Disable send and answer animations in Mail.app?

If somebody has got one of these parameters to work in el Capitan?

: write com.apple.mail DisableReplyAnimations - bool true

: write com.apple.mail DisableSendAnimations - bool true

Yes, they don't seem to work.  If they did not work before I suggest upgrade you to the latest version (I'm on 10.11.2) as who may have solved the problem.

I find the annoying animations, too, especially because I much configuration AppleScripts to run actions in Mail and prefer NET and immediate action instead of toys like animations.

Window animations in Mail.app could by funny, but when using Mail.app for work that kind of kittenish thing is annoying and time consuming. It was possible to inactivate these animations in earlier versions of the Mac OS - X (see, for example, https://software.com/mac/tweaks/disable-send-and-reply-animations ), but it seems that this tweak does not work with El Capitan.

Is it possible to inactivate the Send and Reply animations in Mail.app version 9.3?

You use Windows Mail? Create a folder on the desktop. Open the folder in WinMail and highlight all the message headers (Ctrl + A), and then drag them to the folder on the desktop. This ZIP file and attach it to an e-mail.

Take note of the size of the zipped folder.

  • Disable spell checking in Win 8 Mail app?

    Hello world

I am new to Windows 8; Sorry if this has been asked and answered repeatedly. In searching the Web, it seems that you can't disable the spell of Auditor and auto in Windows 8 Mail app - is this true? Are there at least the language packs so that you can choose what language is corrected? Windows 8 has a global setting to turn on or to turn off spell, but it seems not to apply to the messaging application.

I write e-mails in three languages: Finnish, Swedish and English. I installed Windows 8 in Swedish; so write letters in Swedish is not a problem, as my Finnish and English texts are littered with the annoying red underlines. Is it really possible that the haven´t of developers Microsoft thought of that? They think that people are bound to a single language? There must surely be a coming update to fix this annoying defect? Or is there already?

Please tell me. As it is now, the Mail to Win 8 app, which, otherwise, is quite pretty, useless for me. And if I give him for good - well, then I might as well abandon the brand new concept of winning 8 and go to the design of familiar office with one of the apps free out there making it possible.

    Kind regards
    Bright Waldemar

You must add the other languages in the control panel. Then all you have to do is press windows + space bar to change the languages and the spell checker will change the language you have selected. Pretty easy.

Hello world.  I hope one of you can help me I am at my wit's end. :(  For these last days, Windows Mail does not work - I can't send or receive messages.  When I click send/receive, you receive the following error message:

Hi Steve... We have McAfee Security and we have always had. It was only last week we had problems with Windows mail... :( Should update us do you think? BTW, the server is ok that I am able to retrieve messages on the site from servers...

    ----------------

The SMTP server and the Web site are not the same.

This problem could have been caused by a recent update from McAfee?
Try disabling electronic e-mail scanning in McAfee following the instructions here.

Mail scanning is unnecessary and purely aesthetic.

  • Cannot send mail from Windows 8 Mail app

Installed Win8 pro (upgrade to win7 x 64) a few days before and set up the Mail app to work with all my email accounts. I have several: a gmail, an outlook.com and three or four regular POP3/IMAP on mine, hosted domains. The problem is I can't send e-mails from any IMAP accounts or the account of outlook.com. I receive emails OK but sending does not work - they end just the Outbox and then nothing happens.

This doesn't seem to be a problem of parameters - I use the same settings as in my Outlook 2010 client and I chatted with hosting support (they confirmed my settings, each of them). However, I noticed that when manually "sync" I got error messages saying temporary get accounts are 'not available' (top right). This is true for my POP3/IMAP accounts as well as the outlook.com account. May be a temporary problem, however, since I have no problem receiving e-mails.
I used a downloadable apps Win8 mechanic I found here at Microsoft Answers, but he found nothing. And nobody else seems to have this problem (neither here, nor on other forums). What could be wrong?
Any suggestions on how to deal with this issue would be greatly appreciated. I was hoping to invest in a Windows Phone 8 later, but I would like to first of all of course e-mail work.

Please wait for the update to be available in different markets. The 16.4.4406.1205 version is the most recent with the fix.

    Added October 17, 2013

8.1 Windows upgrade, Mail App will support invalid server certificates (not match error with CN, untrusted root and expiry of the certificate). This means that the user can temporarily reject the certificate error when connecting to the IMAP/EAS server using the SSL connection. The setting is available jet account-> Settings.

  • Mail.app keyboard shortcut conflict

    Hello

I use things to manage tasks on my iMac (OS X El Capitan, up-to-date).

Things has a quick entry hotkey-based function to add tasks with AutoFill from anywhere on the Mac.

For example, mail.app you can press ⌘⌥⎵ to create a new task with a link to e-mail, you're on.

The problem: from mail.app, pressing ⌘⌥⎵ opens the new autofilled task windows and the activity of Mail.app window, even if the shortcut for activity is ⌘⌥0.

I tried to change the shortcut in things, but the problem is still there, regardless of the shortcut.

I went into Preferences > keyboard > shortcut and there is no declared conflicts.

So I tried to add manually (overwrite) the ⌘⌥0 shortcut for the activity window in Mail.app - no way.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you.

    Alessandro.

    Check this: https://twitter.com/davidgouch/status/743880170428301312

Essentially, only assign a new shortcut key for activity in Mail.app, restarting Mail.app, and you should be good to go.

  • Send and receive mail in Windows 8

Real simple question that I hope, but I was used to send and receive on Outlook and even able to find the settings so mail could be searched every minute but on Windows Mail, it is not so obvious, I think I have my mail configured to receive any time but it only downloads new messages when the application is opened after start so I have to restart my computer for new mail that is not ideal.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

    1. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
    2. Other applications to update properly?
    3. Do you use a proxy connection to connect to the internet?

The question could arise due to incorrect e-mail account settings, updates pending or due to a problem with the application Mail or Windows Store. To diagnose and solve the problem, I suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

    Step 1: Install pending updates.

Check if there are pending updates to install.

    1. In the start screen, tap or click on Store to open the Windows store.

    2. Enter in the right edge of the screen, and then tap settings.
(If you use a mouse, point to the lower right of the screen, move the mouse to the top and then click settings.)

    3. Tap or click App updates.

    4. Press or click on Sync licensing

Step 3 : Delete the email account and to reconfigure the e-mail account in the app Mail see the following link to do.

If the problem persists, try the following method.

    Method 2:

Download and run the convenience store of the App to the modern user interface. Also, try the additional steps described in the following link if the problem persists.

    Solve problems with a soft

    Method 3:

If you are using a connection through proxy, then try to disable the proxy and then check if the problem persists.

Follow the steps to disable the proxy:

    1. Open Internet Explorer
    2. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options
    3. Click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings
    4. Uncheck the Server Proxy use.
    5. Click on apply then Ok to save the changes.

  • Cannot send/receive mail in the Windows Mail app on my laptop only

I can't send or receive emails in Windows 8 on my laptop as he repeats to me in the upper right: "'* address email is removed from the privacy * is not available" (where xxx is my name). " I also have the Hotmail app on my iPhone and Android phone and they both signed and receive mail fine. I can even use my SkyDrive app very well on my laptop. Only the mail is affected.

I rebooted to see if something had to be refreshed, but it made no difference. Anyone has an idea why this error and the inability to send/receive mail my mail?

    Hello

Thank you very much for answering. I managed to settle the question, not that I know what it is. This is the only laptop among the many features that I sync with mail Outlook.com. I ended up going in the settings of the Mail application, off 'Synch Mail' and then I went back in the settings and turned on Synch Mail.

Email stuck in my Outbox sent immediately and new messages have arrived. FIX :-)

Some people do not like the Windows Mail application (it may not meet their most demanding needs), but I like it. I rarely use my MS Outlook more as it seems very small and crowded, by comparison. I love getting the full screen on my laptop to see what I just want to see, without toolbars and taskbars fly screen real estate.

Sorry for the rant and thanks again for the reply.

    Best regards
    Brian.

I have a question regarding windows mail. I was send and receive mail with no problems until last Thursday. I can still receive mail, but I can not send. My email is with bellsouth.net and comes in my computer through windows Messaging.  I spent an hour and a half on the phone with bellsouth, and they say that the problem is with my windows mail.  I tried to use a restore date, and that did not help either. I will post a copy of this message, as I keep getting.  Your server suddenly put an end to the connection. The possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Object 't', counts: 'mail.bellsouth.net', server: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, error number: 0x800CCC0F thanks for any help.

Sometimes, WinMail settings get screwed up and you must remove the account and then add it back back.  Make sure first that the antivirus software not interfere (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).   Delete your account completely, then close WinMail.  Then compact and repair the database of WinMail (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Add your account to mail back once again, and then make sure you have the correct settings under Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Servers and | Advanced to what AT & T Specifies to WinMail (or OE).  Then see if it works.
