for example, Safari) and on it, then select 'set', it says "Not found definitions."

When I then click 'Manage' there is no listed dictionaries.

I tried to restart, change languages and reset the settings, nothing helped.

I have seen other people have reported this problem in the apple stack Exchange site in the last days:

-3-2-9-3-3-iPad-mini http://Apple.StackExchange.com/questions/248018/Empty-List-of-dictionaries-iOS-9

g http://Apple.StackExchange.com/questions/206413/dictionaries-on-iOS-9-not-Workin

How can I get my dictionary back?

What region and the language is your iPad on?

  • "Slide to Unlock" missing in iOS 10

Got my iPhone 6 s upgraded to the new iOS10 and the kind of love him so far with a few basic things missing that are really bothering me. "Slide to Unlock", it was a legacy feature iPhone since its inception. By pressing the button Home to unlock is not at all cool and would reduce the life expectancy of the solitary button in the device. Yes, I know, we can roll back to touch id unlock, but what happens if I don't use either that or my device isn't a contact id. Can I ask Apple (including John and Tim) Please give us an update soon that could have an option to return "Slide to unlock". I don't know there are millions of people who are not like that.

    Pending an update soon

Try these general steps. They could help.

1 reset your iPhone by pressing and holding the sleep/wake and home buttons.

2 disconnect you from your iCloud account and reconnect again.

You may want to check that

    1. you select no restrictions in the settings - General.

2 your employer has no restrictions for you installation in settings > general > profiles & Device Management.

    3. you don't have any work email accounts which can put these restrictions as well.

  • Missing in iOS sketch-based feature 9 on iPad 2?

I always use my iPad 2 and that you have installed iOS 9 on it. It is not too bad, but I noticed that the draw function doesn't seem to be available in the Notes application. Did someone other that noting on their own machine? The other new features of Notes are there.  Maybe the bigger chip just can't handle the graphics.

Update: I see that this has been answered in another thread.

    Hi rick7,.

For the benefit of other readers, I just wanted to include this resource about the new features of Notes for iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan:

Upgrading of your notes with iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan
    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT204987

The new feature sketch notes is available on the iPhone 5 and later, iPad Pro, iPad (4th generation), all models of iPad, iPad mini Air 2 and later versions and iPod touch (6th generation). If you have an iPad Pro, you can use the pencil of Apple with the Notes application.

A profile will be visible under the general if there is a profile on the device. Normally, you must click on a link provided by the person who is asking you to install such a thing, which then gives you the option of placing this profile on your iPhone.

    Hello

I was testing my new Setup DKIM (thanks the kind people at the counter of topic for the implementation of DomainKeys/DKIM on OS x 10.8.x Mountain Lion server...) and I see the DKIM signature on some posts and not others when I get emails from my server to gmail.  I narrowed down it to messages IOS is native, but only those of my own OS X Server 5 accounts.

Signed examples: (as seen on a gmail account (gmailacc1) using OS X mail indicate headings)

    gmailacc2 to gmailacc1 of MACBOOK

Hi - I made recently of DKIM on my recently installed OS X 10.11.2 set-up + installation OS X Server 5.0.15. Was on Mavericks + Server 3.x but had done before clean install.

I found the site with information for the installation of DKIM I followed, with some minor changes - and it worked directly at the exit.

As you mentioned that you found a different result from an iOS device to a Mac I just tested my iPhone (had done with Mac during Setup) and it went very well.

There is actually a website, you can send an email and they send back you an email with a very detailed analysis. Here is the summary they send, it's the result of my test of the iPhone.

Let us know how you go with the test.

  • iOS 10 music App sorting

While I have never exactly been impressed with sorting inside the music app, it seems they have worsened with the update.

I want to sort by Album year of the artist. Is this possible or we are doing just the bare minimum?

I came here looking for the answer to this question also.  The ability to sort the albums of artists per year now missing in iOS app music 10.  This is a deal-breaker for me and I don't see myself using the application if I can only sort by album title.  Apple... Please bring back the ability to sort by year!

  • iOS 9 Dictionary Manager does not work

The dictionary built into iOS 9 does not work. When I select a Word and press 'Set,' the dictionary pop-up and reads, "No definition found," so I tap on "Manage" in the lower left corner, and it takes me to another screen where should be the list of dictionaries, but instead, I have an empty list. The "back" button and the gray divider lines appear but nothing else, so I'm not able to download dictionaries. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Exactly the same problem - cannot manage dictionaries on several iOS 9 (9.3.3) devices (not delete or download features available).  I tried to reset the settings, add/remove languages, access applications different and same result (handle no longer works).  Apple has removed support for dictionaries?

  • exporting/sharing slide show by Photos of iOS

This morning, I took a series of photos on my new iPad Pro 9.7 ". When we returned, I looked at them and idly clicked on 'slide show', I had never used before. I found only one) you can choose from different themes with built in music and b) hook it upward at the TV and watch it there. All very cool.

I tried to find a way to save/export the slide show exactly as it was. Starting a project in iMovie did not and I do not have anything cloud related, so it's on. I tried each option/button I could find, but could not understand if there is a way to export/drop to my iMac. I am able to send the photos - but it's not what I'm wanting to do so; Slideshow theme I was using was really cool and it's how I would like to export (as one/loan from finished slide show).

FWIW, couldn't find anything directly relevant in the user guide.

Anyone with ideas? If someone thinks it would be better addressed in the forum iPad (but there is no subcategory of Photos), please moved it.

As far as I know, there is no way to export a slide show of Photos iOS.

He was able in iPhoto iOS. We can share a slide show on a Web page and it fold online, but the creative sharing - books, slideshow options, newspapers Miss pictures iOS.

Not even iCloud library transfers slideshows between devices.

You could try only to recreate the slide show by Photos of the tor on your Mac.

  • IPhone volume button doesn't work is not as trigger

    Hello

I was impressed by Lightroom Mobile on my new iPhone 7 more, but everything ended with a major feature missing.
Using the touchscreen for trigger is really awkward, so for years all iOS camera apps allow you to take a picture by pressing the volume button. In this way, you have a completely different handle and more stable on your phone, essentially using it as a regular camera.
For some reason, it's missing in iOS Lightroom. I hope that this will be addressed soon in an update. I'm really looking forward to use Lightroom as my default camera app, now is not ready yet.

In addition, the switch between the scale and telephoto is very slow, with a noticeable pause. On the application of default instant sound camera. Not a deal breaker, but I wonder why this delay happens.

  • iOS 10 iCloud 'Show on home screen' missing?

I have 10 IOS and iCloud enabled on my devices. I went to select the option "Show on home screen" iCloud Drive so I could see the icon on my home screen. For some reason, the option is missing? A partial screenshot has been attached to this post for reference.

On my iPad I had already opted to show earlier. It is always visible, but the option to toggle on and off the home screen is missing. On my iPhone, it wasn't showing before and when I went on the menu where normally we he had disappeared. iPad is iPad 2 air and the iPhone is an iPhone 6. All have iOS 10 and computers have the new macOS.

It was removed as part of the iOS 10 and now it just missed to appear on your home screen.

  • Good news. The ability to download IOS dictionaries is back.

    Download them while you can.

They are not likely to go POOF!

    CONCLUSION of CAUSALITY:

Since they appeared as if by magic, without the need for an update of iOS, someone at Apple forgot to fill the slot that made the list with the actual dictionaries. When they put them in place = Voila! A wrong PATH to the location in iOS would have necessitated an update of iOS to fix.

    Elementary, my dear Watson.
