Difficulty of re-sync playlist

I am currently running Windows XP with WMP11. Recently, I added new songs to an already existing selection, and I tried to synchronize the "rocket". However, the "rocket" began to systematically add all the songs on the playlist, including the 'old'. As a result, I had a few duplicates until I caught and stopped the clock.

I realize a another way to proceed would be to synchronize the songs directly to the computer, and then create the playlist or update the playlist using Winamp. However, is there a way to avoid this difficulty by using WMP11?

I don't know if this will affect things, but I will not sync automatically - I select manually the playlists to sync and drag-and - drop the desired folder.

I use it only as a playlist creator/Manager though I may buy the improved version to get wrenching .mp3 of availability. Then I won't need at all to WMP. I just drag & drop all my files. That way I control and the final say of what happens (and does not) my players, not software.

There are others here who recommend it for synchronization well.

I have more than music in itunes my ipod can hold, the last time I synced, there was a box to synchronize playlists only, now it's over so how can I now sync playlists only, you can see?

Select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show its settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click music.  To the right, the settings screen of music from iPod, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.

NOTE: All of the songs on the iPod that are not in your iTunes library (on the computer) will be lost.

Check the box to Sync music (if it isn't already).  Below, choose the option synchronize playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Below, under playlists, select (check) the playlists you want on the iPod.  You can also select other articles on other lists, as you wish.  Click Apply to sync your selection to iPod.

Further, iTunes automatically updated the iPod with the changes made to the selected part of the iTunes music library.  For example, if you update a list of selected reading (add/remove songs), updates iTunes, the iPod with the same changes the next time you connect (or click Sync if already connected).

WMP don't like external drives. He thinks that you are trying to make copies and give them to friends.

You may need to synchronize the files in the Clip while they are on the computer and then moving to hard drive for storage.

WMP stores the selections as its own owners .wpl files. You can also save them as files with indications here .m3u (expand "to create a normal playlist")

Hello.  I was able to successfully get the media sync to work from XP on my 8830.  However, when I open a playlist I have synced, it displays "No. Songs."  If I have "expore" music files, I found a new "Media Sync" folder and playlist and songs are there and playable.  However, I can only see the playlist and cannot play or see the songs through the normal menus on my World Edition.  I appreciate any suggestions!

    Solved.

When I select my source as "Apple Watch" and click on the sync playlist, it just starts scans all the songs without playing them. Its almost as if I'm holding down the button "next". How can I get my playlist synchronized to work?

    Hello

Check the songs you've added to your reading list are available offline on your iPhone.

For example, if you have added pieces of Apple's music, ensure that you have downloaded these tracks on your iPhone.

Also check that your music has completed synchronization of your watch. The playlist sync only when your watch is in charge and your iPhone is nearby, with devices connected through Bluetooth.

Devices arranged in this way, in order to check the progress of the synchronization, open the app shows on your iPhone and go to My Watch > music.

If everything is in order, it can help to restart your iPhone and your watch. Close the two devices together, and then restart your iPhone first:

    -To switch off your watch: press and hold the button side until you see the cursor off the power; slide it to turn off;

-To switch on: press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

  • Windows media player 10 playlist order mutation during synchronization

V10 of WMP on XP SP3

I have my songs in my playlist, but when I sync them with my MP3 player, they come out in a completely different order.  For example I have songs in order in a playlist:

    1

    2

    3

    4

    5

    But when synchronized

    3

    2

    5

    4

    1

Same problem for every playlist regardless of their size. Shuffle is not lit on WMP.

At first I thought that the problem was with my MP3 player.  It's a Sony NWZ - W252 (B).  I formatted and reset It has always worked well, the same order as WMP playlists.  Shuffle is not turned on the MP3 player.

I did a test, I made a copy the same playlist but revised the order of song to what order out on the mp3 player after synchronization.  When I synced playlist changed, it not reorganize itself, he remained the same order as the original after synchronization, as if the songs have some fixed order.  But there is no logic in the order that the songs themselves in arranged after syncing, I compared the sort order of the options and file size but no match, so it has nothing to do with the size of file or sorting.

This problem just started to happen suddenly and without reason, I have not installed/uninstalled/improved/changed anything.  One day it was working fine, the other the problem started.  The only thing I noticed at the time was that Norton has found an infected file and instructed me to delete what I did.  So unless my WMP is somehow damaged by a virus.

I considered uninstalling and reinstalling WMP but I don't want to lose anything... I'm not sure if I could import it back all my music files? and if I have to reselect the location of each file that would take forever.

It was my MP3 player, I had to keep me pressed a button on my MP3 player instead of simply pressing it... silly.

  • May not know how to get a playlist on Sansa View

This is my first MP3 player, so I'm a little lost.

For the test, I've renamed 3 of my songs like this:

    song - 1.mp3

    song - 2.mp3

    song - 3.mp3

Using Windows Explorer, I copied the three files in the music folder on the Sansa player (who came as drive F: on MyComputer).

Then, I created a playlist in WMP and recorded on the Sansa player. In Wordpad, the file looks like:

    #EXTM3U
    #EXTINF:0, song - 1.mp3
    .. \MUSIC\song-1.MP3

    #EXTINF:0, song - 3.mp3
    .. \MUSIC\song-3.MP3

    #EXTINF:0, song - 2.mp3
    .. \MUSIC\song-2.MP3

I tried to save this file (Playlist5.m3u) several places - I recorded it in the music, in the root folder, in the folder to the playlist, in the system folder and the subfolders of system. But when I go to "Playlists" on my Sansa, I don't see any named playlists.  It is empty.

I looked at the FAQ about playlists. Several people have said you can right click on your MP3 files and look for an option called "Make the Playlist" - I don't see this option on my machine.

Found the problem.  Apparently the update of the firmware installation invalid in MTP Mode Windows drivers.  I was suspicious because WMP 11 of the Sansa View screen has not shown a "Playlists" folder in "Sansa View".  I put my Sansa View USB Mode in Auto Detect and checked the Device Manager and it showed the Sansa View with an error for no driver installed for a MTP device.  I installed the driver and the display in WMP 11 changed to display the folder "Playlists".  I have synced Playlists that I wanted and the playlists and the music have been moved to the Sansa View.

      • Control playback music on iPhone matched.
      • Can also play music from unique selection that has been synchronized to the Watch:

  • Make iPhone iPod for podcasts to imitate

I have been using an iPod touch to listen to podcasts for years and really how he manages. I would like to have the Setup on my iPhone to mimic what I could do on the iPod, essentially ignoring all WiFi and cellular capabilities of the iPhone.

Specifically, I want to do all my download on my laptop via iTunes and use iTunes to decide what future episodes to my iPhone. (I have a large library of old podcasts on the computer and, occasionally, as mark as unread and bringing over the device to get back at them and I also like to manage my substantial table of subscriptions via a big screen and keyboard).

I want the phone application to show me that my episodes recorded and specify which are read, unplayed. Is it possible to adjust the parameters of the iPhone app to make this happen? Or am I condemned to manage my podcasts on the phone now?

I doubt that you will be able to do through the app of Podcasts Caveat: I dropped the synchronization of podcast (a podcast) files between my computer and the iPhone for years because it does just simply no more; Maybe it is improved now, even if I doubt. What you want is not possible and it's always what I do, but it's a heck of a lot more complicated than seven or eight years ago.

What I do: on the computer, change all downloaded podcasts Media type = audio book or music. (Select a file, command - I to get information, select Options, and then in the Media like audio book or music menu.) Note: these podcasts will download then again - I just mark as played the second time.

If you have files like music or audio books, you can sort them into playlist, smart or dumb, and then sync them to your iPhone.

If you change the media type of music: playlists behave pretty predictably, but you lose things like jump of 15 seconds. The times-podcasts-now-music will play music on your iPhone through the app. It can also make things weird if you use Apple music and iCloud music library or whatever it is called. (This problem is one of the reasons I don't use music to Apple.) If you have playlists of music based on 'media type = music', you will also have problems.

If you change the media type of audio books: you keep the memory-jump function, so that's good, but the times-podcasts-now-audio books (in general) will not play through music - instead, they'll be in the iBooks app for the iPhone by default, and that leads to a series of problems. Playlists that you set in iTunes will determine what you can synchronize, BUT these playlists do not actually appear in the iBooks app. Instead, you will see just all different content organized by title or author, or other selected criteria. In addition, the game counts become totally foires, at least in my experience. For example, I often 10 unplayed episodes of "things you should know" synced to my iPhone and if I use the app for audio books to play only the seventh of these episodes, then #1 à #7 seem to all get marked as being played (and often marked as played twice, who knows why).

What I use instead: Browser Audiobook, an application designed by a person who is active in this forum. It is not the prettiest of apps, but it keeps the playlists and unlike in iBooks, in audio book browser you can see playlists. I don't think he can play consecutive episodes - just one, and then you must select a different episode. It works much better than the iBooks to play app sync playlists files short audiobook (originally podcast), and he manages the counties of predictable game.

    So my workflow:

    1. Podcasts that I listen to and then delete (new, for example): I use covered to subscribe to these on my iPhone. Now I avoid Podcasts of Apple app and my life is better for it.
    2. Podcasts I want to keep: I subscribe to these on my computer (and all the options that even alluded to the synchronization are disabled). Manual update only. Every day I 'Refresh' and download and change the type of media for each group of audio books. Then I refresh it once again, the same podcasts download it again, and I mark these additional files as played.
    3. Every day I have manually sync my iPhone with my computer, and copy the times-podcasts-now-audio books. (Of course, happens if my photo library is cooperating so far here, but it is another matter.)

It's the craft on hack on hack, and it seems that each update IOS, Apple adds another complication.

    Good luck!

  • Lose the links to external HARD disk of

If I import something in iTunes 12.3 from an external HARD drive, as soon as I turn off the computer, or remove the external hard drive, he'll never find the files again, even if the drive designation is the same. Why? How can I prevent this?

Whenever I then tr to import something on my iPod, the program does not give me a warning that the files not found, instead, I drag-and - drop folders on the iPod, and the interrupted icon flashes 3 times, as it does when the transfer normally woks. If I look carefully on the row of the SECOND high, and no level of "work in progress" does not appear behind the file in the background, indicating that a transfer is in progress, then nothing happens, and no files are transferred. If I do that several times, I can finish with several times the files in the folder, all but the last loaded then have the exclamation make indicating that the file has been lost. This can last indefinitely (e.g. 20 identical files with the explanation marks and the other without if I imported the record 21 times). Of course, only the last import is transferred to the device.

It's not quite like that. If iTunes starts up and has reason to notice that a drive where other titles are supposed to be stored is offline, then it flags those followed with the exclamation point. If subsequently put you at the disposal of the player and import the same tracks it will make fresh entries in the library for them. If you close iTunes and then reopen it, you should find that the two entries of work. The perfect way to work with iTunes is for her to have a content library internal computer discs auto if there is room, or on an external drive connected normally. and in both cases keep a backup on a separate disk. See make a split cell library for more details

As stated in your feed to repress 'fake' lost files transfer when iTunes is unable to do what he is asked he often fails silently. The answer is to keep your library organized correctly there is no broken links and not duplicates.

Given that I don't want to wait half a day for my library do a new import every time I turn on the new PC, I just use the old memory of the files, select what I want, then re - import only this folder on top the already existing folder. If I do that several times, I can finish with several times the files in the folder, all but the last loaded then have the exclamation make indicating that the file has been lost. When iTunes has multiple entries for the same file there is only one of them on the device. Broken entries are not copied over. It seems that you manually manage the device that takes the most effort than syncing playlists selected from a well-trained library.

Duplicates in iTunes are usually the result of re-import content located outside the media folder where your settings allow for the songs imported to copy in the media folder. iTunes is not keep a record of the external paths, so if you add the same record twice, you get two copies. If you start iTunes with the media on an external drive disconnected, then plug in the hard drive and then add files to iTunes iTunes can contain multiple references to the same files. If the reader has several times different drive letters, or you manually move media autour, then this can lead to broken links.

Official notice of Apple on the duplicates is here: find and remove duplicates in your iTunes library. This is a manual process and article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls such as the lost coast and membership of playlist, or sometimes the same file can be represented by multiple entries in the library as well as a removal and recycling the file will break all the others.

Use MAJ > view > show items to reproduce exactly to display the duplicates because it is normally a selection more useful. You must manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sort the list by Date added can make easier select appropriate tracks, but it works better when executed immediately after the dupes were created.  If you have several entries in iTunes connected to a same file on the disk hard then don't not send to trash.

Use my DeDuper script (Windows only) If you are not sure, do not want to do it by hand, or want to maintain ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this background thread , this post for detailed instructions and Please take note of the warning to back up your library before deduping.

(If you don't see the menu bar press ALT to temporarily view or CTRL + B to keep displayed.)

The latest version of the script can put away the dead links as long as there is at least a double live to merge his stats and membership of the playlist and must deal wisely when the same file has been added through multiple paths.

You can also take a look at my comments in this thread Re: why iTunes double, triple or even quadruple songs I import there? and hhgttg27 for some more information on the Organization of the library and the effects of the different options in iTunes.

  • Sansa 280 not recognized as a Portable device

General information: Sansa 280th with firmware version 01.024.24A; Operating system Windows Vista, service pack 2; MSC mode; Windows Media Player version 11.0.6002.18111.

My computer only recognizes the Sansa player when it is connected in MSC mode.  When it is connected to the MTP device does not appear in the computer widow.  However, when connected in MSC , an icon labeled mass storage mode removable disk (F soon will appear next to DVD RW drive (E labeled and a few seconds later a removable disk (G labeled icon appears next to the removable disk (F labeled icon.))))  An AutoPlay window appears followed by a popup indicating that "it is not children in the drive...". ».  I tested other portable devices and all appear as a portable device.  It seems to me that my Sansa player has lost its identity.

When I drag a playlist to sync pane in Windows Media Player (WMP) and click on the button synchronize the files copy to the device.  Everything looks normal on the player.  The music seems like songs, but nothing appears in the list of reading as the list go.  I formatted the device, both on the computer window and using the method of hold/record , after which I reinstalled the firmware.

I would appreciate help anyone can provide in resolving this issue.

This morning I took a glance at the problem again. I went into the Device Manager and uninstalled the driver in MTP mode. I then reinstalled it manually with the driver selected in a list. Driver selection was easy because there was only one on the list. It is installed successfully! When you try to update the driver automatically, Vista kept saying that the driver was updated. What I think happened is that the driver has become corrupted and the only way to replace it was to force Vista to reinstall, which then solved the problem. Just my guess. Sorry, but I know just enough about dangerous software systems. But I learned a lot during this experience.

In any case, under the MPT mode the computer recognizes the Sansa player as a portable device! However, in WMP it has no music file recognized. I think that WMP table should update since I Sync playlists and he did return to his table where that data is stored. It comes to decide whether or not to reformat the device in MSC mode and start again, then switch to the PSG and synchronize albums, playlist, etc., in WMP. And then there are worries that something can go wrong, since OMP recognizes two Sansa e280 players. We're working and the other is a mannequin. Additionally, this strange thing of two in MSC mode mass storage devices is always displayed in the window of the computer (aka My in Win XP) (see the original post). So not all of my fears are unfounded, while other strange things continue. For now, I'll leave the single unit and reformat and start over when I feel compelled to do.

I appreciate the assistance. He made me started lookng in the right direction. Thanks again!
