Disable the HP drive to start encryption

Hello

Just got a 600 ProDesk with Windows 7 pro and installed the drive encryption.

What say o install-promt, was the drive of pre-boot encryption and im now stuck with it.

The computer is a shared unit with multiple user connections.

How can I disable the pre-boot encryption?

What I tried:
Restore windows

Reset CMOS
Disable various things in the BIOS
Google search for several hours

I solved the problem!

You must let encrypt your drive (took 2 days) and then let it decrypt subsequently (also 2 days)

Subsequently there is no encryption of disk at startup!

    Hello

I use VMware Workstation 10, and I found a bug:

With the all-new virtual machine (for example with Windows 8 x 64), if I choose a hard SATA and SATA DVD drive in VMware and I have to disable the floppy drive in the VMware BIOS, Windows 8 (or Windows 7) ISO does not start.

If I come back in the BIOS to enable the floppy drive once again, my ISO boot.

If I use the DVD IDE drive in VMware options, no problem if I disable the floppy drive.

    With "EFI mode", no bugs.

  • disable the automatic driver install windows 7 Home premium

I have a problem installing my dell AIO 922 printer. It is said that I should avoid windows install the drivers.

Like the windows version family premium is not a policy editor group that I need to know what to change in the registry to prevent the installation of the drivers when I connect my USB printer so I can let the driver installation program with dell windows do its work.

Anyone know how to disable the automatic installation of the driver without the Group Policy Editor?

    Thank you

    Hello, Willem.

Make a test with the steps below:

-Click Start (lower left corner of the desktop)
-Right click on "computer" and select Properties.
-On the left side, just below the tasks, select "Device Manager".
-Locate your device, right click and select Properties.
-Select the tab 'pilot' and click on uninstall.
-Click ok and restart the computer.

If this isn't the case, the only workaround for this problem is to install the latest driver on the manufacturer's Web site to overwrite the current driver.

  • Divide drive merger and disable the failed drive

So I have an iMac end 2012 27 "with a 1 TB fusion drive. Naturally the disk rotation has not now and the mac won't boot off the fusion drive. Running on my external drive USB 3.0 for now.

I think ultimately for reliability I won't replace the drive spins and I'll go with an external thunderbolt SSD raid. But, how can I do to do a few things...

1 - divide the merger in 2 discs disc so that I can format it and actually use the SSD which is always very good.

2 - completely disable the spinning player who doesn't have to leave BONE trying to rotate upward and detects it and always tells me that he has not etc.

Naturally, I try not to open the computer and disconnect the player. Yes, I have the skills to do that, I don't just want. So why I'll spend more of $ and get the raid external thunderbolt.

  • Satellite 5100 503: change the HARD drive and start questions

My hard drive in my Satellite 5100 broke down and I want to change it.

According to various posts in the forum, it is not possible to start the 5100 from a CD when there is a (new) hard drive in the machine. And the only way to change the boot sequence is via Windows - what does more - there is no other way to change the settings of the BIOS within Windows.

I looked in the manual - I find no mention after pressing F12 C or any other combination to change the boot sequence (of course I tried yet without result). The only thing I found possible is to press ESC + F1 for BIOS settings default _restore_. And turning the power on by pressing on the left of the space bar gives me the opportunity to Flash a new BIOS.

Is this really so? Because that would mean I'm stuck. And in this case I will just save the money for the new hard drive and throw my laptop... (and probably by another brand next time - but I sincerely hope that is not so much...)

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards
    Thomas

    Nice. ;)
To my knowledge, it was always possible to boot from the CD. Also, after replacing the HARD drive

  • DV7-6143eo cannot disable the keyboard driver

    Hello

A time, that I had a problem with some keys on my keyboard, repeating endlessly as if the button was pressed, even if the current button does not seem to be stuck. He would usually stop repeating after pressing the key. I had a similar experience with another laptop and it ended up repeating constantly the key even after pressing the key.

Until I'm in a similar situation with this laptop, I decided to get a usb keyboard. It worked for several months, but suddenly the issue with a key constantly repeat even after the key on the keyboard of the notebook appeared.

As a temporary solution, I turned off the key 'w '. Try to delete the driver for the laptop keyboard simply result in it to be reinstalled on reboot. It seems that my only option is to disassemble the laptop and remove it or the deactivation of the pilot.

I have no experience with the dismantling of a laptop and would like to avoid this. If I go into Device Manager, a disable option does not display the drop down menu to the pilot and in the properties of the option is grayed out.

The laptop is a dv7 6143eo and use windows 7 64-bit. The name of the driver is "Standard PS/2-keyboard" (keyboard = keyboard).

Sorry for the double posting, but I felt it deserved its own post.

I managed to finally find a solution. If it is not as elegant as I had hoped, it seems to work.

    1. open Devicemanager.

    2. right click on the keyboard driver for laptop computer-> select "Update Driversoftware".

    3. Select "browse the computor for driversoftware.

    4. choose "Let Me pick from a list of devices on the computor.

    5. click on "view the material compatibel.

6 find a driver that is not compatible with your laptop, I personally went with 'Toshiba - Toshiba USB 109-keyboard Japanase'. Click Next.

    7. click 'OK' in implementing cautioned, we want something that is not compatible after all.

    8. it should tell you that the driver has been installed and ask if you want to restart.

After restarting your laptop keyboard should work now not at all, including the boring repeated key.

With my limited knowledge, I can't guarantee that this will not be some issues (can't think of everything well), so do it at your own risk.

I hope this will help others and post here will make it easier for others to find the 'solution' timetable, that I had to spend.

  • the touchpad driver Synaptic starts do not at startup

no error message, the driver of the synaptic touchpad that allows scrolling and zoom does not start when I turn on the computer.
Recently, one of my friends turned a few drivers/software, saying he'll make my laptop run a little faster...
scrolling doesn't work anymore so I returned all the settings to the way that it used to be (by default), but scrolling does not work when I start my laptop. I still have go to the control panel to open the pilot of the synaptic touchpad for scrolling to work.

    Hello

First, download the latest installer driver Synaptics, on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp55001-55500/sp55107.exe

Then, open windows control panel, open programs and features, right click on the entry "Synaptics Pointing Device Driver" and choose uninstall.

    Once done, restart the laptop.

When windows has completely recharged, open your download folder, click with the right button on the setup of Synaptics and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once done, restart the laptop.

As this is a new installation, you may need to configure the parameters of scroll and others for the first time - all of the configurable options available are described here.

Today, I tried to restart my laptop and all of a sudden, they won't let me restart. It keep telling me that I can't or my hard drive is too small. and I tried all the option, even tried to restore my c: drive, but then he told me that I have to choose: full system restore:.

However, full system restore wasn't in one of my options and after that I dropped to restart the laptop want to just start over my windows, but then I can't do more because in the Windows error recovery just an option that is recovery tools, it doesn't have the choice as boot the system normally.

So now I can't enter to windows or restart my computer, how do I get into my windows again? Help, please. :(

    Hello

    1. What is the exact error message you get?

    Method 1:
I suggest you try the steps from the following link

Windows Vista or Windows 7 unbootable, and the Startup Repair tool does not resolve the problem
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/934540

Method 2: go to the BIOS (Basic Input Output system) Setup, & change the switch setting between AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) and IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics), SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) and the drive controller is restarted. If it solves your problem, the driver for the HARD disk (HDD) is corrupted.

IMPORTANT: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Method 3: Your hard drive is damaged to the point that it cannot even recognize that Vista has been installed on it. If you have a Windows Vista installation disc, you can try running chkdsk to fix the HARD disk; you need to restart (boot) your computer using the installation disc.

    a. Insert the installation disc and restart your computer.
    b. click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.
    c. If prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings. For more information, see check the link for the BIOS: frequently asked questions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/BIOS-frequently-asked-questions

    d. choose your language settings, and then click Next.
    e. click on repair your computer.
    f. Select the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    g. in the System Recovery Options menu, click command prompt
    h. type chkdsk /f / r and press ENTER.

    Important:
when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost

This will perform a disk check and perhaps recover the system. CHKDSK can repair problems related to bad sectors, lost clusters, reticulate files and directory errors

Method 4: I suggest you run /ScanOs, /FixBoot commands from following link:

How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

  • Full XP install in the virtual drive cannot start!

My company has limited Virtual PC Windows XP mode.  They said, however, that I could do a full install of the operating system on a virtual PC.  I downloaded an .iso image of Windows XP Professional SP3, but when I point the virtual disk to the .iso to boot image file, I get the error message: "PXE-E53: no boot file received.

    Hello

Thanks for the post. I appreciate that you try to install Windows XP on a virtual disk.

You cannot directly use the ISO image to install the operating system, you must burn it to a disk and then use the CD to install. You can use your favorite search engine to look for a tool that will allow you to burn the ISO to a CD.

  • the start-up of the firewire drive how to again install ssd internal?

Hi, I have not used assistant Migration but opted for clean installs the upgrade from 2009 to 2015 MBP.

I'm good to go except the old is only bootable from disk firewire external, how to take the exact image of what I use (mess on the desktop and documents!) more to the internal ssd that I already deleted and partitioned?

I want it essentially as it looks and works from the firewire drive, now start and look just as it does internal ssd

Do I need to initiate a new installation of El Cap first of all on the ssd? or is there a tool/way to copy such existing firewire bootable environment on the internal hard drive?

Thank you for taking the time to examine this problem.

    Rick

Although apparently you can start an external drive to snow leopard, it will not work if installed on the internal drive. As it is not backward compatible.  Otherwise I would say cloning the drive on the internal drive. Migration wizard is the only thing I can tell you to use. But be aware that some of the apps for Snow Leopard will not run in the new computer and the operating system. You should see if there are updates for them. Then you need to recreate the desktop again.

  • Windows will run after the installation drive encryption?

    Hi all

If I know, BitLocker is a service that Encrypt Drive and the data on a hard drive...

    It comes to my questions,

-When encrypt us the drive D: BitLocker, can we still access all data on this drive? for example, I replace the installation path of the C: drive on D: drive and when encrypt us drive D:, all programs will lead to D: still work?

-On the C: drive, should we encrypt or not?

-When will we should use Bitlocker to encrypt the d: drive?

Please give me a good idea please.

    Best regards

    Original title: BitLocker

I think you should better understand what it is before ask you these questions and even considered:

    http://www.PCWorld.com/article/2308725/a-beginners-guide-to-BitLocker-Windows-built-in-encryption-tool.html

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766295 (v = ws.10) .aspx

Your questions have answers such as: depends on how you set it up, if the drive is unlocked when you want to use, if you want to encrypt your user profile could and most of your data is at that time (C:\USERS\), and "what should we use ' is not something I can decipher.  Heh
