direct mail, can not open
I've used Windows live mail for some time, but today, trying to load a new GMAIL account, I stumbled upon an email address that I don't think I ever created, to GMAIL, but to prove it, I tried to send an email from it. After a while, I tried to open LIVE MAIL and could not get, box appears, TASK, SEND 2 MESSAGES of XXXXGMAIL.
The message never goes away, there is a small blue disk indicating that he works to send these messages, but I guess there is no such address to send from? and he is stuck. I can't get into LIVE MAIL. Help... Don, Canada

Vista, IE8, Windows Mail, can not open attachments
I've been running Vista SP1 with Windows Home Premium and Windows Mail without problems, including handling e-mail attachments. For safety, I: McAfee Total Protection, Windows Firewall, Zone Alarm and Windows Defender.
I installed IE8 and liked the convenience features. It worked well on my machine, but now I can't open e-mail attachments. Security in Windows Mail by IE8 settings are maintained and are defined to allow attachments. I uninstalled IE8 and the problem disappeared. None of my security programs are scoring blocked attachments or otherwise.
Any suggestions on how to fix this so I can go back to IE8?
John C in PA
I just got the phone with McAfee. It seems that IE8 doesn't is NOT supported by McAfee in its current configuration that they still think IE8 beta. I was informed that when the consumer final version McAfee support and my attachments e-mail won't be a problem. Too bad at the moment, I liked IE8.

When Envoy e.mails with doc files I can not open them I use windows vista 64
Hello
You must have the program installed to be able to read the attached files that programs
for example, if it is a .doc file in the attachment, you installed Word
.xls, you need Excel
. PPS, you need Powerpoint
etc.
but fortunately, there are FREE viewers provided by Microsoft for the accessories of extension file above that will save you having to buy Microsoft Office
Here are the download links for free Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint viewers:
Word Viewer
View, print and copy Word documents, even if you don't have Word installed. This download is a replacement for Word Viewer 2003 and all previous Word Viewer versions.
Excel Viewer
Open, view, and print Excel workbooks, even if you don't have Excel installed. This download is a replacement for Excel Viewer 97 and all previous Excel Viewer versions.
PowerPoint 2007 Viewer
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 Viewer allows you to view the presentations of all the features created in PowerPoint 97 and later versions.
and you can try the FREE Open Office applications game to read these file extensions
and here's how to set file associations

PPS Windows Mail does not open
Note that I did a search on it and found the following. The link does not work:
I am using the free PPS Viewer. If I save the file, I have no problem opening. I can not open in Windows Mail. He said that there is no file association and put. I checked and it's done. What is the fix mentioned below?Once you have confirmed that you can open this file outside of Windows Mail, there is a difficulty to be able to open it inside the widows Mail:

Marked as answer by Theresa-Support Engineer on Wednesday 10 December 2008 16:54:18I was able to open the cached page and here it it says (the link does not work for me either):
Symptom
When you open one. PPS file as an attachment in Windows Mail, you can see the Open / Cancel dialog box. When you select open, the following error message may appear:
This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the set Associations control panel.
This can happen even if you have the viewer PowerPoint 2003 or 2007 installed. However, the same file may open correctly when saved to disk and then seen. Note that this problem will not occur if you have Microsoft Office or PowerPoint installed.
This article applies to Windows Vista, with the PowerPoint 2003 Viewer or PowerPoint Viewer 2007 is installed. For a version of Windows XP in this article, see article cannot be opened. PPS directly from Outlook Express attachments?Cause
This occurs if the open command is missing for . PPS and/or . PPT file types.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
For. Files PPS (Microsoft PowerPoint slide show)
- Click Start, type regedit.exe and press ENTER
- Navigate to the following branch:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerPointViewer.slideshow.11\shell\Show
- Click view , and then click Rename
- Type the word Open so that the show is replaced with the Open command
- If you have the PowerPoint 2007 Viewer is installed, repeat the steps above in this key, thus:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerPointViewer.slideshow.12\shell\Show
- After having changed from Show to Open, close the Registry Editor window.
For. PPT (Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation) files
- Click Start, type regedit.exe and press ENTER
- Navigate to the following branch:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerPointViewer.show.11\shell\Show
- Click view , and then click Rename
- Type the word Open so that the show is replaced with the Open command
- If you have the PowerPoint 2007 Viewer is installed, repeat the steps above in this key, thus:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PowerPointViewer.show.12\shell\Show
- After having changed from Show to Open, close the Registry Editor window.

After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?
wlmail.fol is a tiny text giving the name of the folder. The exported messages will have filenames like 00D13E83 - 000025DF.eml. If you don't see all of the files like this, your export probably did not work properly.
For a successful export, follow these directions:
- Set Windows Live Mail to work offline before starting.
- Create a temporary folder on your desktop * to contain the exported messages.
- In the Export Wizard, select the temporary folder, and then select all the folders.* *
- When it is complete, check that the number of files in each folder to the temporary folder is one more than the number of messages in the corresponding folder of WLMail.
- Copy the temporary file to its final destination.
If you use a reader not NTFS to do this, you will see a warning that certain file properties will not be copied files. This can be ignored.
* Windows Live Mail do not work with files that are not on a local drive, as opposed to an external or network drive. This is avoided by using the office as a temporary folder location.
* If you want to export the files sampled only, select each of them containing messages. Subfolders are not automatically selected by default. -

I was read and send e-mails from my netbook and desktop computer without problem. This week, on my netbook, I can only Hotmail and see the Inbox. I can not open the mail, nor can I open one of the other sections or even get to page 2 of the Inbox. There is no problem with the desktop computer. Is there something I may be changed by chance on the netbook that prevents me from using Hotmail? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Windows Live Mail does not open. Contacted the help people who told me to uninstall Windows Live and start over, but my computer won't uninstall it? Back to the use of Windows Mail, but now some of my emails are not received by some of their recipients even if they seem to send and there is no error message. It is not a server problem, as everything goes through, if I send directly from their site. Help please.

Windows Mail does not open Inbox, all other files are missing.
When I open Windows mail, all records except local and Inbox are missing.
The rest of the screen is empty except for a message:
County of folder may not be displayed
Windows Mail could not open this folder.
Possible Casuses are:
low disk space
not enough memory
After turning off my computer, defraggin computer to free up space to oup, I still got the same message.
I went on my ipad and access the windows messaging it. I had three new messages that I could access. I raise 9 unsent messages in your Outbox (they never appear on my desktop version). I cleaned up the.
restarted my computer desk - still no change.
I use Windows Vista
I tried to download the package of Windows 941090 update but it said I had a bad version. I double checked, I had the correct 32-bit version.
So what can I try now?
Thank you very much
I did export and then used the other program you suggested to compact the database, and finally I could work on my mail. I could even delete nearly 1000 emails in the deleted files folder. Before it would just give me an error message.

Window Live Mail does not open the wmv files.
Window Live Mail does not open the wmv files. It comes up with an error that says: (wrong parameters). Also gives the path that looks all wrong. How can I change these settings?
If I save the wmv on my desktop it will open, so I think that the file association is OK.
1. download and save the attachment to the office.
2. right click on the saved file.
3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
4. click on: choose [default] program.
5. Select: Windows Media Player.
6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
7. click on OK. -
My Windows Mail does not open. It gives me a message saying, ' Windows Mail could not be started because MSOE. " DLL could not be loaded. "How can I fix in order to regain access to my e-mail address?
The only other thing I can suggest is to back up and then delete the following registry keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail
I start with the first and then see if it works. If this isn't the case, then delete them both.
