  Did you run HP Support Assistantto help update the drivers?

  Have you tried to use the troubleshooter in Windows?

  Thanks for the return of the response.  I've included the Dell Web site below for the latest drivers, firmware and BIOS updates.  I would like to confirm that you are the first on the updates.

  If you look in the support section, other users have reported this problem.  In some cases, replace the power supply cable has solved this problem and I show other update to the latest BIOS update and this has changed.

  Also, do you have the Dell Diagnostics on your computer?  This is usually installed by the manufacturer, but you can run a test to determine if there is a hardware problem.

  Laptop is Vista Dell Inspiron 1420. My adapter/load came out. I always plugged in b/c my screen was so hard to see dim. When it is plugged in, the light was bright. Got new adapter/charger and in a clogged filter still dim and the battery icon does not load. It says "42%" and your current plan may reduce the battery life. What does that mean? What should I do on the issue of the brightness?

  For the issue of the brightness, there should be two key that looks like a Sun. Press FN + brighten or dim your screen. For your power options, go to control panel and select Power Options and see what choices are available to you.

• Why my laptop Windows 7 same dim so I changed the settings?

  Hello. I use a laptop ASUS Eee PC with Windows 7 and I noticed a problem that I can't solve. I decided to change my settings to allow my laptop ever less bright and put into hibernation. However, it fades little matter what I try. I went to power settings to set all the parameters brightness and all say 'never '. I already searched the Internet for alternatives and found that it could be the Adaptive brightness. However, when I went to the power settings advanced and looked into the display list where the Adaptive brightness setting should be, he was not there. No option to disable the Adaptive brightness. Even if all my settings are confirmed NEVER to cloud my screen it still happens. I found another way to disable this feature and it is through services.msc. I have disabled the function of Adaptive brightness, but without success. Then I found yet another way to open the Intel Graphics Control Panel. I put the settings to use the high performance and never dim. Once again, without success. My screen turns off every 30 seconds that it is not in use. Can you please tell me what could be the cause of the problem? I have searched with the search terms different and no success. I really want my screen to stay alive, no matter what. What else could be the problem?

  1, 2 of these results, I don't think that your computer screen has Adaptive brightness.  The subject is a Kipper.

  3 I used a path of the folder of the example.  I don't know the path to your own office.  "Type in this [but substitute a folder path of your own to a convenient location], and then press enter powercfg - qh > D:\Desktop\ThisPowerPlan.txt"replace D:\Desktop with something like C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Desktop or practice any other path to any folder on your computer. "  (You can show that it was the only problem involved by entering just powercfg - qh as this will show you the long results lists [too fast to read] so that you know the basic command works.})

  3 I think that when you look at the results text file, you will have the same values that my computer, therefore demonstrate more that your computer screen did not display adaptive capabilities.

  4 it is possible that you will get the same results for the Dim display settings than me or you could get zero who indicates that there is always a delay of graduation [this seems to indicate that the system is somehow not getting the power plan settings that you have entered in the Control Panel, power management].  If so, copy & post back the same vein I posted in my para 4 above.

  Your video card was built by AMD/ATI?

  If so, the Vari-Bright feature must be on. To fix this, go to:

  1 AMD Vision Engine Control Center (or AMD Catalyst Control Center)

  2 power

  3 PowerPlay

  4. uncheck the ' enable Vari-Bright ".

  and that will fix your problem.

  OK, so it's kind of weird sny idea what would cause my HP 15-f305dx screen to dim after he wake from sleep? Could be the memory, causing this problem or should I try and reinstall the ati drivers with old ati drivers?

  Hey Sparkles1 thanks for your reply, I forgot to remove this matter from sadley. I was able to fix that pretty easy. I uninstalled the current ati drivers and reloaded an older version. That seems to have cured the problem without any other issues.

  I have a laptop HP ENVY m6 and I've recently updated to windows 8.1 and noticed a problem. My laptop screen fades to himself and becomes a sortof bright / not so beautiful in color. The window border becomes more bright and gross to research as well. When I open the notebook in a maximized window, the colors of the window border and everything becomes more enjoyable and better color quality until I have play it down and go to the desktop or another program. It is really annoying and makes the game of games on my pc not so pleasant.

  Reality: I didn't belive it's a graphics card problem. I have a second monitor hooked up to the color and the laptop runs very well on it.

  Its not noticeable to screenshots of office or records. Just my opinion on the outside.

  Certainly sounds like your backlight.

  It is possible, but it occurs and you need to disassemble the laptop and the screen.

  Still, I would recommend that you have a HP or authorized service center for repair.

  You can call HP and arrange the repair, it will cost much more than the only part though, as it covers labour and shipping in both directions.

  We will try the following methods and check if it helps.
   
  Method 1: Enable adaptive brightness and see if brightness improves:
   
  1. press Windows + X key together on the keyboard button.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. click on power under Control Panel Options.
  4. Select the settings of under balanced plan.
  5. click on change advanced power settings.
  6 expand the view.
  7. turn on the Enable Adaptive brightness.
   
  If this method does not improve the brightness of the screen, turn off Adaptive brightness allow once again.
   
  Method 2: If you still face the question, I suggest to download graphics drivers on the manufacturer's Web site and follow the link below and install the drivers of graphics card in compatibility mode.

• Computer laptop screen dimmed permanently

  I have a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop. At startup, the HP logo and start windows, screens are normal maximum intensity, but as soon as the desktop shows that it is remarkably low. Brightness is set to full.

  It is not a question of monitor as a second monitor also shows that the same brightness. I tried to change options of PowerPlay of CCC and all the power plan settings in the display settings. Nothing has changed. Nothing changes on a restart. I've had this problem before, but stupidly did not record the solution once I found it.

  Any help would be appreciated, I looked through a lot of similar positions and have not found anything that works yet.

  But it seems to be fixed.

  I checked the display drivers in the device several times Manager and they were up to date. When I checked again after another stop, one of the display drivers listed had changed. So, hoping for the best, I uninstalled them and rebooted, and everything was back to normal.

  Like I said, it's happened and I remember now the solution is something similar. I think this may have coincided with an update of Windows, but I still don't know why it happened.
