Digital signature could not be verified

I tried to download a program called WinReg (provided by Frrereg.org.uk for transcribing parish registers) and hit a problem. Half way through the download it says I have to update my .net framework, but when I try to do it from the Microsoft site says the "digital signature could not be verified" and I don't give me no other choice but to cancel the installation.  Help?

You need. NEt Framework 2.0 and 3.0 before installing 3.5 (you can just jump on them like that if I can see why this may sound logical).  Carefully follow the instructions and messages.  After the back if you have any questions or problems.

Here's 2.0 SP1: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Signatures-Updates/Microsoft-NET-Framework-Service-Pack.shtml.

This is 3.0 SP1: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=EC2CA85D-B255-4425-9E65-1E88A0BDB72A&displaylang=en.

This is 3.5 SP1: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=ab99342f-5d1a-413d-8319-81da479ab0d7&DisplayLang=en

Once they have all been installed (you may need to reboot between each installation) you should be able to install the software that caused all of this in the first place.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!
