  I have a silly question to ask questions about the writing of data in a text file or a spreadsheet. I have an example that simulates a sine-swept DAQmx. The output it provides is the (amplitude and phase) frequency response function that is plotted on a graph (see VI) attached. I like to use these data for further analysis by transmitting the data to a text file or a spreadsheet. I've tried a few things, but the thread is broken. I guess I use the sink badly - so I was wondering, can you please advise me on what sink should I use?

  The wire is broken, because you cannot connect this type of data to one of these two functions. The data source type is a table 1 d of the clusters, where each cluster contains two tables. The text file write accepts strings, not clusters. Writing on a file action accepts dynamic data, and while you can convert dynamic data tables, there is no built-in mechanism to convert a table 1 d of the clusters of two matrices.

  What you need to do is to convert the data in a format which can be accepted by these functions. Since you want to have a "spreadsheet" file then you should use writing to the spreadsheet file that creates a delimited text file. Since the frequency data would be the same for the plot of the magnitude and phase diagrams, you can have 3 columns: frequency, amplitude, and phase. You can take off the items using Unbundle by name, and then create a table 2D of each element of the cluster. The real question is to know if you want to save the data at each iteration and if you simply add on the file. The attached figure shows write an initial header and then adding just streaming the data.

  There's a hack you can use - after having written values, read data from the Value2 property and write what you read the property (this is so has write, read B, writing B). I don't know why, but it works. Probably a quirk in how Excel types auto-formats.

  I used the basic tutorial for the network of wireless sensors OR. http://www.ni.com/tutorial/8890/en/. I finished it with a single node. The next phase of my project is to send the data from the node and the date and time in an excel file every hour. Is there any advice I can get to at least send the date and the data in the excel file? I'm using labView in 2012

  You cannot connect a scalar to the entry level that is needed. A solution would be to insert a table to build before the writing on the worksheet.

• Importing data to a text field - what am I doing wrong?

  My ultimate goal is to read a date stored in a text file and display it in a text on my PDF page field.

• Variable data merging with images and Excel

  I have a question about the installation of variable data files. I'll put up an excel file for a small number of badges of identity (like 50). The headers are all set up as variable data of regular text (first, last, agency, etc.), but on the last section the variable information is a small graphic (circle, square, triangle, etc...) How you configure in excel to recognize that this is a graph when you import into Indesign using the data merge feature.

  Is it still possible? I have attached the worksheet so that you can better see what I'm talking about.

  For the graphical content, add the @ symbol at the beginning of the name of the field in the header and put the path to the image in the cell of each record.

  I think it is covered in the help topic well enough, then you might want to go back and read it.

• Correct sort numbers stored as text

  I have a few numbers of documents stored as text values that I want to sort in the correct order. However, what I get is 1-101, 1 - 10A, 1-11, 1-14, 1-17, 1 - 17A .i, 1-19, 1-2, 1-21, 1-30, 1.35, 1.47, 1-4-A, 1-5, 1-7, 1 - A, 1 B, 1 - C. This is the title of the document ID, that is why the inconsistancy. I wish they would have done better with it, but these docs old ar and and all I have to work with. It is just a small set. I have a lot more starting with 2, 3 and so on.
  
  I was wondering how can I get these to be sorted in the correct order of smallet to the largest. I.E.
  1-2, 1-4-A, 1-5, 1-7, 1-10, 1-11, 1-14, 1 - 17A, 1 - 17A .i, 1-19, 1-21, 1-30, 1.35, 1.47, 101, 1-1-A, 1 B, 1 c
  
  The ABC may be at the beginning or at the end is okay as long as the figures are correct.

  It is stored in a MS Access database. I think I knew how to do things in the right order. Since there is an inconsistancy in the naming convention, I came a way to make it consistent. I have 2 columns, 1 with the document ID number and one with just the number of the document (1-17 has 17 for the second column). This way I can fool all initially based on the second column as they are entirely digital and so for the first column of I duplicated in the second column.

  For example, 1 - 17A and 1-17A .i have all two 17 in the second column, but by sorting two columns, the order is correct and 1 - 17A comes before 1-17A .i. For document ID's that do not have a number and a letter such ast 1A, I assing a certain number of 1000A, 1001 for B and so on. In this way they have a number too and will usually appear at the end of the list.

• How to remove navigation data stored by Mozilla Sync?

  I was on my laptop and I was shocked to discover the history of my office, my mobile navigation. A story that was supposed to have been removed. I'm mystified by what could happen. Then I thought about Mozilla's Sync which I just started. That must be it. Mozilla has synchronized the browser quickly, history just before it was removed safely. Now, these data are stored by Mozilla - where? In the cloud, I presume. I don't know what the hell the cloud is, but I know I want to store my browsing history from Mozilla here. So what can we do about it? Historical navigation and other sensitive data poses security and privacy risks. Maybe I did not read all the information and instructions on the timing when I started. BUT Mozilla really need to be more clear about that Sync will be storing these data from the computer of the user. Is it possible to delete the data stored by Mozilla? I know that the user can control which are synchronized data, but Mozilla should have had a more obvious explanation on how this synchronize data will be stored.

  Full encryption of disk file Vault will have no effect on your cloud services. When you connect the drive is decrypted, it means any cloud service can access the same as data you - in its decrypted form. The downloads will not be encrypted (unless the service does its own encryption also).

  You can encrypt files before uploading to any cloud service - but which is separate from the File Vault.

  File Vault has some potential drawbacks...

  If the drive does not recover the data are more difficult because data is encrypted - make good backups & test them!

  The computer is decrypting data "on the fly" which means it's more work than a system without encryption. The difference in performance is probably not noticeable with the new Macs, unless you start using reference tools.

  It really depends on if you need protect your data "at rest" (when the power is turned off). File Vault will not protect you against any malware or other bad software etc. It's because the OS is actually the same when using - once that data is decrypted it is accessible, it's why File Vault like allows you to lock the screen with a screen saver password.

  I'm new with Labview, currently, I bought NI DAQ USB 6363 for generating control signals and signals analog accquire. I would like to send digital data series through one of the digital IOs with throughput of 30 kbps. Please see the attachment for the data frame. Could someone comment the feasibility of this? Y at - it codes for the example that I can refer to? Most of the examples I've looked at so far deals to generate several line instead of 1 single line. How can I achieve this?

  as noted in the knowledge base How to recover data from a data base of Citadel with DIAdem, you must install the Citadel 5 database Access Pack, which is included in the package of Lookout. In any case, you can also download and install the Citadel 5 database Access Pack separately at this link.

• Maximize the continuous digital data recording rate

  I'm trying to record digital data clocked outside large amounts quickly.  The data is only for post-processing.  What is the best way to get data from the port on the hard drive at the fastest possible pace?

  I connect using a PCIe 6537 B.  I log on 4, ports of 8 bits to 40,92 Mhz, so a rate of ~ 160MBytes per second.  I have two designs I've tried so far (a producer-consumer architecture and a DAQ.mx configure logging design).  Both models work if I connect only on two ports (effectively halfing the necessary flow) but fail to the width of 32 bits.

  I could be set it up incorrectly.  As I said, it works with 16-bit data width.  I don't know if the increase in the width of the data directly is the problem or if the increased flow to fail.

  I use this on a 3 GB ram windows xp using labview in 2012.  I have attached the vi of my two attempts and a picture of the DAQ.mx set the logging design.

  Well, I'd suggest the integrated PDM recording method would probably be you give best results, assuming that it works at all.  This record type opens a DMA channel of the material on the hard drive so it should not produce copies of useless data, which would probably be a producer consumer loop.

  I never tried logging TDMS without reading the data, a Read DAQmx should be used in the loop?  Your file contains TDMS data?

  The challenge of your hard drive?  It is a flat disk of laptop?  I recommend you test on a SSD, if possible, just to see.

  There are also properties to open up to a size of memory buffer.

  Start with one of the logging TDMS basic examples delivered with LabVIEW and work your way up from there.

My problem is: the first data that are saved after the headers of data, is on the first line of the text rather than the second file. Ideally, it should be line 1, line 2 from data headers. I don't know what is the origin of the data to be concatenated with the headers. Can anyone help on this please.

  Hello!

  Your problem seems to be quite simple, if I understand it right.

  All you need is a constant to be concatenated with your header line end.
  The end of the constant line is equal to CRLF.

  So, if you concatenate the header with the CRLF, your concatenated string will be like: "header \n".

  and then, in the following lines (1, 2, 3...) your data will be available as it was already.

  I enclose a snapshot with this change.
