Different PC user name to the user license server names

Hi all

I encountered the problem that on some PCs running with a goal of training of RPF of generic user account, the License Manager will not grant one of my licenses in volume. How can I get LabVIEW to communicate with the license server with a different user name for the windows login name? I already tried tools--> user name, but it has not fixed the problem.

I'm always under 8.2.1 on these computers.

Oli

Hi Oli,

You have licenses based on the user or computer
licenses? From your description, looks like you have several
licenses based on users and multiple training computers where windows
usernames are all identical. Is this correct? If that's the case then
You should be able to grant a license in volume for this username but it
you won't concede more than one license under the same name. Change
LabVIEW settings will not solve this that this problem concerns more with Windows
and VLM. To resolve this problem, you can either go in windows and create
new usernames or you can call and we could you spent to get
computer license and you should be good to go.

    Hello

Busted a physical machine containing several virtual methods, including the license server. Now, I want to run several virtual machines, starting with the license server, but I got an error message: "there are not enough licenses to complete this operation." Help, please!

You can create a new license server (the installation file are on the CD of vCenter and VMware download site).

Place the file lic (get it from the backup of the old server or Web portal of licenses).

And point each ESX to the new license server.

  • Cannot Change The License server on server VC2.5

    Hi all

I looked around these forums but couldn't find a solution for my prob.

Our license server was wiped out by a member of our team at the time, but was replaced by another and all licenses we are reissued for the relevant esx servers.

recently, we have added two new esx servers allowing it added ok.

But when I try to add them to the VC, I said that there are not enough licenses available. I look on the license server and not lacking.

some still study showed that the VC still points to the old license server (there is not) and not the new licenserver...

I tried to change that [email protected] but the message warns me that there is no license no s on this server

I telneted to the license server and can connect, and all the esx servers are picking up the license there from there.

How can I get the Victoria Cross to licens to the new server?

Restart your virtual Center service.  If there is a license on the vc server, the old server, make sure that all of these services are stopped.  You plug your ESX host directly, or pass vCenter to configure licensing it?

  • Virtual Server Center down and as its also the license server, it cannot start

I have the virtual center server which is also the license as a virtual machine server. We had problems with the SAN today and decided to move this server to local storage in the case of other issues during the weekend, until we can diagnose/solve the problems of SAN. However, it will not start back up to stop the virtual machine to move (no installation storage vmotion again) and complains that cannot see the license server, the license server's so how can we start it?

I tested stop this server before and to work around the problem, then we have just activated evaluation mode, the server restarted, and he returned to the license server mode when it was high, but he used to do that now and I can not start any vm at all and since most of them failed because of problems with SAN storage I need to get this resolved as soon as possible. The difference between when we tested before and now 4 months and update 3 has been applied recently.

How do I start the server in its current or is configuration - it is no longer possible to use the evaluation mode and we do the licensing of other words, IE non-virtual?

    ......

I managed to start the server using VM Player running in another physical server, but this is not an ideal long-term solution, but out me an affair until we solve this problem.

Many people run in this mode.

As a backup, just getting up an another license server using your existing key.  Point the ESX host with virtual machine on it to the 'temp' license server by connecting to the host ESX directly with the VI Client.

    Back up the virtual machine.

Change license server address that you modified on the back of ESX host.

  • License Server Migration (update 3.5 to 4.1)

    Hello

Like many, I plan my ESX 3.5 to ESXi 4.1 upgrade.  I'll probably have lots of questions until I'm ready to move forward.  This is my first, which seems to be a simple 1 but I just want to confirm.

So until I am able to blow ESX 3.5 and install ESXi 4.1 on my hosts, I will need manage guests 3.5 4.1 vCenter Server.

Currently my Virtual Center Server 2.5U6 is also my license server.  VSphere upgrade guide, I need to install the license server on a new machine and manually migrate the old server to the new license file.

Not a big deal, but I was wondering:

If I could just leave the license on the old server, Virtual Center 2.5 Server (with all other services VMware has is stopped and disabled) and point the new vCenter Server for that?

    or

If it is preferable to install the 3.5 license server on the new vCenter Server, point to itself until I have all of my set hosts to level and can remove the installed 3.5 Server licenses and update licenses then?

You can go both ways. I usually prefer the first to avoid the installation of the old license on the new vCenter Server Server server, but is not really a big difference. Simply enter the location of the 'old' license server in the new vCenter Server 4 (for example [email protected]) license tab. That's all.

  • Can the License Manager load the computer license first, instead of the license based on users?

We have several machines in the lab with licenses computerized on them and a number of technicians who have licenses based on users. When he signed from time to time as themselves, instead of the generic service account, a technician of the License Manager fits on the machine their user account. Not a problem until they're trying to connect to their own PC again LabVIEW and they get the trial of 14 days notice period.

Is there a way the License Manager looking for the license to the computer first instead of the user license?

    Thanks for any help.

    Joe

    Hey Joe,

In the license file on the license server, you may be able to manually change the tag "sort" in the file to change the order in which VLM withdraws licenses. Licenses are checked in descending (2, then 3, then 4, etc.). As a general rule, your license file is set up in a default order, but in special cases like this, it may be advantageous to change the order. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. open the license file with a text editor (such as Notepad)

    2. search for the tag "flows out". For example, the entry "VLM_Core" will sort tag value will appear as "sort = first". Do not change this value. VLM_Core must always be the first.

    3. change the value of sorting tag for the license to the computer named to a value less than the value of sorting tag for the named user license. (for example 'sort = 2"for named computer and 'sort = 3" to the named user).

4 save the file and reinstall the license.

Let me know if you have any questions!

  • Assign the PMP license to specific users without TMS

    Hello guys,.

IM development environment of videoconferencing on my client with this specification:

    -Worm CUCM 11.x

    -Telepresence conductor XC4.0 (only 1)

-vTelepresence Server ver 4.2 (only 1)

My problem is im using PMP licenses, no screen. So I really confuse how to assign the license PMP to specific users.

I already insert the driver's license, like the image below:

the multiparty license on driver State said: I already have 25 license PMP but assign 0. and he said: if I did a conference call, he used license SMP, so the lack of SMP license error always come. So I need 1 license PMP connection to my user / ext to remove the error warning.

    I can do without TMS?

If can, please help me with this.

    Thank you all.

    Best regards

    Christophe.

The recommendation is to use use AD to import users in CUCM and TMSPE to make sure that all the same users are added.  However, you may manually create users in CUCM and TMSPE as long as the details between the two systems are the same, including the address of the video as that will identify the user as long as the host of the CMR.

  • the wpad.home to the dsl router server requires a user name and password

I recently downloaded some files for Silverlight and Microsoft Microsoft Security Update.  Now I started to get this message when I start my computer that says "the wpad.home of the dsl router server requires a user name and password", there also a warning that this information is requested on a non-secure server.    I hit Cancel and the window disappears and everything works, but I'm afraid that I picked up a virus and I don't want to put the password of my router in this screen.  Is this really a thing of Microsoft, or do I have some type of virus?  I run all my virus software and it found nothing, but I'm still worried.  Is any way to get rid of him?

  • Win 8 upgrade - the user can cause dual boot using the same license?

    Hello

Thanks to MS for offers updated Win 7 for win 8 to 14.99 USD for all new buyers of Win 7 PC after June, 2012.

I'm one of the eligible candidates for the upgrade at this price. However, I spent a lot of time, money and effort to put in place the Win 7 OS so that he could function at an optimal level I want.

My understanding of an upgrade to win 8 is to lose everything I have Win 7 and replace the entire operating system to win 8 via a download from the MS. Download Center

The problem is that I don't know if Win 8 is what I like and not sure if it is better than Windows 7. Reinstallation of Win 7 back takes time and effort.

Do I know if the user can install Win 8 to another partition primary drive c during the upgrade, retaining the original Win7 (same license) to the other partition?

If this is the case, it would be a great bonus for the new buyer of Win 7 PC, otherwise the user need to spend more money to buy to win a CD of Installation of 8 at the store and install t to separate partition.

    Thank you

    Low

You can dual boot with the free upgrade, so that you upgrade to the eligible license, in this case Windows 7. If you want to dual boot Windows 7 and Windows 8, you must buy the full version license, what is Windows 8 Pro for use staff system
