Disable ringtones?

My iPad has suddenly started playing a ringtone when my phone rings. There is no option to do nothing the way there are alerts. How can I turn off the ringer? Thank you!

My guess is that your iPhone / iPad are both connected to the same WiFi network when this happens, and you have "Calls on other devices" lit on the phone (under settings-> phone). Disable calls on other devices on the phone functionality, and you should be all set.

  • VOLUME of RINGTONE CONTROLLER can be disabled?

Anyone know if the ringing volume controller can be disabled? And there at - it app for the volume of the ringer instead?

I find the volume control is far too easy to be touched and to change the volume by mistake, not knowing that you did. In my case, I keep the volume to vibrate, so a success of the slightest mistake can put on silent. The rocker is much too sensitive. He should have taken more pressure for change - like all the other phones I have ever owned. I would like to disable the ringer volume control and be able to control it on the touch screen (where you have ever accidentally hit) and just forget about it. In this way it will be him vibrate to always unless I run the application to change it, and if I hit the rocker, nothing will happen.

Given how soft is this phone, I'm sure it's possible.

Jeffs4653 wrote:I'm not looking to silence it. I'm looking to make sure it stays where I set it (in this case "vibrate") and ignore the rocker inputs that get sent simply by handling the device.

Try to look 'Silent Time', 'Silent Mode Jammer","Vibrate Mode by Force"... They all have a vibration option.

If you searched for 'volume', you will find 'Ringtone Volume Control', which appears to allow you to establish and maintain the volume of the ringer at any setting you want and also has a vibration option.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones said Nextel ringtone is disabled on 8350i when Bluetooth is turned on... Is there a fix for it?

Does anyone know if there is a fix or software update for this problem? The ringing of the phone is turned off whenever my bluetooth headset is activated. The phone will not ring, I only get the beep in the bluetooth. I drive a truck for a living, and miss me a lot of calls, because I can just hear the bluetooth beep on the sound of the truck.

Technicians from Nextel to my local maintenance and repair center told me that it is a permanent framework with all phones Blackberry Curve and it cannot be changed. They did a software upgrade that solved my another problem of the speed dial works do not with bluetooth, but they say there is no solution at the moment to get the ringtone to work with bluetooth turned on.

Someone at - it suggestions? It's frustrating kind of spending all that money on the phone and do not have a working key feature. I really need to be able to hear the phone ring when I'm in the big truck.

    Thank you all...

    Hello Jimmy10 66,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community Support from Apple. I know how it is important to follow your alerts, and I want to help you get your work again.

Before we get too far, it's always a good idea to check that your 'secret' button just above your volume controls is not engaged. If you see that the yellow indicator go ahead and switch to the other position to turn it off.

Alternatively, you can drag up from the bottom of the screen and make sure that the control of "do not disturb" is disabled.

If those who are for the time off, go ahead and restart your phone and retest alerts. If the behaviour continues or if you encounter any problems, please reach out again and let the community know what other steps you have tried. The entire community is here to help.

    Best regards

  • Terminal to disable startup chime

I want to stop the startup chime and the normal terminal script, (sudo nvram SystemAudioVolume = 80%) "does not work because of a password problem.

After you enter the script Terminal asks for my password. I provide the password and terminal says "command not found". Naturally, I assume that the password is incorrect, but it is the same password that opens the permissions and is used for the administrator account ID.

In fact, I created a new master password for the computer through Permission > File Vault. (File Vault is turned off). However, Terminal always reports "command not found". !

  • When my phone rings it's a buzz instead of a real ringtone

Instead of a normal ringtone in the list, my phone started today with a strange ringing ringing noise.  Any ringtone I select, I get the same.  It's almost like the tone of urgency for a yellow alert, which is disabled on my phone.  Any suggestions?

Have you paid for the option of the ring when you bought the phone?

    A C & P is appropriate here...

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are a few standard repair procedures:

First of all, try a system reset.  He heals many ailments and it's fast, easy and safe...

Hold down the power button and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You won't lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

If the Reset does not work, try a restore.  Note that it is nowhere near as fast as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via a cable to the computer that you use for synchronization.  In iTunes, select the iPod/iPhone/iPad, and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen instructions for restoration and don't forget to say 'yes' to the backup and go back to iTunes on the computer (NOT iCloud) because it is more comprehensive.  You will be notified that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be deleted, but that the restoration is complete, you will be asked if you want the backup content to be copied to the iPod/iPhone/iPad.  Even once, say 'yes'.

At the end of the basic restore, you will be asked if you want to synchronize the iPad/iPod/iPhone.  As before, say 'yes'.  Note that syncs selection will disappear and the restoration will terminate if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If this happens, only applications that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective is simple – bottom right of iTunes, choose manual 'Sync '.

If you are unable to do the restore (or it does not help), go into Recovery Mode according to the instructions here.  You will lose all your data (game scores, etc.,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being recharged.  In addition, read this.

  • Cannot turn off the vibration on the ringtone and Notifications

    Hello!

I have search on all the menus that has XT1542 and I found no article that I can change something to completely disable the vibrations of the smartphone.

Why do I need it? Because:

A-I have the phone to view and I want a low buzzing sound rather a table vibrant and made big noise on a silent office.

B when I leave the phone, I'd rather listen to ringtone rather trying to hear the hum in clothes. It is almost impossible to detect if the softer clothes have my phone.

Completely disable the notifications and ringtones is not an option. I want to hear notifications but not 'feel' them.

    Thanks for any response.

It's there, it's just hard to find. Settings-> account settings (press the name)-> notifications - his choice and toggle the vibrate

  • Why my text ringtone doesn't ring when I get a text

I just upgraded my iPhone iPhone 4S 6. Before upgrading my 4S would only ring occasionally when I receive texts.  I put it in crickets for my text.  When I upgraded, I put my phone to a ringtone for texts as well but it only vibrates.  I disabled the vibrations but it still vibrates only when I get a text.  Does anyone know how to fix this please?

I'm guessing you went in settings > sounds > your text and it changed it there. What happens if you go to settings > Notifications > Messages?

  • Ringtones no longer work after ICS

My Razr had made ICS this morning. Now, I have no ringtone. Yes the silent mode is disabled and the volume all the way up. If I go to 'system setting', 'sound' and try to change the ' phone ' or "default notification", the GET, the message "system Android activity does not. I was able to turn on "Vibrate and ring", so at least I'm vibation, but no ring. Difficulty?

How about a ringtone you made yourself, or downloaded from the Internet. I wonder if there is something wrong with the default ringtones or those who are on your system that went through the upgrade process.

If you use a file management application can you try to play one of the ring tones that do not work? Let us make sure that they are actually playing. I hope this helps.

  • How to disable the vibration

    Hi all

I want to ask questions about how to disable the vibration. I manually disable in Whatsapp and Message but still - it vibrates.

someone knows how to fix this?

Do not disturb the name for mode I was talking about, is not silent. Sorry for the confusion.

Do not disturb mode, that the phone does not vibrate or play any sound when you receive notifications until the output don't bother, unless you add some exceptions. You can learn more on this subject on our Web site: http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiaz5/userguide/Sound-ringtone-and-volume/

So in short, if you don't want any noise or vibration for notifications, you can put your phone do not disturb mode. If you want to disable it for only certain applications, you will need to look for a setting in the application itself. If this setting is not working properly you can try to reinstall the application in question and if it doesn't help you should reach to the developer of the application. If you can't find a support section in the application itself, you should be able to find some contact information on the page of the app owner in the game of Google.
