  Yes, you can... depends on the software vistualization... running linux in windows is the best option you have... the other way around is a bit complicated

• Enhanced VMotion between Intel processor models

  Slowly, we have extended our VM environment over the past two years. However, we do want to make a major leap of older models of Intel processors for the newer models. Therefore, we would like enable VMotion improved on our ESX host.

  I read in the KB Article #1003212, which was quite useful. However, I guess I'm a little unclear about what if our old processors will be able to VMotion between some of the latest processors from Intel.

  Currently, we use the Intel 5100 Series (Woodcrest) (part of the family of Merom) processors. Based on the maps in the Article, we can vMotion between 7300 (Tigerton) or 5500 (Nehalem)?

  For what it's worth, we are running ESX 3.5 u4. However, we have all intentions on the upgrade to vSphere in the future near semi.

  VCA is the solution and could be the use of the latest versions of ESX 3.5.

  You must enable at the cluster level, in an empty cluster.

  In the official document VMware "vsphere-51-configuration-maxima" or "vsphere-55-configuration - maximums.pdf" in the section "ESXi host maximum rates------Maximums calculation" exists in the elements:

  "Maximum CPU------logical CPU for each host ' (vSphere 5.1: 160;)   vSphere 5.5: 320)

  and

  "Machine virtual maximums------virtual CPU by host ' (vSphere 5.1: 2048;)    vSphere 5.5: 4096)

  Question: what is the difference between the two?

  And a more complex thing to maximum rates:

  Virtual machines per host: 512

  Number of hosts per cluster: 32

  Therefore, the cluster may be Virtual Machines (maximum): 521 * 32 = 16384

  But in the document, we have only 4000 VMs in maximum.

  I understand your question as difference between 1. logic virtual CPU vs / by the hosts and 2. cluster/host Max County VM.

  Consider the case below;

  2 servers ESXi - 20 mV

  ESXi taken 1-4, 2 cores / socket

  ESXi 2-8 Sockets, 2 cores / socket

  Now here number of CPU logic-(4 x 2) + (8 x 2) = 24

  20 virtual machines - 2 jacks, 2 core / socket

  Virtual CPU count - 20 x (2 * 2) = 80

  Hope your first confusion is clear now.

  And a more complex thing to maximum rates:

  Virtual machines per host: 512

  Number of hosts per cluster: 32

  Therefore, the cluster may be Virtual Machines (maximum): 521 * 32 = 16384

  But in the document, we have only 4000 VMs in maximum.

  Why?

  This means that even if you have 32 Guest and each host can accommodate 512 VMs each the maximum number of virtual machines per cluster may not exceed 4000. And it does not mean that you can have a maximum of VMS (512 * 32).

• Thoughts on vmotion between Intel processors. Success?

  We currently have a cluster with processors Intel X 5540. I think to add a few servers with the new X 5650 processors. Has anyone tried for vmotion on these processors? According to vmware, the process is expermential and I need to apply the mask to the SSA to do. Just curious to know if anyone has had any success in the real world, before I have to buy new servers.

  Actually, my bad. Turn on I don't installed U1 on my server vCenter, so it wasn't able to recognize the CPU as a VCA couldn't. As soon as I upgraded vCenter to the latest version, all came good. VCA is now working with happiness between a X 5650 and two E5345s.

  The processor is clocked at 1.1 Ghz. There are different models made by Intel, including that which is supposed to be clocked at 900 Mhz. Apple does not use a customized version of the CPU. The differences between the M3 and M5 model is displayed on the Intel Web site. Among the differences are the M5 is clocked at a higher speed and the M5 is generally about 15-20% faster than the M3 at the same clock speed.

  Not really a question of technology as such, but here goes;
  I have a Satellite L30 10Y and in my quest for drivers (now all sorted), I found many other models of L30, including the 10v, L30 x 10, 10 p L30 L30, etc.. My question is, is anyone know the differences between these models? I searched for the specs on all variants and can see no differences were observed.
  Type of processor, memory, general specifications all look the same!

  I thought that the location can be the difference, my BIOS (L30 - 10Y) has only 2 languages available, English and Japanese.

  The differences between these models are the hardware configuration. For example L30 - 10V Intel Pentium 2080 CPU with 512 MB of RAM and L30-10 X has Intel Celeron M 440 CPU and 1 GB of RAM.

  But why you want to know this?
  Satellite L30 is older, and as far as I know you can t buy it more.

  I was going to buy the Envy 14 but recently on the refurbished HP UK site and found the Envy 14 with a huge discount contrary to what I was willing to pay. The only difference between the two is that the nine is a desire 1190ea refurbished is a desire 1050ef, my question is obvious... What is the difference?

  I would also advice on the purchase of a laptop used... is - this risky? is the macbook pro a better option?

  Because I don't know how much difference of cost that you look at, I can't help you there.

  But I can give you this link to a comparison side by side 2 processors, and you can decide for yourself if the one with the fastest processor is worth the extra cost. They are of the same family. Basically, we're just faster than the other.

  I already have all the information I needed regarding the difference between the use of a PC monitor compared to a HD TV flat screen.
  Thanks to all who responded. I have another related question, that I should have asked at the same time, but I just found my PC & did not know that my 21 "HP monitor has a VGA & HDMI connector, as well as my desktop HP pavilion 'P' series computer. I believe that the HDMI is for monitors capable of 1090 X 1200 HD, however the VGA is for the best score of my monitor resolution 600 X 900, is - this correct?
  I have an adapter that allows to my my (HP monitor cable) VGA connector to fit my HDMI connector on my desk. I'm wrong by plugging into the HDMI, rather than directly on my Desktop VGA connector? Or is the HDMI only for a higher (true HD) resolution monitor? Does still a difference in the views of quality, which connector I chose for my monitor? Or is it better to keep VGA to VGA, which is the type of connector and cable that my monitor provided with?  I guess I need to improve my monitor at a higher resolution of true HD, but it baffles me why they give me either on my low resolution PC HD monitor. I have an integrated graphics stock, which is not a beat regardless of what I am posting. I was planning on upgrading my monitor for a large screen size & true HD resolution. I have a 2.9 Ghz chip decent quad-core phenom on a MSI mainboard w update / 8G of ram, W/7 64 bit running. • Difference between left and right usb ports 2015 15-inch model.

  I recently bought a 2015 15 inch macbook pro with 2.5 GHz processor and 512 GB hard drive. IV used for only one month and I notice a difference between the left and right usbs. The base of the left usb IE the metal connector pins seem to be lower compared to the usb on the right side. Usb port on the left also seems to be a bit looser than the right, but hardly noticeable. IV barely used the usb ports and would like to know if it's the same for the other macbook pro users with the same model.

  The game is a concern, and I would take the computer to Apple for review. After all, you are covered by the warranty.

  My current MBP is that a 13 inch 2012 has only USB ports on the left side. My previous was a pre-Unibody 15 inches and I have not noticed differences in fit / release between the right and left USB ports.

  As I see the only difference is probably available 3G antenna. Tecra M11-h-13 has 3G antenna inside and Tecra M11 - 10F comes without 3G.
