Dimension 5150 cpu Upgrade

I have 4 dell dimension 5150's and you want to update all the 4 fastest possible CPU for this old of a computer.

Would an Intel Pentium D 945 3.4 work GHz LGA 775 CPU SL9QQ 4 M/800 Presler Dual Core?

They now have PROCESSORS, 3.06, 524, 1 MB, PENTIUM 4 PRESCOTT DT, G1

Or what is the best I could get in these?

I have windows 7 and hoping to be able to get up to 10 but the 524 is not compatible.

scbauml

The Pentium D945 is the maximum that can be used in the Dimension 5150/E510.

However, if you don't have motherboard 0HJ054 installed and upgrade the processor on most other motherboards will rise a 'incompatible CPU"at startup and need to press F1

The Dimension 5150/E510 does not support all of the processors Pentium G20xx series, these require a different motherboard and socket.
.
The motherboard for the Dimension 5150/E510 has a Socket LGA 775 and can't stand not all processors Core 2 Duo/Core 2 Quad, single Socket LGA 775, P4 and Pentium D can be used.

The Pentium D945 is the maximum that can be used in these models.

Before upgrading the processor, make sure you have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

  • Dimension 5150 CPU upgrade options

    Hello

I bought my Dimension 5150 almost 2 years ago. It uses a Pentium D 2.8 Ghz and his mother is an Intel i954G using socket LGA 775. I would like to know what are my options to upgrade CPU. If it is still possible to upgrade my CPU.

I did some research and saw that this motherboard supports CPU C2D. Responses of the other forums of stress that the upgrade of processor is impossible because Dell locks the mobo/bios, it is impossible to upgrade (it will never recognize the new processor). It's a shame if I can't upgrade my CPU because the rest is pretty decent. I have 3 GB of RAM and a HD3850.

If possible, Dell only updated for the customer? And what is the best processor I can get which is supported by this mobo?

    Thank you.

EDIT: I double checked and it seems that there are a lot of confusion if my Board can support a C2D even if it's a mobo socket LGA775. List of site Intels C2D's as usable processor Intel 945 G express boards. BTW, I improved my diet to a 460 Watt cooler master.

  • Dell Dimension C521 CPU Upgrade

Hi all. I have a Dimension C521 (feat) and I would like my CPU from a AMD Sempron (TM) Processor 3400 + ~1.8GHz to an AMD Athlon 64 X 2 6000 3.0 GHz 2 MB socket AM2 89W ADA6000IAA6CZ. But I'm not sure about a few things, that's why I'm here. I would like to know:

    • If the AMD Athlon 64 6000 works with my computer of x 2
    • What is the recommended BIOS
    • If the fan the C521 comes with is good enough to keep it cool
    • If a 280W 955.39BTU / h Maximum PSU is fine
    • If you have any questions = D

    Here is the owner's manual, if it'll help - ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_desktop/esuprt_dimension_desktops/dimension-c521_owner ' s%20manual_en-us.pdf

Also, if I had to update my GPU, what would you recommend?

    xXEblisXx

    The Athlon 64 X 2 6000 + 3.0 Ghz, 89W Windsor, will work.

Before installing the processor, make sure you have the latest version of the BIOS version installed 1.1.11, with BIOS version 1.1.4 support AMD has been added.

The default fan and the PSU should be fine.

  • Dell Dimension E520 CPU Upgrade

Hi, I upgraded my CPU because it is too slow, and that I am I going to pay $ 80 instead of the usual price of $250. I would like to know if they are compatible with my system. All the I know is that they have the same type of socket (LGA 775). Here is the link: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115060CVF

Here's my current computer specs: 4 GB RAM DDR2 1 GB GDDR5 128 bit AMD video card, 1.86Ghz Intel core 2 duo CPU (valued at 3.33 Ghz) and a 305 power w.

If I need to change the power supply, I would love to know because I have one here that's 750w I could also use. Thank you.

I don't know where to find them, so if someone could possibly direct me, I BIOS Phoenix technologies.

    Thanks a lot again!

The Core 2 Quad Q9505 Yorkfield 2.83 GHz LGA775 95W shown in your link is not compatible with the e520.

All Socket LGA 775 processors, listed HERE are compatible.

There should be no need to improve the power supply for a processor upgrade.

  • Dell dimension e510 CPU upgrade

Almost 2 years ago, I bought a dell dimension e510 with the pentium d 820 installed processor desktop computer but now I want to put the best processor in it it may take. I put the back of 820 to and it worked fine but the same 960 post custom. I thought that maybe the processor could be bad, so I sent it back, but the seller (seller ebay w / 99% positive feedback) says that it worked fine when he tested and it sends to me.

I would like to know if anyone knows why it might not work, I need a different version of the card mother e510, make, it would be inconsistent, or I need to do something special (like asking dell for permission?)

  • The upgrade of old Dell Dimension 2400 CPU, GPU, memory, etc...

Mainly interested in CPU upgrade at this time. I have download CPU - Z to determine my profile and I provide this stitched-together set screenshots of this program:

I just put the CPU of my Dimension 5150 friend successfully. I would only reproduce on my 2400 - a much smaller machine. This computer is mainly used for the casual internet browsing, and sometimes I watch a Youtube video. The only programs that really tax the CPU are my disk defragmentation and the program CCleaner. When I have a great session of internet browsing of 100 + tabs, the CPU also emerged at this time here.

I want to the maximum this computer using cheap parts upgrades, that I can buy it on eBay. On my 5150 friend, I bought a processor upgrade for $5 delivered and a thermal paste to ebay for 80 cents. I wouldn't mind buying a cheap video card and processor to upgrade this old workhorse

The Dimension 2400 can use 400 MHz or 533 MHz, Socket 478, P - 4 Northwood or Celeron processor with a 512 k or more small cache.

You cannot use all processors Prescott [1 MB cache].

The maximum support of the processor is P - 4 Northwood, 533 MHz, Socket 478, 3.06 GHz.

Before upgrading the processor, make sure you have the latest version of the BIOS installed.

With regard to the video card, only the PCI cards are supported, no PCI Express card is supported.

The Dimension 2400 supports a maximum of 2 GB (2 x 1 GB Modules) memory DDR.

  • The Dimension 3000 processor upgrade

I want to improve my old dimension 3000 D325 celeron processor equipped with a pentium 4.

When I looked in the Dell user manual it says that the best processor I can get is a pentium 4 at 3.2 Ghz with hyper thread.

When I looked at the site http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel _ (chipsets) 865GV.html it says I can put a 3.4 Ghz! and the list of the processor is much longer.

Is there anyone who knows if I can use a pentium 4 3.4 GHz, 1 MB L2 cache with hyper threading?

    lingophi

    Either the Socket 478, P4 3.2 GHz or the 3.4 GHz P - 4 will work.

Before you replace the processor, verify that the BIOS Version A03 is installed, when adding support for the latest processors has been added.

  • Dell Dimension 5150 do not start LED logo on 123 + progress bar is stuck at 5% no beeps

My old Dell Dimension 5150 has sometimes suffered from crashes during startup for quite awhile, but it now appears permanent.

The symptom is the logo dell appears, but the startup progress bar stops at 5%, diagnosis LED 1,2 & 3 are stable on, power light is green fixed, no beeps, no response to the keys.

In the past disconnecting the cable for 5 minutes, which gives all the internal connectors a re-allocation of places, you try to start again seemed to do the trick, but no more.

  • Equium L20-264 - CPU upgrade

    Hello world

I have Toshiba Equium L20-264 and I want to move into gear
    Can someone help me please?

I had already upgraded to 2 GB of Ram, but my CPU is still 1.4 GHz.

Please guide me what to do and if it supports several Ghz processor, which will be the best place to buy.

    Thank you.

I assume that you have not read all the posts here in the forum about upgrading the CPU s for laptop?
    Did you?

    Some facts first:
Update CPU is very delicate and depends on the chipset and BIOS support.
In case one of the parties (chipset or bios) would not support new CPU, the will to power laptop on.

Second: the laptop seems to be equipped with an Intel Celeron - M CPU, and I suppose the other Intel Celeron-M CPU be compatible:
    Intel Celeron M 370 (1.5 Ghz)
    Intel Celeron M 380 (1.6 Ghz)

Everything supports the FSB 400 Mhz

But guess what? Even if you add the new processor at 1.6 Ghz, the performance gain will be not noticeable. So in my eyes, CPU upgrade for this old book is useless. It won't add any performance benefits.

  • Satellite Pro L630 - 14L - CPU upgrade possible?

Is it possible to upgrade processor in this model: L630 14 L? If yes what processors are supported?
Another question - my hdmi port stopped working - is the possible replacement?

    Hello

With regard to the question on the CPU upgrade:
This question was asked several times here in the forum. I recommend you read the other discussions on upgrading the CPU.

Usually, the case is simple: the manufacturers of portable don t support this upgrade for clean products. The CPU is delicate because the new processor must be based on two essential elements: chipset and BIOS.

The laptop supports the Mobile Intel HM55 Express Chipset.
So, you know, what would the CPU supported by the chipset.
But like I said above: the BIOS support is also important and finally everything depends on the BIOS whether your new processor works or not.

    Hello

I doubt that the CPU upgrade would be possible. You should read this article:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

This error message is it exactly that you get Windows 7? Normally you get only a low battery notification, you need to Exchange or connect the power supply.
