Did I lose Apple Watch data if I reset my iPhone?

Greetings,

I bought iPhone 6s and want to synchronize the activity and health data history for this new phone with no other data from my old iPhone. So, I deleted all my apps and data from the old iPhone. Now, I want to do a factory for the older iPhone reset so I can make a clean backup that contains data of historic activity and health only.

If I do the wipe the phone completely, I'll lose data Apple Watch?

Best regards

Salah

Hello Salah,

Thank you for contributing to the communities of Apple Support.

Congratulations on your new iPhone! It seems that you prepare transfer data to the new device.

If the plant reset you your iPhone, all data will be erased. I'd say no pairing your Apple Watch of your old iPhone first, as mentioned in transfer the contents of an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on a new device:

Before you start

  • If you have an Apple Watch and you are about to move the contents of a new iPhone, you must cancel the pairing of your watch from your current iPhone first. Unpairing automatically backup your Apple Watch. Now you are ready to set up your new iPhone. After that, you can pair your Apple Watch with your new iPhone.

Since you've already deleted the other data and applications on your old iPhone, I recommend the suite of measures to transfer the contents of an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on a new device after you UN-pair the watch. This will ensure that the activity and health data are transferred to your new iPhone.

See you soon.

  • Perform the actions that I record with my sync to Apple Watch to health app on the iPhone

I've always wondered to this topic, so lets say go for a walk with only my watch and without my iPhone. Once I get home I synchronize my watch with my phone, all the steps I did without my phone will be on my dashboard health app or not? If it is anyway I can do synchronize?

    Thank you

    Mike

    Hello

Yes, steps recorded by your watch will be shared to the health app automatically after your watch has reconnected to your iPhone.

Health and fitness data from any other source you can add over time (for example, blood pressure monitor, scales, etc.), the iPhone and Apple Watch are grouped within the health on iPhone app. Combined data is reflected in the application of health dashboard, which also adjusts the results (for example, the number of steps) to avoid any double counting of data from different sources.

  • Apple Watch does not connect to the iPhone 6

After updating my iPhone to IOS 9.3.3 6 all my bluetooth devices registered were gone including my Apple Watch. Now, it appears under "other devices" so I can't connect it. I already started my bluetooth and off and reset my iPhone but nothing worked. Any suggestions? Thank you.

    Hello

Your watch is not supposed to be listed under "Other devices" on your iPhone (settings > Bluetooth), but it should be included in the section "my devices".

To check the connection status of your watch to your iPhone, go to the eye of settings on your watch:

    • When you view the time on your watch dial, slide up from the bottom edge of the screen, then swipe left / right until you find the glance of parameters. This will specify connected or disconnected:
      • Connected and a symbol of green phone in the upper right shows that the watch is connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth.
      • Connected and a green cloud symbol indicates that your watch is disconnected from your iPhone via Bluetooth, but rather connected (as a backup) to a known Wi - Fi network.
      • Disconnected shows that your watch is disconnected from your iPhone and is not connected to a Wi - Fi network. The symbol in the upper right corner will be a red telephone with a line through it. The same symbol will also see the top of the watch face.
    • Slide down again to return to the watch face.

the watch displays all the my iphone (icloud) calendar entries

When I add an entry to the lookout with Siri, it only appears on the watch and not on icloud / iphone. the difference between the titles coming from icoud and the one with the watch have a different color. This means that they are in different calenars, but I can not choose the type of calendar when I add an entry with the watch.

    Happens wrong here?

    Help, please!

    Hello

When you add a new event calendar using Siri on your watch, it will be added automatically to your calendar by default (unless you specify a different timetable during the creation of the event). To see what calendar currently selected as your default calendar (and, if you wish, to change):

-On your iPhone, go to: settings > Mail, Contacts, calendar > default calendar.

Having noted what timetable was initially selected to check if this calendar is currently hidden on your iPhone:

-On your iPhone: open the calendar app > tap calendars (low center) > check if this calendar is registered and if it's hidden. To turn if a calendar is displayed or hidden, tap on it.

Calendars can also be shown / hidden in iCloud:

    iCloud: Customize the calendar view

    5. Yes - business apps works continuously in the background. You don't need to record the activity through the application of the workout.

6 estimates depend on the activity of your personal information, who entered when you set up the application. The watch can also be calibrated (see link below) to improve the accuracy of estimates related to the activity.

  • Apple Watch & My Fitness Pal - combination?

Did a search, and do not know if this is requested before.

Currently, I have all of the Apple Watch and health kit sync for my friend a discount in the form.  However, it is not only synchronize my workouts, but also my step. Is - this cumulation?   In other words, I think that the Apple Watch keeps track of the steps, but also the data of my training. If I'm on a treadmill, does not and the workout?  I tried to find a complete guide on how to set up my boyfriend of the ability to work with the Apple Watch online, but I can't seem to find anything.  I want to just make sure there's no counting calories for my workout, along with the steps. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

Your steps, or other data related to the fitness are counted twice by Apple applications.

Health and fitness of Apple Watch data, iPhone, and other sources (for example, third-party applications) are grouped within the app to health on the iPhone, which allows you to adjust the results to avoid any double counting of data from different sources.

Measures taken during a workout again will be reflected in the application of the activity on your watch, but health app does not count them double by adding the app to training data with the data stored in the application of the activity.

  • Steps and distance of duplication of the iphone and Apple Watch

Hi, I would like to know how to disable back into shape and the movement for enforcement of health on my iphone affects the calculations of distance and stage of Apple Watch. IM turning off this option because I found his duplication my distance and steps. My Apple Watch will cease to use my iPhone's gps location?

I know health app must analyze the data a prioritize my Apple Watch. Instead, his duplication in the info on my iphone and Apple Watch. Im not using third party applications. I do not fear the deactivation of the fitness and followed by my iphone only if my Apple Watch will receive my iphone gps information when I workout.

    Hello

Health and fitness of the Apple Watch data, iPhone and all the other sources are grouped within the app to health on the iPhone, which allows to adjust the results to avoid any double counting of data from different sources.

When several sources are available, the application of health uses a single data source for updating your consolidated data. This source is selected according to the order of priority that you set (or that was created automatically - for example, by default, rank devices Apple above sources third party).

  • Apple Watch activity App

My wife is a new user and today after 10 minutes to workout on an exercise bike (bike inside) I forgot to get out, and it was 3 hours 16 minutes before it was turned off.

As a result he has recorded 3335 active kilojoules instead of about 210.

Is anyway to remove this workout, or at least change?

Also is it possible to be able to view a summary of the different activities over a longer period, as the 12 months (or almost) that I used my watch? Can I get this from Pacer but how do I get shows?

Both watches are running the latest version of the software.

    Hi John

It is not possible to edit training via the application in activity or training quarter of your wife.

Health and fitness of the Apple Watch data, iPhone and all the other sources are rather grouped and managed through the health app on his iPhone matched.

    To remove the workout:

-On the iPhone of your wife, in the application of health (icon: red heart on a white background), go to: data on health (tab) > Fitness > training > view all data > swipe to the left on a workout, and then press the trash / remove.

  • How do you communicate with the Apple Watch

How do you communicate with the Apple Watch

    Hello!

Welcome to the Apple community. I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say "communicate" with the Apple Watch, so I'll give you a few options that can respond to your request.

    (1) the Apple Watch supports Siri, just like the iPhone and the Mac. To apply, simply say "Hey Siri" while the wrist is triggered, and your watch will respond. Alternatively, you can hold the digital Crown and Siri will be activated. As soon as Siri is activated, you can ask him questions such as "what is the weather today" or "reminder", or "Let's start a workout."

    (2) you can manually send SMS via your Apple Watch by use of Siri, or opening the messaging app. That Siri send your messages, just say 'Hey Siri, send a text < name >' and Siri will open the Messages app and wait to talk to you about your message. If you want to move the Messages app manually, press the digital Crown and will take you to the home screen. In the home screen, select the Messages app (a green icon with a word inside bubble). Any existing message log must appear, and you can type on a given message log and choose to respond.

    (3) If you want to place a phone call using your Apple Watch, you can say "Hey Siri, call < contact name >". If you have several numbers for a particular contact, Siri will ask you what number you want to call. You can also you can present a more specific request like 'Hey Siri, call < contact name >, < number >' with the number favorite is 'work' or 'House' or 'mobile' etc. So the demand go something like "Hey Siri, call Barbra, House".

If you are still at a loss, with regard to the types of orders that Siri will accept, you can always ask. Say 'Hey Siri, what can you do?' and she will give you a list of commands that she will answer to the.

If all goes well, I addressed your question. If not, please provide a little more information and I'll do what I can to help you.

    Good luck!
