DigitalPersona U.are.U 4500 fingerprint reader biometric

I can't do the scanner 4500 Digital to install on my computer running Windows 7 and the drive didn't come with any software disk

Any material support, regardless of the operating system that you choose to run, is the manufacturer of the equipment.

You say you have this device? :
http://www.DigitalPersona.com/biometrics/hardware-products/U-are-U-4500-reader/4500-reader/

Support could begin here:
http://www.DigitalPersona.com/support/overview/

According to the web page compatibility Windows 7 for the DigitalPersona U.are.U 4500 Fingerprint Reader biometric Center of the unit * is * supported... sort of.  I guess that digitalPersona has given Microsoft a driver to install with Windows 7 early on.  Involving it should find and install the driver when you plug it in.

However, if it is not, the support is still to come from the same place.

    Thanks in advance

Usually, you should be able to access the files from the software to print digital is just another method to access the data, and then typing a password.

How and where do you store them as files? Do you use the trunk to store your important files?

Would like to hear from you, since I had no problem copying of files to attach the drive to another computer mounted in an external enclosure...

  • The Digital Persona does not detect the fingerprint reader in Windows 7

I have upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 Pro (full installation). Now, DigitalPersona does not detect the fingerprint reader. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver and the program, does not. Any ideas?

    Hi Cankermechanic,

I suggest that you try to update the drivers supplied by Device Manager and check.

See the link for update drivers: update a hardware driver that is not working properly: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work properly

If the problem persists, I would recommend that you uninstall drivers and reinstall the drivers from the site Web of Digital Persona, if that is helpful.

If the problem persists, I suggest that visit you the manufacturer for further assistance from the link below:

I also recommend that you contact the manufacturer of the computer for further assistance on this issue.

  • Qosmio F50: Fingerprint Reader disconnect by pressing on the area between the touchpad & SPACEBAR

    Hello!

I got my Qosmio one a week ago and I'm quite happy with it, except a little problem.

I noticed that while typing or playing a game, I would get random "device" / "device disconnected" sound of windows.
Keeping the open Device Manager, I discovered it was the fingerprint reader.

After a little research (and some luck), I noticed that if I press the area between the touchpad and the SPACEBAR just enough to drop the case, the fingerprint reader would disconnect momentarily.

Anyone else having the same problem?

I think it was a good decision that you have replaced the unit because based on your description this issue looked like a hardware problem.

Not perfect, but the best solution and faster that I found after extensive research on Google.
Basicely, off, remove the battery AND power cord for 10 seconds and restart.
    Works every time.
If this happens to you, if possible, leave the battery permanently, stop computer.
    Power cord to UNPLUG.
Restart after 10 seconds (plug back in obviously) guarantee all the USB work.

And by the way: do so radically to extend your battery life when you really need it. Store in a dry place at room temperature, with approximately 50% of charge. (just reload once a while)

    Good luck

  • EliteBook 840 G1: Validity Sensor fingerprint reader is not listed in biometric devices

I received an Elitebook 840 G1, tried to turn on the fingerprint reader, but it was not acknowledged.
Control Panel/biometrics devices, there is no device, although the "Validity Sensor" Device Manager is listed, the pilot seems too. I installed HP ProtectTools Security Manager, where I can find the footprints of the option, but to logon Windows is always Username/Password the only option to log on the system.
Check the BIOS, fingerprint logon is enabled. Tried to uninstall Validity Sensor and then reinstall it, didn't work.

    OS: Win7 (x 64)

    Thank you in advance!

    See you soon,.

    Thomas

In the meantime, I found the solution:

I've updated HP Client (sp63509) Security Manager, opened the program, registered my fingerprints and checked 'Windows logon security' at home/Advanced Settings / Security Features.

It finally works, I can not connect with my fingerprints.
(Again, under control panel / biometric devices there is no item listed)

  • What is the problem with my DigitalPersona fingerprint reader?

I have the dv6-2170ee, Windows 7 64-bit, with the DigitalPersona software manage my fingerprint reader.

It's a curse or something that makes the reader to stop working, with "the fingerprint reader is not connected. Connect the drive "to the interface of the RFP.

At the start, it works, then a few hours later and he is no longer detected.

I used to solve this problem in 2 ways, reboot the laptop, or deactivation/activation of the sensor of validity in the Device Manager.

But it stops again a few hours later.

    Version 2.1.0.2 validity sensor

    DigitalPersona version 4.11.3826

BTW, the DP is current, updated 2 days ago, but the problem showing it before the update and it increased after.

I contacted the Support of DP Technology, they said that we have taken care for your version of our product.

    Help, please!

    Thank you!

I installed this update with no result

If only someone told me that the "Full Power" option solve the problem...

I tried days previously, the problem never happened again.

    Thank you.

  • DigitalPersona fingerprint reader not detected

    Hello

I just bought a DV4-1302tx and it happened a week ago. The fingerprint reader has no problem in terms of use (windows login) and online account connection. However, after that I run HP Healthcheck, validity sensor is listed as a recommended update, that I've updated. At the next reboot, in my view, the drive is no longer detected.

There is a Validity Sensor being listed as the connected device connected USB device icon. the DigitalPersona software appears the error of re - install the driver. personal identifier in the Device Manager has listed version of validity 2.0.0.1c sensor and no error message.

    Troubleshooting done so far:

    (i) redownload updates for Validity sensor of HP Healthcheck as she is constantly listed as a recommended update after initial installation. PROBLEM PERSISTS

(II) DigitalPersona to uninstall and re-install using Recovery Manager. PROBLEM PERSISTS

(III) driver Validity Sensor to uninstall and re-install using Recovery Manager. PROBLEM PERSISTS

(IV) system restore attempt to reverse the HP Healthcheck on Validity Sensor update. Restore failed, no changes applied. PROBLEM PERSISTS

    (v) check if the driver rear roller possible for Validity Sensor, option is grayed out. PROBLEM PERSISTS

(VI) site of DigitalPersona check the update on the version of the software, not successful. the only security update is for the old version. PROBLEM PERSISTS

(VII) check the HP website to download driver. Only driver Validity Sensor is located, and this is the last version that is installed on my system (2.0.0.1c). PROBLEM PERSISTS

I'm running out of idea to make it work. I book the total recovery of the system ultimately, someone has the same problem? Other recommendations? Please help, thanks!

I think that through the messages of the forum, I found a solution to my problem above. Just remove the driver from the Device Manager, and then run a scan to "detect the hardware changes" in Device Manager, Windows detects an unknown device and auto apply driver version 1.3.xxx to install. Drive is functional immediately after installation.

I have also received confirmation of DigitalPersona support only version 1.3.xx driver should be used, 2xxx will cause conflicts. I wonder why HP Healthcheck invites you to update a driver, defective, inconsistent and cause so much inconvenience to all the world instead. A total discount of the satisfaction of users.

    Kenny

    DigitalPersona support response:

    "

Hello Kenny, the HP HealthCheck tool seems to update your drivers of validity to an incompatible version with our software.  The proper drivers should be 1.3.1.  Please try to restore your drivers. Thank you

    Hi Ze,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

I am sorry to say that Microsoft Fingerprint Reader is not compatible with the Windows 7 operating system from the link:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/en-in/d/fingerprint-reader

You can install the drivers in compatibility mode and verification.

Most programs written for Windows Vista also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. If a program written for an earlier version of Windows does not work, you can try changing the compatibility of the program settings, either manually or by using the program compatibility problems.

Make older programs run in this version of Windows:

    2. What is the brand and model of the fingerprint reader?

3 - is a built-in or connected to external fingerprint reader?

    4. using a touch screen?

    5. where exactly you get the option to scan fingerprints?

Please provide us with more information on this issue to help you best.

  • Re: Tecra Z40, Win 8.1 - malfunction of the fingerprint reader

    DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM:

My Tecra Z40 arrived with Win 8.1.
From the beginning I couldn't use the fingerprint utility.
When you access the utility won't happen for a while and then the error: "Could not connect to the fingerprint reader" has finally popped up.

I could also not use the actual construction of fingerprints 8.1 Win (error: this device has biometric devices is not suitable). (PS mind that this built in function is now integrated into the subway and no device biometric parameters are not now present in the control panel to 8.1 win!)

The problem has persisted despite the last fingerprint utility (which comes with the drivers) have been installed to win 8.1. 64-bit directly from the website of TOSHIBA and despite that a biometric device was still present in the Task Manager ("this device is working properly").

    SOLUTION:

After literally weeks of research (including getting help from the shop and service Toshiba), I could finally solve the problem.

I uninstalled the driver and the reader of fingerprints from the Device Manager (then only fingerprint reader drivers really disappear).
Then I cleaned the registry (I used CC cleaner software) (or install new wasn't a reason any).

Finally, I installed a Fingerprint Utility equivalent and the driver for Tecra Z50 (fp - sw - 20140605164020.zip) (which I expect to be using the exact same sensor)... and since then everything works fine.

I can now access the utility of fingerprinting and fingerprint log on in Windows.

    SUGGESTION OF CORRECTIVE MEASURES:

It seems the driver on Toshiba support website (I think for me it was the Poles) for my exact machine (made by TOSHIBA - detector.exe) is incorrect.
To make matters worse the driver does not communicate useful information on his miss - fit in the Task Manager! If I had to recalculate, in money, as long as I have and a whole lot of support persons had spent on it, there really meaning to improve this list of drivers!

(PS: one of the files in the same directory online regpatch has a virus (VIRUS A Yes) it has been recognized by Antivir!) -Toshiba, you can communicate with someone responsible for the Polish support site!)

    OUTSTANDING ISSUES:

No fingerprints, login is possible in Mozilla or Internet Explorer despite the appropriate plugins have been installed as well as the utility of fingerprints, where the web password option has been activated. (no suggestion seems to appear to reach the service fingerprints for the sites that require passwords, maybe that your service gets blocked by popup blocking browser protection?).

I'm really looking forward to this feature.
Make sure that the plugins work correctly with the latest browsers.

    Greetings

Hey thanks for this interesting thread and a detailed description.

  • Windows 8 fingerprint reader no longer works (need to Flash the BIOS to fix)

I have a DV6-7014nr bought around September of 2012.  I have upgraded to WIndows 8 when it first came out.  I had no problem with the reader of fingerprints on Windows 7, but do not use for a long time.

As the subject says.  I can run it for a few weeks (on Windows 8), and the fingerprint reader stops working.  None of the biometric devices are listed in the Device Manager.  If I try to load the driver, it does nothing, as if the player is simply not there the responsibility of the driver closes just (with no message).

Peripheral Biometirc in the Panel control says there is no biometric device found and simplepass opens without the fingerprint reader recognized.

The only thing that solves this is my BIOS which comes Insyde to re-flashing. It is noted in the setup of the BIOS relating to biometric devices.  I have just discovred that BIOS update solves a problem because there was an update that I applied.  Have to reapply the update of the BIOS to fix this seems excessive to us.

    Added March 29, 2013:

I just re-applied the BIOS two days ago and already the figerprint teader plug working again.  I tried a hard reset (because I saw that as a solution previously, and it is easier and faster to re-flashing the BIOS).  Who has shut down, remove the battery, now the power for 30 seconds button, boot the system without the battery.  He has not fixed the problem and I can't even understand why the fingerprint reader keeps disabling.  A re-BIOS flash solves the problem, it seems that the problem must be with the BIOS software.  Oh I also had turned off the "Allow windows to turn off the device to save power" for the biometric device before he went kaput.  It doesn't stop of is suckier.

There must be a better way.

    Thank you

    Hello cjwh888,

Try to restore your BIOS then use Recovery Manager to restore your software and drivers.

Please let me know if it helps.

    Good luck!

  • And fingerprint reader UPEK Protector Suite problems

I have a laptop of VGZ-Z590 series. I tried to update my program Protector Suite and driver to support a newer version of Firefox. After several hours of frustration, I lost all the features of the fingerprint reader. Nothing of what I'm doing, including roll using the system restore works.

I downloaded the drivers for Win7 and good program from the eSupport site. When I install it, it seems to have completed since I get the message "Completed" in the program. After I finished, I get a Windows error install saying it didn't install properly!

Someone had a little luck upgrading the Z Series notebook to the latest version of the drivers UPEK and Protector Suite software? Are there special methods or tricks I have to respect?

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 QJ916AAR: fingerprint reader problems

    Hello

This is my first post so I apologize if it appears in the wrong place. I'll have a problem with the fingerprint reader and HP simple pass identity protection software that came with my Dv6-QJ916AAR. For some reason any all of a sudden since this morning it will not work. There is no light on the sensor, and it fails every time and movement. When I run the single pass software and go to the fingerprint section, it shows the fingerprint reader is not connected. Interestingly, when I go to Device Manager I see no biometric devices listed under there. I read on another thread that some options below biometic devices in Device Manager solves the problem.

I already tried pass Simple uninstall/reinstall the Recovery Manager and also uninstalled and updated validity sensor but still no go.  Here are some other details:

    Laptop model: Dv6-QJ916AAR

Operating system: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

I can't find any other information on how to solve it. Can anyone help?

    Thank you!

Help! I tried making these forums, and nothing has worked.

My fingerprint reader worked fine this morning when I registered in windows.  A few hours later, it just stopped working.  HP Simple pass seems even not recognize more.

I tried to restore my system.  Did not work.

I tried to reinstall the driver for the HP fingerprint reader.  Did not work.

I'm stuck, and I would really like to have it working again.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You did not state your OS: assuming that Windows 8-64 bit

HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC drivers & downloads

Assuming that you are on the last SimplePass HP as indicated on your website-

It's important and where it should be:

    sp61399 HP SimplePass V6.0.100.272 Win7-8

NOTE: This version works on Windows 7 AND Windows 8

    ==================================================================================

When you say that you have reinstalled the HP driver,

    • You download and install the driver from your Web site?

    Validity sensor driver:

    sp58900 validity sensor V4.4.234.0

    ==================================================================================

    You could try the following:

Specifications - power reset to solve Hardware and Software issues-Non-removable battery

    OR

Laptops - power reset to solve hardware and software - removable battery

Power reset cannot tell the difference between drivers - it does not analyze a driver before applying.

    EXAMPLE:

    • If the driver on the disk is the wrong driver before rebooting, it's always the wrong driver after the reset.
    • If the INSTRUCTIONS of the driver are tangled, messed up, missing or damaged, then the reset may solve the problem.

Why a power reset works to solve some problems:

The power reset does not install anything on your computer, it does not remove anything from your computer and reset does not "alter" on your computer.  Your data and programs remain as they were before the reset has been applied.  Reset runs the old instructions and makes the computer go to the operating system on drive to get new instructions.

Why a power reset does not work:

If the problem is more than a simple tangle, if 'good job' on the computer is not good enough - in other words, you need an update, a new driver, or there is a problem that can not be "unraveled", then reset won't work.

If there is a hardware problem power reset will not work.

    ===================================================================================

    If no joy:

Assuming that you can see at least now the validity sensor driver in Device Manager > biometrics

    Then

    • Download the Driver of your validity sensor:

    sp58900 validity sensor V4.4.234.0

    • Open Control Panel > Device Manager > open biometric devices >
    • Right click on your validity sensor driver > Uninstall (check AND delete)
    • Reboot the laptop and connect
    • Install the downloaded Validity Sensor driver
    • Reboot the laptop and connect

    ====================================================================================

    A suggestion:

Do not skip the requested reboots...

    Good luck!
