Dimension 8400 will not light

The power button does nothing. It is not yet a little to feel like there's a switch behind the button, but I do not use this computer frequently if I am not sure. I thought it would be the food if I swapped this possibility. Nothing. When you first plug in, the fan moves for a second, then stops. There is a little green light that says in the corner of the motherboard, but nothing else does nothing.

Any ideas?

Ron, I checked the connection in the image. Indeed, it is a little loose, but re-allocation of seats it did not help. The behavior has not changed.

I try now to be able to actually see the power button/switch itself. I was able to get off the back cover but not the front (which is of course one bearing on the switch. I find no documentation to help with this. Do you know of any? I have already broken a couple of small pieces of plastic that contain some of the covers and want to do no damage!

The Start button / stop and the circuit board is a unit. Dell has not released a guide to remove the front panel of the 8400 Dimension, you can use this NOTE from the ADMINGUIDE: broken link has been removed from this post by Dell >, it's for a small Optiplex GX50 Mini Tower, but the procedures are the same.

Connector to cable/LCD CHEK the EDP as thos:

    1. Unscrew the screws of the bottom
    2. Drop the bottom
    3. Disconnect the battery from the motherboard

  • Curve Smartphones blackBerry 8330 will not light

Hello I had my Blackberry Curve 8330 on my Verizon plan for 2 months and the trackball fell and the phone now will not light. No, he is not dead. I loaded hours (the light turns while loading) and yet the phone still turn. Please help and thank you

Leave the appliance to charge on a wall charger, then, still connected to the cable, remove the battery from the camera for a minute and reinsert. If it starts - let - the charges to 100% (check the Options > status for the percentage). If it is not restart on the first attempt, leave several hours. I had a charge for two days before, she came back to life after extreme exhaustion of the battery. Every 3-4 hours with the device plugged into the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it restarts.

  • Satellite L500-19 x - is automatically disabled and will not light

    Hello
I was in the middle of my review using my laptop stated above, when it is just off, it was plugged, it wasn't the battery for this purpose. But it does not ignite again, I disconnected from the grid and normally when it is running on AC it will acknowledge this with a light, but doesn't work. Also when I push the power button or network it will not turn on.

I bought the laptop in December 2009 and it happened the first week I had, but the computer was warm to the touch and more heated theresfore, but this time the laptop wasn't hot yet and that he had been on 1/2 hour. I decided to leave a few hours and when I tried again to the base of the laptop is cold to the touch, but it not always light.

I was wondering if someone could help me understand what's wrong with it

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

There's LEDs, while the AC adapter is plugged?
If this isn't the case, then there could be something wrong with the AC adapter or the mother for laptop.
But if you are sure that the adapter is 100% ok, then it might be a problem with the laptop.

It is difficult to say what might be wrong here as mentioned; If the LEDs shine t n, then mobo could be affected if the power LED to, then you should check the bars of memory in some cases the laptop would be light not because of faulty memory so it s certainly worth a check

I have a NetGear Wireless - N Dual Band, but dell WNDA3100 USB won't pick it up. The flash player is on, but it will not install the new software. It is said there was a problem and it probably won't work correctly.

    Any ideas? Thank you!

first go to the device driver and uninstall everything dealing with netgear.

just a thought you have wireless zero config service started/automatic services?

After all your updates should be installed which will disable the autorun, so that when you insert a usb key, nothing will happen until you go to my computer and click on the device to open it, this was done so that you would have a chance to scan a usb usb being one of the fastest ways to spread a virus If she had previously plugged into an infected pc.

  • New Sansa e260 will not light

    Hello

I just got my new sansa e260 and after it loads for a day and a half, it not light. I tried to hold the power button for a long time, but it would not turn. When connected to a pc, it says 'connected' and shows that the battery is charging. I can browse files, etc. However, if I unplug the PC, it goes dead.

I tried to update the firmware, but it fails. I changed the settings of the MTP to MSC USB device with no luck!

Any idea what's going on? All the solutions out there for this issue?

If you just bought the camera, it is often simpler to contact the vendor for an Exchange, as most have a return policy that covers just this kind of question.

Because it is often faster and more convenient for the customer, SanDisk recommends this solution first of all, in the interest of you up and running quickly.  The retailer can then send the device to SanDisk on their end.

The process of return of SanDisk is great, they pay even the return shipping costs.  The only downside is that it can take a few weeks (total).

the originating computer to reformat due to some problems with windows it is why all drivers are not available. What happen so I search methods to install it. I found two drivers in the net 1 to 1.3 and 1.6

I install 1.3 first then when I saw that the bios version is 1.6 I have also install version 1.6 of the atom driver

This 1.6 release includes fendil 2. for some reason, I think this is the reason why the computer does not work. because after I install the computer restarts and there is a black screen, saying that this bios will be promoted this type of bios. something like that.

can someone tell me what to do because the computer does not respond to any button at all

Sorry to say but it looks like you managed to Flash the BIOS with software bad and nothing happens when you press the power button because it does not know what to do,

I hope it is still under warranty because it is impossible to set a BIOS corrupted with the software.

  • Sansa e260 will not light

My sansa e260 lights.  If I connect it to my computer or docking functions fine... it is only if it is not connected to anyting that turns any.  I get all the lights or any type of answer from him when I hold the power button

Could be your battery does not have a good connection or he is dead as the proverbial nail holder. When the drive is connected, which shows the battery indicator? Is the bolt of lightning driven falshing? The battery icon to see the green or white?

You can check the connections (and review any corrosion on the terminals) by removing the 4 screws on the back. Make sure not to lose them in the carpet, because you can not just go out and buy more from your hardware store. Remove the back and lift off the battery. It slides just in & out as a cell phone battery; nothing to merge or unplug. Discover contacts spring and look at the battery casing for any signs of leakage or corrosion.

But you will also have the chance, even if you do not notice something out of the ordinary. The simple procedure to remove the battery for a short period of time and then replace it actually ensures a system of re - configure on the device, it can be triggered just for you after reassembly with no indication as to what was wrong.

If you determine that you have a bad battery but or don't want to risk buying a new to try it you can find them on Amazon.com or eBay.

  • My wife has a new HP pavillion h8-1090 computer t of office. Sometimes the computer will not light.

When this happens that the green light is not on to food. Move gently the power cord where it connects will cause the Green led comes on.  There seems to be a very loose connection where the power cord connects the computer. My question is, are they known to be exceptionally tight connectors and we do not get plugged in all of the way. I do not force too hard, but on the other hand, a bad connection is playing with fire.  If the case is moved, he could lose the connection.

    Hi Keith,

Your PC is under warranty, so you have to contact HP support.  HP support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or here online.

Yes, these connections must be tight enough.  It is possible that the molded end of the power supply cable is incorrect.  These cords are pretty standard, so if you have another to try to give it a go then.

Pull the cord all the way out and see if something blocks to insert completely.  Look in the power supply for obstructions, and note the distance that the CAP should go into the power socket.

  • Re: Satellite C660-28dts over heated and now will not light

My Toshiba C660-28dts was on and working very well.
The base was hot and the laptop is off.

I just assumed it had overheated and cut.
I left it for more than 24 hours, due I commitments, when I tried to turn it on nothing happened.
I noticed that when you press the power button the Green LED flashed for a few seconds then went off.

The fan did not run, the display does not illuminate.
It's the same thing with the power supply and output cable.

It does not sound very well.
It looks like a serious hardware problem.

In the best case, it's just a problem of RAM module. It would be easy to fix.
You can replace the RAM modules just to check if it of the case.

Otherwise, it would be a related problem of motherboard and I guess in this case it s you will need to replace the motherboard.
The new motherboard is an expensive part, so you have to decide what you want to do

  • HP Photosmart C8180 will not light

    Hello

I have a HP PhotoSmart C8180.  I recently moved and the printer was working fine until I moved it, but once it was plugged in after the move, the printer lights not at all.  The move was only 1/2 mile so he simply sat nicely on a car for the car seat and has not been disturbed around.  I tried a second original HP power and it made no difference.

The power light comes on and the system powers the LightScribe disc but nothing else.  Making sure power is disconnected for hours even before plugging it back in does not give any different results.  I tried to press a variety of buttons while it turn to try to force a system reset any without change as well.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

    Keith

Thank you.  I had no time to answer back previously, but in fact, this has been resolved.  I think that what ended up finding it was the small watch battery figure on the map system inside the printer, leaving all the drains of power that remained in the chips, then put the whole thing back together again.  After turning on it always came not for a few minutes and then roar back to life again.

    Thank you!

  • Laptop HP 15 15 t-r160: computer laptop HP 15 - model 15 t-r160 will not light

I repair this laptop for a student who dropped the laptop at the rear left. I replaced all items broken or damaged hardware, but the mobile feed. It not turn on when she first he brought me so it must be a result of his fall, he. I did some research and tried all basic troubleshooting. I tried to do a hard reset, inspected all power button, replaced mounting with a brand new power button, detached and inspected all electrical port, confirmed that the magnet is located in the lid, etc... Currently, the laptop has no power cord or battery attached. No devices are attached. I ended up just try an another hard rest, press and hold the power button for ahour more this time. No go. I tested the power adapter and the power source, check everything very well. I tried to use a universal power adapter.

When the adapter is connected and plugged the whote in the charging port light is on. When I press the power button for the wireless press F12 to light up briefly (1 second) then turns off. No planned activity or noise can't indicating that she is turning.

Beased on my research, I knew that this is a problem with the lid switch, but I don't know what else to do or try. I'm a bit confused on how the lid switch may be the problem considering the cover is open, trying to power. The sensor thinks the lid is closed? In addition, where the sensor is located? My research leads me to believe that it is on the map of power button. But I don't know about you.

    Any ideas?

    THANKS in advance!

Actually, I figured out it is the LCD screen adaptor cable that it prevented power. The cable is frayed to. I expect that the BIOS OF THE system would have emmitted a series of beeps or something that indicates, but no. Disconnect the cable to the motherboard display adapter, then connect a monitor via a cable HDMI enabled power system and start the POST. Hope this helps someone else.

  • I uninstalled MsE and reinstalled to hopefully solve a problem. Now it doesn't let me turn it on. I hit the "Activate" button, but she disappears for a while and still will not light.

I have win xp... .i get an error message and when I run a scan it shuts down before the end of the quick scan.  I uninstalled my MSE and reinstalled in an attempt to correct some of the problem.  now, when I pull up to my it says that it is not enabled... There is a button to turn it on, but it doesn't seem to work.  An update popped up, but it does not update as well.  Any ideas?

    Hello

    1. What is the error you get with MSE?

    2. don't you make changes to the computer before this problem?

    3. have you updated to Service Pack 3 installed? (Refer to this article: how to determine the Version of Windows XP in use: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310104 )

    4. What is the error you get when you try to install the update that popped up?

This problem may occur if there is a 3rd party software security installed or if the MOUSE is not installed correctly or due to an infection if the MSE files are corrupt.

    Follow these methods.

    Method 1.

If you have other anti-malware or security programs on your computer, try to uninstall in order to check if that helps. If there is no other program anti-malware on your computer or uninstalling it does not help then the problem another possibility is there was malicious software on your computer before installing MSE.

    Method 2.

Windows Defender offline can help eliminate hard to find malicious and potentially unwanted programs using definitions that recognize the threats. Definitions are files that provide an encyclopedia of potential software threats. Armed with definition files, Windows Defender in offline mode can detect malicious and potentially unwanted software and then inform you of the risks.

What is Windows Defender Offline? : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/what-is-windows-defender-offline

Note: There could be a loss of data while performing a mode offline scan using Windows Defender to remove viruses as appropriate.

    Method 3.

It is possible MSE has not installed correctly. Go to control panel > Add/Remove programs and uninstall all the antimalware programs listed including Windows Defender if present and Microsoft Security Essentials. Once all of these programs are uninstalled, restart the computer and you should be able to properly install MSE.

You can download MSE from this link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5201

  • Set to start in safe mode, will not light

My computer was working normally, no problem, no virus. I was troubleshooting a wireless connection problem and decided to try the safe mode, boot in safe mode. I tried to restart my computer in SafeMode with F8, but this does not work, it's just booted normally. Then I put manually the configuration to restart in safe mode (system configuration > boot > safe mode). After the attempt to restart the computer, it starts, but never turned on, nothing appears on the monitor. I tried several times, nothing. I also checked the material, that is not the issue. Powers of computer, tries to start, but nothing ever appears on screen.

    Computer running Windows 7 Pro

No idea what could cause this, or how to solve without a clean installation?

Try a system repair disc to start.  If you have not done one for you, you can do it on another Windows 7 computer as long as it matches the number of bits of yours (32 vs 64)

You need a blank CD recordable.  Start, all programs, Maintenance, on the other PC.

Insert the CD into your computer and start your PC, you must make sure that the PC actually uses the CD.  Which may require you to get a boot menu to select the CD player to do the marketing.  There's a key (on a Dell computer it's F12) you need to press when your computer starts to prepare and presents the start menu.  It varies depending on the brand of the PC.  You should see on your start screen briefly as he begins to launch.

Once you have started on this CD, it will offer alternatives to repair the computer.  The one to which you probably need is to restore to an earlier date.  It does no data, only programs.
