Direct connection on the desktop - clients still losing access when the server goes down or rebooted service

I set up the connection to the server with a link Direct is TICKING, I did that once the initial connection has been made for the broker and an assigned desktop computer, connect directly to the desktop and so not care about the State of the connection to the server. After restart or just restart the VMware View Server service all customers lost access until it is facing up.

Is it right, that we use View 3.1.

It's strange that I can restart my server connection without worrying about all the users.   How brokers connection you have and do you have activated all at direct connection?

    Hi all

    I'm doing a View 4 u1 installation with a connection to the server and a security server. I just want to confirm with the setting to view administrator, check box "direct connection on the desktop.

    I find that if I check it, then external clients of internet do not work - can see the office pools, but at launch, the customer will see appear in the taskbar, disappear. When I uncheck, all external clients work very well.

    my understanding is that this check box determines whether RDP traffic will be dug by the connection to the server or it will go straigh from the clients to view offices. I though that this setting affects only internal clients. I don't see how it affects external clients that connect through the Security server.

    When you look at 'netstat' of external clients, trying to run the office, I can see the threshold to appear when the customer view disappears, it will also disappear. Looks like when the box is check (direct connection), the client view external attempts to establish the RDP directly on desktop computers, apparently, it won't work. So, how can a direct connection for internal clients only?

    In our environment, we have our external users (Security Server) use a broker who has direct connect disabled while internal users use a different set of brokers that are defined to use direct connect.

    I have install a single view connection server and office pool and I can connect to the pool very much using the customer view pointing to the login server.

    I recently added a second login server replica and if I try to connect via the customer view succesfully authenticates, allows me to choose a pool, but errors and then with "the connection to the remote computer has ended."

    Look at newspapers in firewall, can I see traffic blocked from my desktop PC (where the client to view runs) to the IP address of the VM on the port office 4172. Of course, I can open this port, but I do not understand why this should be necessary when using the first server likely traffic goes through the connection to the server, not directly to the customer.     You can enable/disable tunneling with a broker for connections setting.  Maybe the second broker (replica) does not make any tunnel and trying instead to go directly through your PC.

  • Horizon View Client 2.2 cannot solve the short hostname to connect to the server

    Not sure if it worked in previous versions, but version 2.2 client view Horizon doesn't seem to be able to resolve the short hostnames to connect to the server.  The FULL domain name or the IP address works fine however.  Here is my config:

    VMware vCenter 5.1. U1 (Build 1064983)

    VMware ESXi 5.1 U1 (Build 1065491)

    VMware View 5.3.0 build-1427931 (1 connection to the server)

    (currently without using composer)

    The servers view and vCenter are virtual machines running on Windows Server 2008 R2 Ent. SP1 64-bit

    My laptop is running Windows 7 Ent. SP1 64-bit (6.1.7601) and I am running View Client 2.2.0 build-1404668.

    DNS seems to work very well on my office and all VMware servers above.  I do a nslookup the hostname of short-sighted connection to the server from the cmd prompt.  The field is defined and in the list of search suffix on each device and the short host name seems to work in all of the other apps on my desktop.  Not facing DNS problems with other applications.  Even the vSphere client accepts a short hostname for the vCenter server.  I know that I can use the FULL domain name or IP address, but I'm just curious to know which prevents the short host name to work in the view client and can it be resolved?

    Yes, the issue was identified internally. View Client used a 3rd party library and it has limitation which results in this problem. Up to now, we are not sure that the fix will be involved in which version. But we follow the problem and get back to you as soon as we have a few farm update.

    I just built a new server ESX 4.0 (update1) and tried to connect directly from the VI Client.

    I'm having a weird problem.

    Here's the situation:

    * I have a server that is running at http://192.168.0.179 . It serves as a file in flash, WebSocketMain.swf (of https://github.com/gimite/web-socket-js), who tries to make a socket connection to 192.168.0.179:5000.

    * I have a socket policy file server clocked at http://192.168.0.179:843 .

    * It works fine on the machine the server is running on (on OS X). Flash connects to the server policy files and on the server on port 5000.

    * However, on a Windows (64-bit) machine on the same network (192.168.0.175), running Flash 10.3/11.2/11.3 (and in the two Chrome/IE9), I get the following in the JS console error:

    * 192.168.0.179:843 is opened from the machine.175. I can connect via a client Terminal Server (e.g. PuTTY) and receive the policy without problem file. However, FP simply does not want to connect.

    * I tried Security.allowDomain("*") and everything. Still nothing.

    * I tried to change the URL to which public Service will connect to (which is served by the web server) to 192.168.0.179:80. Nothing. 192.168.0.179:10000 does not work either. Even 127.0.0.1 and localhost does not work.

    I have more suggestions. This could be the cause? Why won't even try FP to connect to the policy server?

    Found the problem: mms.cfg had an entry saying DisableSockets = 1, which caused the security error.

    Concerning Point 1, Yes if the roads required for networks connected inside the network is done on pix.

    Concerning Point 2, if the IP address that you use within the network is routable (public IP), the command you gave will work. The command indicates that when 10.10.1.10 inside the network host wants to go outside the network, use the same IP address. Because NAT does not occur, the actual address of the server presents itself as the visible address and the address of the host. So if the IP address you specify is not a public IP address, outside world can't access.
