Difference in capacity SSD
Hello
Windows 7 64 bit update is close to 20 GB and 32 - bit set to day close to 8 GB.
I have a processor Intel X 25 120 GB, formatted according to the recommendations of 100 GB to let nearly 11 GB not formatted for SSD space empty.
Only Windows 7, Adobe apps and a few closer tooks 41 GB, documents, libraries, etc. are in the other HARD drive.
You can get the Intel Toolbox and do a test.

Hello
I intend to buy a card pci-express ssd for access/faster transfer, and I read the topics concerning the problem of booting from that ssd, but still did not understand much to be honest.
what I noticed, is that HP620 should work with older (like turbodrive Z), but not the based NAND, new Z turbodrive G2,.
or only with a few tricks.
now to my question.
Some people say, this new nand ssd pci - e cards require a boot uefi bios and a few options, I do not understand.
as I have a regular bios (not), is it true that you cannot boot from these new ssd expansion slot, or are there tricks like the passage to the AHCI and a few other options in the bios?
If this is not possible, I'd be limited to regular use SATA ssd, limited to 500 MB/s of bandwidth, right?
Thanks for any help
Chris
Found this info on the web;
"There are actually two versions of the player. The original version uses the familiar AHCI Protocol, while a new variant is the NVM Express standard. The model of the AHCI is compatible with a wide range of motherboards and available among a wider selection of suppliers. »
The version of NVMe is also supposed to be faster, but in reality, it is not much of a difference.
I think that you need a motherboard with a socket m2 is to see a real difference in speed compared to the old version of AHCI.
I understand that it is only the most recent Zx40 HP series range that supports readers NVMe but not sure 100%. It would certainly be a challenge trying to get one to work in a series of Zx20 HZ.

How to level a T61 HDD for one SSD without reinstall?
Hi all. I bought this ThinkPad, I write with back in 2008 (a T61 6465-CTO with Vista and Intel integrated graphics) and he has been working a lot to me since then. I had no problems with it and his equipment is still able to manage what I have to do. However, I wanted to move her to an SSD HARD drive is faster and snappier. I know that I have would be limited at SATA1 speeds with this camera if I don't want to change the BIOS (which I did not), but I think that even this would be a great improvement on the existing HARD drive.
To that end, I recently bought an SSD that their prices have dropped slightly (bought a new 120 GB SSD Samsung 840 for less than $100). I said SSD sitting next to me now but I did nothing yet because I want to make sure that I have the right to clone the old disk and swap in the new process. From what I understand instructions, I should:
1 turn on the computer, install the Samsung Data Migration Software
2. connect the SSD to a USB port via a USB-SATA Adapter
3 clone the main for the SSD connected HARD drive using the software of data Migration
4. turn the computer off, physically remove the old HDD and SSD in its place
5 turn on the computer and everything should be fact/same as before (with the exception that the computer has a new storage drive)Is this correct?
The HARD drive is encrypted so I removed the password for user/master I have to enter when it starts up, but what I have to do the same for the BIOS password that I am invited to when you turn on the computer? What the hidden; restore partition would clone too much or it would be lost. The HARD drive is in my opinion a 160 GB model, while the SSD is 120 GB but I have read that this difference in capacity should not be a problem since I'm using less of the new disc capacity (I have about 100 GB of free space on the HARD disk)?
Sorry for all the questions. I have very little experience when it comes to changes in the software/hardware and I really would like to avoid wasting it so I would appreciate any help from people who have knowledge fact how to do this successfully. Thank you.
The installation that you want to be cloning is optimized for spinning a player - not SSD - and you would have to align in a first time, disable the services later and again, you would not get the performance of a "clean" installation
You can use any disk Vista installation as long as it matches the version (Home, Pro, full) on your COA - the worst that can happen is that you would have to call MS and activate by phone.
I had the question why you want to the outdated drivers and other bloat Lenovo recovery partition on expensive SSD space as well, but it's your call. If you provision the reader - and I think you should - you won't initially that much space...
TRIM running manually is certainly a possibility, but not one that I'm particularly sharp, especially on a small disc of TLC as the Samsung you have. You will need to be on it for not to have slow down for analysis.
Good luck.

Update Compaq 6730 b SSD: SSD upgrade 6730
I think to upgrade my hard drive to an SSD laptops and adding a little more RAM. Has anyone tried this before? Is this possible? It would make a big difference to the performance of my laptop if I did?
An SSD that is sold as a kit of notebook expansion will be compatible with your laptop. Don't forget and buy a kit that comes with a SATA cable USB and cloning software. Buy the largest capacity SSD that's within your budget to upgrade.
Corsair and other SSD manufacturers sell kits of modernization for laptop. Go to a website like NewEgg.com to find the prices and availability of the SSD you have chosen.
This is just one example of what works in your laptop. Preferential Mypersonal is Samsung and Corsair.

SSD storage has increased the performance of EI?
What is the performance difference between:
SSD:
Capacity: 240 GB
Interface: SATA Rev 3.0 (6 Gb / s)
SATA Rev.3.0 reading speed: 450 MB / s
Records speed SATA Rev.3.0: 450 MB / s
vs
HDD:
Interface: SATA III (6 Gb / s)
Cache 64MB
Capacity of 1 TB
Shaft speed (RPM) 7200 rpm
Put the disk on an SSD cache makes a big difference.

MacBook Pro 128 GB SSD storage
What can I expect from the 128 GB ssd storage in terms of size of the OS and Microsoft office installed as well as software, very simple that I need for my daily use. will it be enough, or should I go for the 256 GB. On the other hand is the pro storage (model 2015) macbook upgrade possible (future upgrade of storage higher)?
If you store large amounts of data, it is preferable to use an SSD with a different drive.
the SSD should contain your OS applications and kernel, but if you are working with smaller text documents, spreadsheets and PowerPoints on the SSD storage do not have a lot to worry about and you can use data optimally with the speed that the SSD offers on HARD drive.
If you work with raw files of creative cloud, hi-res photography, video, Audio recording, a lot of family photos or a great iTunes collection consider a second disc more to keep these files on your SSD.
You can install an SSD that fits, but more large size disks are replacements for what you put there so you cannot pass a 128 'largest capacity SSD' than it is currently, you must purchase a 256 or 512 or 1 to and remove your 128 system.

Options of the SSD in late 2013 Mac Pro update?
Options of the SSD in late 2013 Mac Pro update?
Mac Pro has 256 GB which is almost full despite the displacement of all the large files (Photos, downloads, etc.) out of the disc. I'm at a point where the Player update seems to be a must.
OWC option seems a bit of a hack using a slower drive and a controller.
https://eShop.MacSales.com/shop/SSD/OWC/Mac-Pro/2013
MCETECH claims to use a new disk allowed Apple with trim shoring and the ability of bootcamp to use Windows (important to me).
There are eBay sellers who claim to use the running game in recent versions of the end of 2013 Mac Pro.
and
two sellers have a very high rating, but I don't trust eBay.
The MCETECH seems to ensure ongoing compatibility as it is a part of Apple.
Any ideas or experiences with the above or other good known options?
OWC option seems a bit of a hack using a slower drive and a controller.
I think you're bad read the OWC page. They propose to replace the internal SSD stick with their largest capacity SSD stick. The external box is only for you to continue to use the original USB key (perfect condition) as an external drive, if you wish.

Portege R700 - limits of SSD upgrade
Hello
I just bought a R700-184 and the plan is to Slingshot W7 Ultimate 64 - bit, 8 GB of ram and an SSD inside
My question is that it is a standard HARD drive, what are the limits and questions, I am likely to encounter the execution of this upgrade?
Thanks in advance

Hello
There is not much difference between the SSD and HDD so usually the laptop must be able to correctly handle the SATA SSD drive.
In some cases, an update firmware for the SSD drive is necessary, but usually it is provided by the manufacturers of SSDS -

Hello world
My poor old MP3.1 seems to be labour especially now with El Capitan so I thought that perhaps I should start by upgrading to SSD?
Here's how my Mac Pro is right now with my HD installed as follows:
Bay 1
Western Digital Black WD6401AALS 640GO (10 of Windows running and all other software)
Bay 2
Western Digital Black WD6401AALS 640GO (running El Capitan and all other software)
Bay 3
Western Digital Green WD10EZRX 1 TB (used for Windows 10 backups)
Bay 4
Western Digital Caviar 3200KS 320 (Time Machine backups)
External USB
Western Digital Elements 500 GB (Time Machine backups)
A few questions I have about it are:
- Should I buy more small capacity SSD use them for the operating system and store everything IE photos, movies and music on existing HD?
- Any software that is extra games and third-party programs should they be installed on the same disk as the operating system or HD?
If anyone has a suggestions I'd love to know and thanks a lot in advance!
I've updated my Macs to SSD 2. In both cases, I decided to become just big enough SSD to contain all my normal stuff, with room for growth.
I have more than enough knowledge to split my environment between several disks, but I didn't want the hassle.
But if you go with the House split, then enjoy iTunes and iPhoto/Photos option to specify where the library is, so you can move your files, music and photos on the other disk. Another thing, if the application does not support a pointer to the new home of folder, you can do using Unix symbolic links in your home, SSD that point to the other disk.
Just replace your device to normal boot together with a sufficiently large SSD, means also that you do not need to understand which disk is used to host the SSD while keeping the current for your big files disc.
If you have decided to split your home environment, then as you have completed all your slots, I interrupt the internal TimeMachine backup and just use the external drive (if you want backups Time Machine, put the TimeMachine drive in an external enclosure, or get a new external drive. Then re - purpose internal unit TimeMachine current housing for the SSD.

Guys, I bought this laptop from costco, it's a customized version, they order HP in bulk, I think. It is 1300 online, but 1,000 in-store.
Thus, this computer has a
Intel Core i7 6560u @ 2.20 GHz
16 GB ram ddr3
256 GB SSD Samsung NVME Mzvlv256
15.6 screen resolution inch 4 k
I'm just learning the difference on an SSD 2.5 and the new M2 passing through the pci.
If I'm technically challenged air it's because I am. I need help to know how to get down the lower lid too. It has only 6 screws. and stands in the lower part, not from the top with the keys. I wanted to see if there was another space for one SSD as 256 GB is not enough when I have 5 TB of music and videos on external hard drives in digital Western waiting.
I think not this laptop anywhere online, or anything close to it. It resembles a plu spectrum x 360. It's a phone envy. The name of the product is exactly what it says on the box.
Can I put an evo to samsung SSD 2.5 here? There's no drive of CDs. thank you. and how do I open this thing? I could only open half of the coverage.
Hello
I think there more than 6 screws. Please visit the page #26 of the following guide:

Compatibility of SSDS on IdeaPad laptops
Hello
There are a few posts on the SSD, but none that has answered my question and proposed general guidelines. That is why this thread.
1.)
How determine if their laptop model is compatible with a particular SSD?
2.)
I have an Ideapad y560p and I want to know if Intel 530 series 250 GB 2.5 inch ssdl or kingston hyperX 3K 240 sata iii SSD will be compatible with my laptop before I actually go ahead a buy a!
I asked the support of lenovo and they said y560p are not compatible with any SSD either, but I know that to some have swapped their drive hard y560p for SSD.
Thanks for your answer in advance!

The best way to choose an SSD is to choose by yourself with a bit of reading the situation on the evolution of the SSD market all the time with new controllers, new memory chips and so on. You must enter some comments and comparisons of recent SSDS and choose what suits your taste and your wallet best. Note, that in normal use you won't see much difference between most SSDS modern (except of course by markers). Even my 250GB 2.5 "TLC Samsung 840, which certainly isn't top-spec, is speed of light compared to any disk including SSHD.
As long as the drive you look at is size 2.5 "SATA connector, it will work. There are other things that you should consider what your laptop SATA revision supports and does support features like AHCI, NCQ, TRIM, but it will affect not the ability to use it. It will affect the speed and reliability of your SSD.
In addition, your laptop is Sandy Bridge, is certainly not old. I used SSD on a laptop of 2006 with Merom C2D. You shouldn't have any problems running any modern SSDs, including 240 GB Crucial or Kingston.
What I recommend is that you choose one that is reliable. As I said before you will be carried away by the speed everything that you choose. However, you will regret your decision, when your player will stop after a few months without apparent reason. It's the brand, duration of security and reputation comes in. I'm not walked SSD recently, but I don't think that Kingston is considered such a brand.

Laptop HP pavilion 15 t SSD upgrade M7H64AV
I would like to replace the existing 1 TB of HARD drive, or add an SSD for my:
Laptop Pavilion 15 t
Product number: M7H64AV
I found the following, which tells me that it is difficult to access the HARD disk (assuming that it applies to my laptop):
I also found this, which seems to indicate that I can replace the HDD with a SSD, but also mention of m2:
Q1. I want to confirm the requirements for the replacement of the HDD with SSD:
SATA 3?
9.5 mm thick
Q2A. This laptop has a SSD M.2 port/slot?
Q2B. If so, what is the physical size and other requirements are needed?
Q2C. If m2 exists, can be used to add an SSD while keeping the existing HARD drive?
Let me know what additional information is required.
Thanks for any help,
JP

Yes you can improve larger capacity SSD (512 gb) similar form factor: 2.5 inch thickness 7mm SATA, it should work even if HP has not tested it while he is out on the market.
