Did I lose my address book if I switch to Windows 10 W7?

I did when I went from XP to W7, and I don't want to repeat. Not smart enough to find how to back up my address book on my external hard drive!

I don't know if this will help, but I used export. Open your address book. In the Tools drop-down menu click Export. I recorded it on my external drive of 'E '. You need to give it a name that you will remember. It is an LDIF file. I checked Wikipedia. The file system has been around since the early 1990s. The LDIF file is independent of Windows. Wiki says it's a text file. I opened it in Notepad. I think that you will have no problem. Worst case you can copy and paste the entries in the respective fields there. LDIF type into a Google search field. The Wiki link is there on top.

Since you have my address book store, I guess that's how the hacker got. I changed my configuration, but there are still opinions in the area of delivery is not and others from people who did not recognize it as malware and tried to open the pdf file. I tried to find a way to report to you, but this seems to be the only way.

How is it related to the Firefox web browser?

Firefox does not have email or have an address book, nor did Mozilla Store your address book.

If you use Firefox to access your e-mail, you use "webmail". You must seek assistance from your service provider or a forum for this service.

What is strange, is that I have now no real contacts in there either... Now, I have backups time machine so im not too concerned, but why would they dissappeared & where can I get them back? I think it happened when I updated to yosemite a few months back...

I should perhaps update to capitan & see if it works?

    Update will not help.

When you open Contacts, click display in the menu above and make sure you are showing your groups. If it says 'Show groups' in the view menu, click to show the sidebar of groups.

Once you see the side bar, you should see similar groups to:

You want to click on the group "all on my Mac" to see if your Mac Contacts are still there.

  • What is the best Forum on Windows address book

I'm looking for answers to change the address book windows, the maximum size of the fields and how I might be able to import all or part of my address book Palm OS in the Windows address book. What is my best forum for this information please? Abradaxis

I don't think that the Windows address book may be configured the way you want.  However, it would be an appropriate forum for such a discussion.

If you can export your data from Palm in one of the formats that the interface Windows address book can import, then you must use this format.

  • Address book so that I can make labels

I don't have outlook, but I was wondering if there are other options for an address book?

    Hello

Windows Vista comes with a built-in email client called Windows Mail. You can use Windows Mail as an e-mail client to send and receive e-mails. Aside from Windows Vista, has a feature called Windows Contacts, which can be used to store and manage your contacts. Please check the mentioned link for more information about Windows contacts below:

  • How can I import my old XP address book to the Contacts list in Windows 7?

I can't import my old xp address book into the new contact list in windows 7.  Is this possible?  Thank you, Käthe

    Hello

Windows in Windows XP address book has been replaced by Windows Contacts in Windows 7.

If you have performed a custom installation of Windows 7, please visit:how restore personal after having performed a custom Windows Vista or Windows 7 installation

To get the address book from Windows XP to Windows 7, you need to export the list of contacts of the Widnows XP computer first and then import the file to Windows 7.  If you want to export the address book from Windows XP and import it into Windows 7, please see the following steps:

    a. launch Outlook Express in Windows XP and click on file > export > address book

    b. export the address book to a text (.csv) file

    c. Select Save the location and all the contact information you want to export, and then click Finish.

To import contacts in Windows 7, go to the link below and follow the steps:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/import-export-or-change-the-format-for-contacts

Note: You may only be able to restore the data from Windows XP to Windows 7 If you have performed a custom installation of Windows 7 without formatting the hard drive. If you have formatted the hard drive during the installation of Windows 7, you cannot restore the data.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • My messages get button disappeared and so did the address book button. Help!

the messages on the top get button disappeared. I also noticed that the address book button is missing. How can I get that back?

The two buttons that you reference are on the e-mail toolbar.
If you have also lost the Bar Menu press the alt key to bring up.

Select display-toolbars, then relight toolbars missing.

FYI: The ALT or F10 will reveal toolbars hidden in most applications.

  • I did a new address book list and added 12 emails. How can I view the separately?

Each of the new contacts and emails that I added to my "new list" in my address book appears in my "personal address book".
I want to check this list is complete, but I can't find a way to display it.
The personal address book icon shows a subdirectory under my new name for the list, but when I click on it it shows a blank page.

Contacts must be in the address book created in the list. He is not a second entry. It is a contact that has been added to a mailing list.

    This explains the mailing lists.

  • How did the majority of my messages have prefix * SPAM * even if I have them in my address book?

Most of my emails have started to come through with * SPAM * before the subject line. Where is this from-Thunderbird? It's more boring!

It makes no difference if the sender is in my address book, or if I leave hidden content. And even if I'm on the subject, why should I allow content hidden each time?

    Best regards, Penny

If you see the word 'Spam', then it is applied by the server (you will move to the coast server, but for minor irritations, it would be worth keeping) or you have installed a spam as Spam Assassin software and use it.
Thunderbird does not 'Spam' add to any email.
    Thunderbird uses the term "Junk".

Re, why should I leave the hidden content each time?
Thunderbird takes your life private in return very seriuosly.
    Please read:
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/remote-content-in-messages
    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Privacy_basics_%28Thunderbird%29

If you are certain that comes from the email, then you have a few options.
    When you see the message:
"In order to protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message.
There will be a 'Options' button to the right of the message.
Click on the 'Options' button to see fall selections...

To allow remote images in this email only:
Select: "display remote content in this message.

To information contained in all messages from this e-mail address:
Select: "allow remote content to the e-mail address.

If it is possible to permanently turn off this protection, it is not advisable. You can also change the e-mail addresses that you have selected as exceptions.
«Select: Edit distance content "options «»

It will open a small window called Options
In the upper part of the "content of Mail."
    To turn off permanently:
Select: "allow remote content in messages.

To check the exceptions list, click on the top of the page content of Mail 'Exceptions' button

If you make changes remember to click the OK buttons.

  • Strange behaviour of my 45.5.1. with regard to the address book

This happened today, out of nowhere I started to email. I clicked on WRITE as usual, then: and now where I typed the first letter of the address of the recipient, which was 'c', I got a drop-down list of my address book complete, arranged with addresses beginning with c first email, then all the rest who have 'c' somewhere in the address, then the rest. It happens to any letter I start with. What on earth I did (so I wouldn't do it again) and how can I disable it? PS: The new destination address is not in my address book, there is no shortcut, some inconvenience. When I managed to tap on the address book entry, the new address appeared in bright red. The only frame of reference I have for it is Christ's words in an old copy of the New Testament, I had. Is that where I should make my appeal? But seriously, I find a link that might have instructions but no luck, so any help will be much appreciated.

Seizure semi-automatic is not new but I just thought that you have ever used it and in the update process, it has become allowed. (I agree that Thunderbird will change frequently or that he loses all settings during upgrades. We have users who lose toolbars, or their connection fails, because a checkbox somewhere has changed its State during an upgrade).

    http://SmallBusiness.Chron.com/remove-email-auto-fill-Thunderbird-63867.html

It had not occurred to me that he could be disabled, or someone would.
