digital multimedia card reader is not recognized by the windows operating system 7

is there a solution to my problem with the digital media card reader not recognized by using the windows operating system 7

This card reader appears in Device Manager?  If Yes, then you have a problem with Windows 7 'default' to not show empty removable disks, which aren't floppy drive.

If you really want to use it for installation, you will need to extract the driver from the VMware Tools ISO and add it to a disk image.

  • HP Pavilion Elite HPE-180 t CTO: multimedia card reader does not work

The provided HP 6-in-1 multimedia card on the upper drive before the computer has stopped working. This computer is running the Microsoft 64 - bit Windows 7 home premium, I can't find any information on the card or drive driver on HP or sites in the HP user guides. I had to buy a support external USB, card reader to import photos from the cards. Do you have an idea where to find a driver or how to re - turn on the card reader? He simply stopped communicating. What can be done to make it work again?

Go back to a restore point is not a viable solution. There are too many updates on this computer because the problem occurred. In addition, returning to a previous restore point does not solve the problem. I continued my research and found the solution on the Microsoft support forum.

Step 1, uninstall the 'readers' listed under MOBILE DEVICES.

They all have an error "this device cannot start Code 10".

    Restart the computer.

Plug a carf Compact Flash and Device Manager reports:

"WPD filesystem Volume driver does not (code 10)".

With a card in the reader:
    Select START > > > right click COMPUTER > > > select Manage
    Under STORAGE select DISK MANAGEMENT
Flash cards will appear in the middle like a FAT Partition window in good health
    Right-click next to the icon
Select the paths AND the CHANGE of DRIVE LETTER access
    Select Add
Select the radio button OK (assign a new drive letter or path)

Windows will automatically assign a new drive letter
    Click OK
    Close computer management

The computer will recognize the Compact Flash, SD, etc and you can select what you want to do (such as open in the file manager).

    Restart the computer.

Connect a Compact Flash or SD card.

The system will recognize the card.

If it is not the case, repeat the procedure for this type of card management.

    This solution really works.

    Hello MikeLupo,

Thank you for your message.  Other USB devices work on your computers?  If so, which can exclude the USB port.  This would lead us to a driver problem.  Your computers are up-to-date on Windows Updates?  Execution of Windows updates can load drivers that may correct this problem.  You can also click HERE and enter your SD card reader model and possibly download a driver.
Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve your problem.

  • Card reader Y530 not recognizing SD card

I have posted about this same problem in November and have not yet repaired. Original message:

    "

My new y530 running Vista Home Premium can not read my SD card via the integrated 6-in-1 card reader. As far as I know, the Device Manager is only working for memory stick and xd.

I tried to install the latest drivers for SD and ThinkVantage updates but did not work. When I hold my card in, it does not appear as a removable storage device and nothing happens.

And technical support does not support y530. »

I read a post since then with someone having the same problem. I tried to do what he said, but it was rather vague and has ended up does not. I've since contacted support and could not get them to give me answer except "send in for repair. I prefer not to do that because I don't like to be without my computer, and if anyone could do it, why can not I? Someone at - it ideas?

I finally got to work. What I did expect a system start let me access the SD drive. He did this once from time to time in unknown conditions. When I was able to access it, I wen to the Device Manager and removed the crib card drivers and reinstalled them. Each subsequent startup was the player available to use.

  • Mac boots, but get error file not recognized on the main drive system

Hi there, I just upgraded my hard drive to a 1 to. I used Carbon Copy clone to create an exact copy of my old 500 GB drive. I started using the new disc, everything seemed fine. But then I went to extend the partition and nothing happened. I clicked on check the disk and now I get this error? Problems with the partition plan?

Ive tried to boot into recovery and run it there, always the same results. Any help out there?

    Thank you

    Aled.

You have only one volume on the drive. As far as I can tell it will be to the entire physical disk. Therefore, you cannot extend it. You could reduce it only.

To resize the car do the following:

1 restart the computer after the ring, press on and hold down the COMMAND and R until the menu screen appears.

Once the main menu appears, select disk utility and click on the continue button. Select the main hard drive, and then click the Partition tab in the main window of THE.

    2. you should see the window sizing graphic showing existing partitions. A party may appear as a blue rectangle that represents the space used on a partition.

    3. in the lower right corner of the rectangle sizing for each partition is a sizing gadget. Select it with the mouse and move the bottom of the rectangle to the top until you have reduced the score existing enough to create the new volume size desired. The area under the resized partition appears gray. Click on the apply button and wait until the process is complete.  (Note: you can only do a smaller partition to create the new free space.)

    4. click on the button [+] below the window size to add a new partition in the gray space you freed. Name the new volume, if you want, and then click the apply button. Wait until the process is completed.

You should now have a new volume on the drive.

It would be wise to have a backup of your system like resizing is not necessarily without risk of data loss.  Your drive must have enough contiguous free space to this process works.

Do not create a partition Windows in this way. Use Boot Camp Assistant in your Utilities folder for this purpose.

  • VN7 791G - does not start the Windows operating system

So I got my Acer VN7 - 791 G for 5 months now and until last month, everything was going fine until suddenly, the system has become VERY slow (operating system and programs have been suspended) and the boot process has long redicilously. To exclude a software problem, that I decided to restore the default computer via Acer recovery, hoping that would solve the problem.

Unfortuantely it's still very slow after a successful reset and all of a sudden one day after a reboot the system decided he did not want to join the opening scene of session windows more and decided to stay on the loading screen Acer or the loading screen 'Prepare auto repair' Acer.

I decided to leave the system to run to see if it would eventually reach the opening of windows session, but he never did and she now does is continue to stay on the Acer loading screen or gives me a black screen with the mouse pointer (nothing happens if I have nothing at this point (, or if I leave it running). Same thing happens when I try to press Alt + F10, it's just a black screen.

As it is still under warranty, I intend to ship to the Acer Service, however I read some bad reviews before I do I wanted to see if:

    (a) someone has had the above question on their model, and
    (b) are the comments that I've read about Infoteam Acer repairs without merit?

    Thank you very much.

Sounds like your hard drive is broken.

    Hello

Vista is no longer sold by Microsoft.

    Microsoft now sells Windows 7.

You can't do what you want to do.

"Upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7"

    Introduction

To upgrade your Windows XP computer to Windows 7, you will need to select custom during installation of Windows 7. A custom installation keeps your programs, files or settings. It is sometimes called a 'clean' for this reason installation.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

    Here's more information to consider before upgrading;

Before purchasing Windows 7, follow these steps:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Check if your specifications are compatible for Windows 7:

  • Will be hardware drivers installed on a guest OS is running even if they do not work on the host operating system?

    Scenario:

    VMware Workstation:

    Windows 7 SP1 64 bit host

Windows XP SP 32 bit comments

A scanner and a printer are available for Windows XP hardware drivers.  No hardware drivers are available for Windows 7.

If the hardware drivers for these devices are installed on the client Windows XP OS will work?

    Thank you.

Welcome to the community of users.

The answer is (as usual), it depends on...

My experience has been the following:

If your printer/scanner is usb based, there is a reasonable chance that it will work.

I have an old HP Scanjet (USB key) and an old Belkin UPS (USB) that both require drivers and software that only work under XP. I have an XP VM I'm running pilots of each device and software in and everything works.

I also have an old LasetJet HP (parallel port) that is not supported directly by Windows 7 and more. For this I used a USB-parallel converter > and in a VM XP, I am able to access and print. A Linux VM also recognizes the printer via the number of series-parallel adapter > and I can print it as well.

In any case, I only install the drivers for the virtual machine, not on the host computer. In fact, I can't install the drivers on the host computer, even if I wanted to, they can not even the installation of Win 7 and including Win 7-64 bit host.

If your hardware requires a custom Board, plugged into the motherboard (such as SCSI controllers) used in early scanners, the chances are pretty good it won't work that desktop doesn't pass through for PCI device (or other).

I had especially good luck with USB devices. (Not all, but most).

You'll probably just to try it and see...

    Good luck.
