DirectDraw is unavaible

DirectDraw acceleration is not enabled. Or AGP Texture acceleration. Ive tried to download the 9 and 10 but nothing I have done changes. Im trying to play Jade Dynasty online. It technical support told me that in the directdraw is not active, how to market, or get an older version of DirectDraw as works.note (it allows to work with my pc but I had a virus and had to reset to the factory) if that helps.

I was also on this site

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/191660

so, the problem is that I don't have legs that they're talking about in both methods! Windows vista home Premium is the system that I like I said before,.

I had the above problem with AOEII:Age of the Kings. My brief spec is Windows 7 Ultimate edition (SP1) and a card nVidia 8600 GT. I did the following (make sure you reboot after each installation):

Make sure that you are running the latest patch of AOEII:AOK (2. 0 a):

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=35

Download and install the latest version of DirectX:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=5264

Download and install the latest nVidia Driver suite. I left the autodetect my card software and reset all my default settings. I also installed the full software suite:

    http://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Finally, right click on the shortcut of AOE and click Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab and select the following:

-Run this program in compatibility mode - choose Windows XP Service Pack 2 (!) NOT 3!)
    -Disable visual themes
-Disable the Composition of the Bureau
-Run this program as an administrator

One of the above options maybe work on its own, but that's what I had to do to make it work and I tested it after each step.

    Good luck!

  • When I click on the view tab in dxdiag, it shows that DirectDraw is disabled,

    original title: DirectX problems

I'm running a 64-bit version of windows 7, but seem to have problems when I try to play old games. I keep getting errors in DirectDraw that I tracked down caused by the 32-bit version of DirectX I have. When I click on the view tab in dxdiag, it shows that is disabled DirectDraw, Direct3d is partially active and AGP acceleration is not available at all. The confusing thing about it is when I do a test of 64-bit, everythign works fine. I searched everywhere an answer to this problem as it is irritates me a lot that I can play is no longer a number of games that I own. I have already tried:

-installation and updating graphics drivers (no change)

-re installation of DirectX (no change)

-running a 32-bit version of 7 (graphics card is 64-bit, will not allow 32-bit drivers)

Someone please please help me with this!

Solved the problem. Did a reinstall of windows and everything is fine now. Cheers for the help you gave in all cases.

    Hi gkfuller,

Have you followed the steps that I recommended above? If this isn't the case, please do and check the result.

Step 1: Remove the game completely:

If the above steps do not work, uninstall and reinstall the game should solve this problem.

How to change or remove a program in Windows XP

After you have uninstalled the game, check that all the game files have been removed from your computer. The remaining game files will be in one of the following locations (depending on the title of the game and your operating system):

    C:\Nancy drew
    C:\Program Files\Nancy Drew
For XP: Folder 'My Documents' (C:\Documents and Settings\nom_utilisateur\Mes Documents)

For more details, see: Impossible to uninstall using Add/Remove Programs

    Step 2: Reinstall the game

To install the game manually, see the steps in the article below.

  • Lag problem on Age of Empires II (NO multiplayer) and issue of DirectDraw

Age of Empires II used to work like a charm for me, he played almost perfect. But after a while, there are a few frustrations that made me do stupid things. I had to run the Setup program and press on play from there, because if I just clicked the shortcut on my desktop, it looks like

"Can't initialize graphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw. »

It was really annoying, so one day after having searched extensively on internet, somehow, I thought it was clever to uninstall my graphics Accelerator. (I don't know if it's the source of the problem, I was wondering.)

After I did it, my games started playing VERY SLOWLY and I was not able to play in multiplayer mode at all because of the silent direct draw problem. (It worked fine before..)

So, I have 2 problems. GAL and the DirectDraw.

I can help with this please? Thank you!

    Hi catire,.

    What is your operating system?

The answer to your two problems might disappear after you update your graphics card.

For me, it looks like a graphics card problem.

My suggestion would be toUpdateyour graphics driver.

    Update drivers: recommended links

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-drivers-recommended-links

You can also check the following links where the problem may not be the same, but you can follow the steps in these links.

As a test, you can temporarily disable all security software, and then try to play the game and check if the game is running slowly.

Note: allow all security software after the trial.

  • TV display directdraw problems with old games

I run a Windows 7 with GForce 8600 on a TV screen and I receive a directdraw cannot initialize the problem. I tried using the suggestions of the other threads but when I click on display properties, settings, advanced, troubleshoot, it won't let me click on change settings. I tried other solutions, but it still does not work.

    Hello

    ·        When exactly do you get the error message (while installing or playing)?

    ·        This all the steps that you have already tried?

    ·        What games you try to play?

    ·        Have you updated the drivers from the manufacturer nVidia?

If the games you try to play are old games try their installation in compatibility mode and check if it works very well. Follow the link given below to run Setup in compatibility mode.

Make older programs in this version of Windows

When I go to dxdiag trouble shooter staes directdraw acceleration is not available and direct3d acceleration is not available. This computer plays of the games without problem before I moved it. Now, it won't.

When I go to dxdiag trouble shooter staes directdraw acceleration is not available and direct3d acceleration is not available. This computer plays of the games without problem before I moved it. Now, it won't.

I could solve the problem by going to the manufacturing of system site and download the updates I needed. Once I installed all the updates for my video driver, the games worked well.

I can't have my directx or directdraw to work its saying its unavilable what can I do?

    Hello

This could very well be in this case. Please tell us the brand and model of your computer.
What you want to do is to visit the support site for the one who makes your computer (Dell, HP, Sony, etc.) and download the drivers for your video card updated.
Because looks like it's only a question when you play, I'll move this thread on the forums of game here on the responses. However, I believe that the solution to the problem will be to update the drivers.
I hope this helps. Just reply to the results.
