Difference between saved bookmarks (.) JSON versus .html)
I am so confused with this question and ended up wasting hours when I tried last restore from saved bookmarks. What is the difference between the. Favorites JSON and .html and when to use which? The .html contains information that the. JSON does not work? If I have both available, which is the way BETTER and easier to restore saved bookmarks? The last time that I ended up hours trying to clean up the mess when I restored the two bookmarks and finished with duplicates.
Hello cor - El please explain. Now I understand the difference and the purpose of the. JSON and. Favorites to HTML.

Impossible to import the bookmarks file (file is JSON or HTML)
Recently, I reformatted my laptop with a friend (works in), and from what I remember, he saved bookmarks via the function "import and backup / Backup".
When I went to import back into Firefox, and I sailed to the location of the file, it was apparently not recognized because it does not appear in the folder, in that I know that it is. While in this process, I noticed also that Firefox is either looking for a JSON or HTML file. When I looked more closely the backup file, I noticed that it doesn't have a file extension. When I looked at the properties of the file, it simply says "file". I went online looking for an online tool to identify the file and found TrID (http://mark0.net/onlinetrid.aspx/). When I ran across this identification software all that I got was:"The file appears to be crude/ASCII text. TrID is best suited for analysing binary files! »
As I don't see any option in Firefox to load this file type, I wondered what could have been hurt during the backup process.
I was able to open the file in Excel (just a hunch because it "seemed" be a text file based on the identification of online files). The file opened, useless of course, but at least it seems that the file is not corrupted in any case. Please could someone help me with this? I have all my links job search in this backup, and it would be a ton of effort to recreate all this!
My Info:
Windows XP Home Edition, SP3
Firefox 14.0.1Hi cor - el,.
Thank you! That solved! I remember years ago with a similar situation, but not Firefox and I thought to try this thing... but I guess I'm getting old... Laughing out loud
Once again, thanks a lot!

How to restore the saved bookmarks if they aren't .json?
A few weeks ago I backed up my Firefox bookmarks into the computer. Now my windows had to be relocated in case of emergency due to Trojans and all c (Windows), including the browser, was lost and now I installed again. But I tried to restore the bookmarks and I can't because it isn't a .json or .html file, it is just a file, it is said. How did this happen and what can I do?
Hello, how do backup you initially? When you have done so through built-in to firefox, you can simply try to rename the file in file.json (or .html in the format that you chose to export)...

I HAV already spent weekend on this issue. These bookmarks were all too important as those who have been saved during 4 years.
You have not described what you've done until then I put standard procedures to follow. If there are problems please answer and provide some details. I'm assuming you have located the file bookmarks.json & don't know what to do with it.
Depending on the version of FF are you using
- In 3.* * Select organize bookmarks
- 4. choose show all bookmarks
Select the menu import and backup at the top of the bookmarks/library window
Select restore - there may be a selection of dates;
at the bottom of the list, there will be an option to choose a file...
Click on that and for which you have registered your JSON file.
Select this file. -
When I export my bookmarks as an html file, I get a file json instead. How to make a html file that I can import into Safari?
Use bookmarks > organize bookmarks > import and backup > export HTML and make sure that you give the file an extension of .html file.

Difference between bookmarks per Page and the anchor icons
Hello
I use InDesign each year to update a large guide. I had sort of teach me how to use this software, but since I don't use not all year, I forgot things. One of them has to do with my favorites. I noticed that all my favorites have an icon of the page, but it has an icon of the anchor, like this:
First of all, what is the difference between them? And second, every time I update the Table of contents, anchor moves where I nested it all the way to the top of the bookmarks, right under the Table of contents, as follows:
Anyone know why this is happening? I think it has to do with the fact that this particular section is not explicitly listed in the Table of contents, but I don't want to have a bookmark for it. But I would like to embed the bookmark in the right position, what is shown in the first image in this post. Could someone help me this? Thank you!
I think that I thought about it. First of all, most of the bookmarks have was probably generated by the table of contents itself.
In terms of changing a bookmark of anchor text to a bookmark of the page, I realized that I had to get out the block of text, simply use the selection on the page and then create a new bookmark.
So I did, and now all of my icons are pages in the bookmarks bar. However, whenever I update the table of contents, he always puts this bookmark immediately under the table of contents. I think this behavior is because this particular bookmark (called sweeps Dates) is not actually included in the table of contents (by design). I have it in a different style to make the table of contents is not picking it up. But I guess since the table of contents generates all the other favourites, it sorts the update and then put just created this maually bookmark "Balaie les Dates" below, above the rest of the bookmarks.
If there is a case, I don't know if there is a work around specific to this situation. It could be one of these minor idiosyncrasies that I'll have to deal with. It is not a big problem to have to move whenever I update the table of contents, and I mostly just try to improve my understanding of InDesign in asking about this behavior.

What is the difference between the two publish to ftp host and export as html in Muse?
What is the difference between FTP publishing and export as HTML in Muse? When I had some problems with missing assets, I exported as HTML and fixed it, but it didn't update on the layout of the phone or completely on the desk until I published on ftp. Assuming that perhaps export just updates the files on the server? Thank you
Hi Brian,.
Site as HTML export will export just your Muse site on your desktop without making any changes to your site online, but when you select Publish to FTP, it publishes the changes you did for your website online.
Export to HTML format is mainly used when you want to use any external client to load your site on the server.
Refer to this document to better understand: Adobe Muse Help | Download a Site from Muse Adobe on a third-party hosting service

just changed my HD using XP. before the change, I've saved bookmarks in a file. I just put this file on my desktop and can't figure out how to reload all my previous Favorites in the new firefox. When I do a search under desktop, this file is not listed for import.
What should do?What is the name of the file? It must be something like bookmarks-2012-04-02 or bookmarks-2012-04 - 02.json. If she doesn't have the date in the name which is not the serious ones that may still be imported.
Try to open the history window now Ctrl + Shift + H, and then choose backup and import > import bookmarks in HTML for the .html file or restore > choose a file if you have the .json file.

I have a desktop Mac running 10.7.5 and tries to import favorites from Firefox on an old Mac running 10.3.9. I exported the file to bookmarks to a file html with success and copied this file to the new Mac.
The suggestion of using Firefox, I then tried to import the bookmarks into the html file but when I went to the bookmarks toolbar, there is no import option of any kind shown to proceed to the next step. What's wrong? In bookmarks (library) Manager is a tool bar with back and next button and three other buttons (organize, view, import, and backup).
- The first button (gear) is organizing with base change the menu items for the bookmarks
- The second button is the button in the view which allows you to change the sort order for the visualization of the purpose (sort is not permanently).
- The third button (Star) is the import and backup button that allows to save and restore a JSON backup and import and export an HTML backup and import bookmarks from other browsers.
Place each button to display the ToolTip or click on each one to see what they do.

Difference between the formats "save under".
In the option ' save page as ' there are two formats for saving Web pages in HTML format.
One is "save the complete page. The other is 'save page' HTML only.
What is the difference?Save as 'HTML' only saves only the code of the homepage without changing the code and does not record other files like CSS and JavaScript and images, so you can not open this page directly.
If you save the page as "Web page, complete" then Firefox saves the other files as well and changes the HTML page to load these items locally. If you want to open the page and think of it as when you visited the site, then you will need to use "Web page, complete" to save the site.

I'm not sure to understand the difference between the versions of 3.6 and many 9.0.1 version. I have much more trouble with this new version - actually had to uninstall it because it kept crashing. I understand that there are more bells and whistles, but what is the advantage of the most recent on this old reliable version?

Differences between M30 and M40/Power management
Hello!
I own a M30x and have a problem with the power management utility run by restricted users. (XP/SP2 teacher - 1.27.2.1 Toshiba power management utility.)
A restricted user cannot access the tool and the laptop runs in mode full power if it has power supply or battery.
In this forum I read that last power of m40 tool available under a restricted user.
So, the question is clear: what is the difference between laptops m30 and m40? Can I use on my m30 m40 energy saving without trouble?
TIA,
Georg
Hello George
As far as I know that the tools and utilities are not the same for each model or series laptop. The notebooks have different hardware configuration, and each tool is designed to work properly with the own series.
Optical, they are all the same or look like to, but I'm sure you may have problems using tool on your unit designed for another model of laptop.

Pavilion 10-n102ne: difference between the Pavilion 10-n102ne and 10-n102na
I want to order a cover for my device (Pavilion 10-n102ne), but did not, on the contrary, I think I found a similar device (10-n102na), so I was wondering what is the difference between these 2 models, not vs na, what it means. The recovery kit works on my device.
What is the differnce between Recovery Kit or by creating a windows recovery disk, and which should I choose if I want to completely format the system and install another OS?
Another question is that how do I backup my Windows 10 activation, or is it when I install freshly a Windows 10 the appliance will automatically activate windows? is the serial imprented into bios?
Awaiting your response
@ChristopherED
Welcome to the Forums of HP,
I hope you're wellIf I understand correctly you want to know about the difference between the Pavilion 10-n102ne and 10-n102na.
Here is the link with the characteristics of the two products (spot the difference):
HP Pavilion x 2-10-n102na
HP Pavilion x 2-10-n102neIt is not very different between the recovery kit or one created by your computer apart from the type of creation, if the media created on your computer do not work you can always get one from HP, but you cannot create a new computer because it allows only a creation of media recovery on your computer.
And the answer to your question about activation, you are right, that the activation code is printed/saved to BIOS if you do not have an option to save as.
If I helped you to solve the problem, feel free to give me a virtual h.o.t. by clicking on the 'Thumbs Up' icon below.
Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support. Have a great day!

What is the difference between the audiobook and podcast?
I have been in charge of research and research - can't seem to understand what is the difference between an audiobook and podcast?
They are treated differently on the "rocket"?
At the end of the PC, the difference is probably only in how works the subscription service. Podcasts can get updated automatically and old versions deleting automatically with itunes, mediamonkey, etc... On the "rocket", audibook bookmarking features may work differently, but I have not played with them. the "rocket" can read DRM from audible .aa files but your rocket must be bu Audible 'authorized' (what happens when you connect the "rocket" to your PC and run the Audible Download Manager). I never heard of podcasts with DRM, but that's neither here nor there.
