Disable scrolling on the Touchpad

Hi... anyone know how to get rid or disable the pointer appearing after moving via the touchpad suddenly a box small just above the pointer tht looks like the scroll bar installation but it's boring as he moves to the quick screen upward or downward or through, and its now so boring I wish to disable but do not know how too

Thank you very much

Hello
You can adjust this to your mouse control panel.  Here's how:
1 type the word mouse in your Start menu, then choose mouse option that appears.
2. According to your brand of computer, you'll see a Touchpad tab or button to adjust the touchpad settings.  If you do not immediately see it, check the Hardware tab, at the top, which usually have a settings... button to access the options of the touchpad.
3 - once there, you can adjust or turn off the "Scroll Zones" or "simple gestures of the fingers.  These names may be different depending on who built your computer, but it will be probably pretty close to this.

  • How to disable scrolling on the touchpad on a series Satellite?

How to disable scrolling on the right side of the mouse?
It drives me crazy. Just want the cursor but cannot see anything in the control panel.

This option you can find in the advanced options of the mouse.
Control Panel > mouse properties > device settings and if you have Synaptics driver click on settings. You will find the option of virtual scrolling.

Just remove the check mark in front of the horizontal and vertical scrolling options, and it will be OFF.

  • Satellite R850 - scrolling on the touchpad stopped working

I have the Satellite R850 2R laptop with win7 on it.

Try to check if Windows update has installed something today and roll back the OS to an earlier time (if possible to return in two days) using System Restore tool.

I put t know if this will help but you can try it. Several times I saw this update of the synaptics driver is offered by the windows updates option.

  • Satellite L750 - how scrolling with the touchpad?

I have a Satellite L750 (my first laptop and first touchpad) running Windows 7. I put the mouse scrolling to 1 line at a time, but every time I place the pointer on the right scroll bar arrow down (and press the left button or press on) the screen pops so that the scroll bar is at the bottom. I want the screen to "inch" down slowly as if I was using a mouse wheel.

Yes, I know that the answer is probably very simple, so those people who are itching to answer don't forget I'm a 'newbie' to touchpad.

    Concerning

    Hey,.

You can scroll with the touchpad on the right side of it. Just move your finger upward or down on the right side of the touchpad and you can scroll with this gesture. It of not complicated and very easy.
In addition, these basic operations are described in the user manual and I recommend reading. ;)

If you are not familiar with the touch pad, you can also connect an external USB mouse (mouse even as on a desktop computer). These external mice are cheap and you don't need a driver for it. Just connect it to a USB port and it of ready to use :)

  • M45 S351 problems with scrolling using the touchpad

I have some problems with scrolling with the touchpad. In some applications, like Mozilla Thunderbird, the touchpad scrolling does not at all! If I contact the right side of the touchpad by finger in Thunderbird, I see the label of Scroll on the screen, but no scrolling occurs. What is the problem? In Opera, I need to click on the browser page to 'activate' the touchpad scrolling and it also irritates cause in IE I do not have such problems: I have lunch just Explorer and scrolling of the works from the beginning... How to solve this problem?

[Edited by: admin on August 29, 2006 06:52]

Fix for that is unknown to me, but it turns out that the unit has been tested only with Microsoft products (Designed for Microsoft WXP label applied on the device) and not with other third-party software of the part. This function is not only an example. There are many of them. Please don t see this as a problem.

On this path, I will not say that you MUST use just preinstalled stuff but there are many things that you have to live with.

Perhaps someone else knows more about it.

    Good bye

  • How can I activate the scrolling on the touchpad mouse

I'm trying to figure out how to do the scroll to work on my laptop touch pad mouse? I used to b able to click on the button and drag the page up and down. where the parameters to activate it bak?

    Hi CStockwell13,

    A. who is the manufacturer of the laptop?

    (B) since when is - not working?

You may need to check the manufacturer's Web site and download the touchpad drivers and install it on your laptop.

Once installation is complete, you will need to restart your laptop and configure the touchpad and its functions of scrolling on the touchpad console located in the Manager of tasks.

Restart the computer and configure the touchpad and function of scrollbars by checking on the console of the touchpad.

    I hope this helps.

Here's my problem - in my laptop there disables scroll function on my touchpad. I mean when I try to scroll to help, whether it's on the side of right edge.

    Hello

Have you tested an external mouse on the laptop?

In your case, I will try to update the driver for the touchpad. You can find it on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Remove the old driver, restart the computer and then install the new driver.

    Welcome them

  • Functionality of scrolling on the touchpad does not work... help!

I have an Inspiron 1525, just the other day that the functionality of the touchpad scroll has stopped working.  I tried to look in the control panel to find an option to turn "scroll" back on, I found nothing.  I am running Windows Vista. Any suggestions on how to turn "scroll" back on?

    Hello

Try the system restore before you did it again at:

How to make a Vista system restore
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-System-Restore-how.html
    -------------------------------------------------------

    If necessary:

Control Panel - mouse - look for the TouchPad settings - mine is on the settings of the device and your own tab
may be different (it is NOT the Scrollings tab which is for the mouse). On some, you can activate
and disable scrolling and/or define the size of the area and the sensitivity of the touchpad.

Some will have a TouchPad progam/control icon in the Notification area near the clock - low
    right.

Check with the manufacturer of system support, documentation in line, or forums as there probably
are shortcut keys that enable and disable the touchpad functions.

    ==========================================

If necessary: (make sure that you have restarted at least once, if the above did not work)

Panel of configuration manager devices - mouse and pointing devices - Double click on the touchpad - the driver tab-
Click on update driver (it comes may not do anything like MS is far behind the drivers of certification), now right CLICK
    on the TouchPad and UNINSTALL.

Then go to the USB and UNINSTALL ALL controllers except the category itself (all in). RESET

This will refresh the driver for the TouchPad and battery USB.

Here is the similar procedure under XP, Vista is the same, except that we need to clear the specific device if present.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310575

Then go to the system manufacturer's website and get the latest touchpad drivers.

Download - SAVE - go to where you put it-click on - RUN AS ADMIN.

  • Problems with the sound function and scrolling on the touchpad on my Satellite A500/026

    Hello

I just brought a new laptop A500/026 and when I play music from my ipod I get a little static pop sound at regular intervals during the song... this happens on all my music. I accidentally scroll horizontally through my touhpad and my screen minimizes or maximizes. I try to find how I did it, but can never seem to return to its normal state. There is obviously some sort of function here, can someone help me with it? I installed the x 64 bit version of windows 7.

    Thank you

    Eddie

    Hello

The touchpad settings are placed in Control Panel-> mouse
You can find the additional tab which would be you can access touchpad properties.

As I know the touchpad properties contains many different options that allows you to configure the scrolling function, to activate and assign different actions to the touchpad corners, etc.

    Check it!

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300D - relocation after Vista, I can not scrolling on the touchpad

I could scroll with my touchpad moving my finger from right above on the right down on the touch pad, on the first installation of Vista on my A300D-161
Now, I reinstalled Vista and I installed the utility, but it is not an option for scrolling.

    How / what now?

    Thank you

    Hello

Do you have what utility installed?

You must install the driver for the touchpad on the Toshiba site. After that, go to control panel > mouse > Device Settings > settings. Here, you can enable virtual scrolling.

    Good bye

  • Cannot use the scrolling on the touchpad

    Hi guys

I made a mistake and uninstalled the original driver for the mouse pad, stupidly. In any case, I could find drivers to make it work again. But I have a minor problem which I hope someone can help me solve.

I can not get the scrolling ability to work when you use the edges of the mouse pad to scroll to the bottom or left and right. Is there something im missing that can get this working or is it a lost cause.

    Thank you

    Hello

Can you also tell us which laptop computer and operating system you have? It would be useful to write useful advice how to solve your problem.

Normally you can toggle the virtual scrolling feature in the mouse settings. So go in Control Panel > mouse. Check the properties there and then you can enable/disable this feature.
