difficulty to remove the network wireless to my laptop

Hi - I'm unable to remove the network my laptop wireless. I have windows Vista Home premium on a Dell Inspiron 1525. I need to delete the list of wireless network in order to re - install (due to changes to the security settings). When I try to remove it, it disappears, but then within 5 seconds it appears again, like a ghost in my computer. Help, please

Perhaps, he keeps coming back because you're connected to the Internet.

I assume you mean: network and sharing Center, manage wireless networks, one of the networks on this list, your right you click on the network and clicked on delete network.

Well, if you click Properties, you can change the security settings.

If you were logged on to the disconnected from the Internet and then you can remove it and if it works you will see it come back.

But he will always be there even if you don't see it.

To remove it completely connect to the Internet with another connection, not one you want to delete.

Open the network and sharing Center click on customize, click on merge or delete network connections, select the connection that you want to remove and click on delete. This removes the registry.

If you are unable to connect to the Internet to do this follow these steps:

Press the Windows Logo key and the R key to open the run.

type: regedit, click OK

Navigate to: HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT / CurrentVersion / NetworkList / profiles

Click on one of the profiles below to view on the right side. Look at the name of the profile to make sure it is the right one.

When you see one you want to remove a right click the highlighted one on the left side and click on delete.

  • Do not see the networks wireless on my laptop under XP sp3.

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite 5 years old running Windows XP with SP3 and until the other day, he has been working very well.  Then the other day I started to clean my laptop to try to maintain it falls slower then it already is. (Glary Utilities, CCleaner, etc...)  Then all of a sudden I could no longer connect to my wireless network.  But if I plug it in wired Ethernet works fine but when I search for wireless networks to connect with, nothing appears on the pop-up window.  If I hit refresh, I get the same thing.  Here are a few things that I did to solve problems;

    1. made sure that the Radio will switch on the side of the laptop was on. (duh!)

    2. uninstalled the wireless network adapter in the Device Manager and allowed the operating system to reinstall it on reboot.

    3 both upgraded AND rolled back the Adapter.drivers wireless.

    4 power up the system Mode safe mode with network access and got the same thing.

    I have three other computers/laptops with wireless connection in the House and they all work very well.  And all of them show many wireless networks in the region.

    All ideas are welcome.  I'm all ears.  Thank you.

  • Current file to use when it is disconnected from the network wireless/wired - shared network drive

    Hello

    We have a problem where we receive a "file in use" message when you are disconnected from the network. To reproduce the problem, what we do is:

    (1) connect to the wired network wireless disabled with

    (2) create a test document

    (3) to enter text and save on network share

    (4) remove the network cable

    (5) add additional text

    (6) reconnect the network cable

    (7) try to save the file to the network share

    At the beginning by clicking the X is the new message you want to save. Click Yes and the message arrives until the next time you hit the Hit of X no. and he loses the last change.

    From here we then go up to the network share, open the file and it comes up with "file in use. Open read-only. File is opened by us (Administrator account), and there is NO temporary file in the shared folder.

    Tried so far:

    -Run net config server/autodisconnect:-1 for trying to stop it disconnect the share

    -Checked pane, pane preview and off 'display the description of the pop-up window for folder and desktop items '.

    -Windows Update

    We try to reproduce on wired connection, because it is easier to reproduce that disconnects wireless. Seems to have an impact on several operating systems. Share folder is shared on a Windows 2008 R2 x 64 machine.

    Is this a known problem or is there something that we can configure to try to prevent the locking file after logging out? Ideally, we want the decline to go unnoticed and provide uninterrupted service to the user, unless they are trying to save during the fall.

    Thanks in advance for comments :)

  • Computer connects to the network wireless as "local only".

    I am running Vista Home Premium SP2 on a HP Pavilion laptop.  I've never had any problems to connect this machine to a wireless network before, in hotels, at home, or anywhere.  My current home network is a modem - cable-> wireless-> wireless netgear n300 router.  My laptop connects to the internet via the modem cable directly or a wire from the netgear router.  I have a second, almost cell identical (it's intel, while the one who does not is AMD) which connects to the network wireless without any problem.  Two iphones connected wirelessely without any problem.  My HP laptop is the only one who refuses to connect to the internet.  Connected to the wireless network, it has access "local only".

    I tried the solution in this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233

    The question does not seem to receive an ip address, the computer receives an ip address.  I have disabled the IP v6, ran the norton removal tool, because I only had to a point and tried all other suggestions in these discussions: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistanetworking/thread/0949042d-074e-43ab-ba95-3c06cc2aa6be and http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistanetworking/thread/bc08f0e7-49a9-4458-9e0e-149b2df362ec.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter and all TCP/IP and network protocols associated with it.  I am at a loss and would welcome any ideas.

    Hi Jer9009,

    Welcome to the Microsoft answers site.

    ·         Could you give the exact error code or error number you get?

    To connect multiple computers, install a network adapter in each and run a network CAT5 cabling to connect each one to a hub (and thus the other.) The computer that will serve as a transition will have a standard network card for wired and a wireless network adapter that will connect to the wireless (WAP) access point or gateway on the second network.

    A network bridge is software or hardware that connects two networks or more so that they can communicate. You can create only a single bridge network on a computer, but a bridge can handle any number of network connections.

    On the domain controller or problems by communicating with the domain controller, when you remove the network cable, you connect with that caching of credentials.  Also look at the DNS settings on the RODC, the RODC DNS should point to itself, make sure that the machines are all on the same subnet.

    Hi @jrmunn ,

    I want to help you get the printer works on the wireless network.

    There are a few different ways to install the printer on the wireless network.

    • Thanks to the support WPS.
    • Through the installation, by connecting the USB port, it will configure the wireless.
    • Once the USB installation is done. You can configure the wireless via an Ethernet connection.

    Cycle power to the router.

    First, we must restore the defaults on the printer.

    Press the OK button on the printer, go to the service, and then select restore default settings.

    Print a printer configuration page to make sure that the IP address and SSID are erased.

    Print a Configuration report.

    Uninstall the printer software.

    WPS configuration method:

    To connect your printer to your wireless router wireless using WPS:
    (your router must support WPS)

    Start the mode of the WPS button on your printer.
    Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.

    Then run a printer from devices and printers Add Wizard.

    The USB method:

    Perform a clean boot on the computer and disable the Antivirus software and any analysis in real-time in the Antivirus software also. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

    Then run the installation immediately after connecting the USB cable, follow the steps described in this document to update the drivers so that's not new error. A fatal error during Installation of the software. Then the installation should continue. (you can use this procedure for any type of installation)

    If you are still having problems and you have an Ethernet cable, we can install the printer as a USB connection again and then configure the printer via wireless Ethernet.

    Method of Ethernet:

    Restore the default settings of the printer.

    Connect the printer to the router with an Ethernet cable.
    Wait about 1 minute and the printer must have a valid IP address.
    Print the configuration page to get the IP address of the printer.
    Type the IP address in the address bar of Internet Explorer which should open the printer's built-in web services page.
    Installing wireless over here now.
    Click the networking, wireless on the left, fill in information about the network and apply the settings.
    After the confirmation, then disconnect the Ethernet cable.
    Now you should have a flashing light on the printer in 1 minute wireless about.

    Print a printer configuration page, to get the new IPv4 address.

    Then create a new port with the new IPv4 address.

    In the devices window and printers, click right on the printer and on the left, click on printer properties, select the Ports tab.

    Click Add Port, select the Port TCP/IP Standard, then New Port and follow the instructions in the wizard.

    Hello Nicolas,.

    Thank you our writing about Microsoft Community.

    If your computer has a wireless network card, Windows will automatically detect the networks wireless in range of your computer.

    You may encounter network or problems of Internet in Windows for several reasons.  Some common problems that can cause these problems are:

    • A wireless network adapter switch that is not enabled

    • WEP, WPA, or WPA2 key or password security issues

    • Cables that are not connected correctly

    • Corrupt or incompatible drivers

    • Missing updates

    • Network connection settings

    • Hardware or software problems

    I would ask you to check out the troubleshooting steps provided in the articles below and check if they help you solve the issue.

  • Remove the network adapter - error

    Hello

    I use the following code to remove all NICs connected to the specific virtual machine.

    Sometimes the workflow completes without error, but most of the time, I get the following error in the vCenter: invalid configuration for the device '1'.

    What can I change in my code?

    var nicsToRemove = [];

    for each {(device var in vm.config.hardware.device)

    If (device instanceof VcVirtualVmxnet

    || device instanceof VcVirtualVmxnet2

    || device instanceof VcVirtualVmxnet3

    || device instanceof VcVirtualE1000

    || device instanceof VcVirtualPCNet32

    || device instanceof VcVirtualEthernetCard) {}

    Here, you can add custom logic to decide whether to remove the network card

    This code example removes all network adapters

    nicsToRemove.push (device);

    }

    }

    var vmConfigSpec = new VcVirtualMachineConfigSpec();

    var deviceChanges = [];

    var deviceConfigSpec = new VcVirtualDeviceConfigSpec();

    System.log (VM. (Name)

    for each {(var nic in nicsToRemove)

    deviceConfigSpec.operation = VcVirtualDeviceConfigSpecOperation.remove;

    deviceConfigSpec.device = nic;

    System.log ("the nic is:" + nic.connectable.status);

    vmConfigSpec.deviceChange = deviceChanges;

    If (nic.connectable.status == 'ok') {}

    deviceChanges.push (deviceConfigSpec);

    }

    }

    try {}

    myTask = vm.reconfigVM_Task (vmConfigSpec);

    } catch (ex) {}

    System.Warn ("the reconfiguration of the VM error:" + ex);

    }

    It looks like your code is wrong here:

    for each {(var nic in nicsToRemove)

    deviceConfigSpec.operation = VcVirtualDeviceConfigSpecOperation.remove;

    deviceConfigSpec.device = nic;

    System.log ("the nic is:" + nic.connectable.status);

    vmConfigSpec.deviceChange = deviceChanges;

    If (nic.connectable.status == 'ok') {}

    deviceChanges.push (deviceConfigSpec);

    }

    }

    I think it should be:

    for each {(var nic in nicsToRemove)

    deviceConfigSpec.operation = VcVirtualDeviceConfigSpecOperation.remove;

    deviceConfigSpec.device = nic;

    System.log ("the nic is:" + nic.connectable.status);

    If (nic.connectable.status == 'ok') {}

    deviceChanges.push (deviceConfigSpec);

    }

    }

    vmConfigSpec.deviceChange = deviceChanges;

    You also probably want to get out the task if deviceChanges.length<= 0="" since="" there="" is="" no="" nic="" in="" the="" desired="">
