  You cannot move an icon in the Dock on the desktop. Right click (Control-click) the icon in the Dock, select Options, select Show in Finder. A Finder window opens with the selected application. Now click (or Ctrl-click) on the right and select Create an Alias. This will create an alias/shortcut to the app-drag the icon of the alias of the Application on the desktop folder. You can now drag the icon on the Dock and 'remove' to let go of it.

  If the icon you want the desktop is not an application the same instructions apply. Simply find the origin and do an alias to the drag on the desktop.

  Location for work or Notepad to default save is the location of the document libraries.

  And if creating a doc in any case, if you select file > Save as... you can navigate to the desired location and name it as required.

  Not quite sure what you mean by icon IE, unless you mean that you copied an address of IE on the desktop

  If you have a folder with pictures on the desktop, select the folder, click rt, navigate to the folder and navigate to the location of the pictures.

  Or if feeling brave, select file > cut... Start IE select photos, rt click the pictures folder, and then select Paste.

• A way to replace/disable the car dock app?

  I'm not a fan of the car dock app. I can only add an application shortcut and I can't replace those already existing. There is also a large icon back too much space in the application of the card that I can't turn off. In addition, I would rather just the default Google's Navigation app instead. It has a "follow me" function better when you browse not. Well, at least I like the first option in terms of person compared to aerial perspective.

  I use Rocket Dock and have Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Internet Explorer, with Firefox and Quickbooks shortcut icons that reside there.  They all work very well.  The shortcut for Apple iTunes also lives there and used to work as well.  After the latest iTunes software update, I replaced the shortcut existing in the dock with the new, as I always have.  By clicking on the icon in the dock, I get a Windows error message stating that the program cannot be found: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe.  Of course, the program is not in Program Files (x 86), it is in Program Files as C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe.  Verification of the objectives of the iTunes in the Start Menu and on the desktop shortcut icons, they are the two C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe.  I tried to recreate the icon repeatedly in several different ways with the same result (replaced by Program Files (x 86)).  It would be nice to have this feature as it used to.  Thank you very much.

  I can't imagine why RocketDock change your properties of the shortcut.  You can try using this path instead?

  I hope someone can help me with this problem. I am running a Windows XP operating system where I have recently been using a NI PCI-GPIB to connect to instruments. The other day, I had to turn off the desktop computer to disconnect the GPIB cable to move the material furniture - I do not remember if I had turned off equipment that were connected via GPIB cable before removing the GPIB cable from the desktop.

  Although I came to notice that he was in loose in the socket connection that it can be disconnected from the never removed the GPIB card slot. Now with etc-reconnected GPIB cable is unconnected with the instruments via the software I use--I don't see the equipment listed on MAX either. I had NEITHER-488. 2 installed v2.8 and following this issue and various changes to try to solve it (for example, move to another location, System Restore to previous restore point I knew the connection work etc.). I upgraded to 2.8.1 V and still the same issue.

  In Device Manager, there is a pilot 'unknown device' I have tried to update and no will - I even tried him assigning driver for the NI PCI-GPIB card that seemed to have worked but still no will.

  As a work-around, there are other ways of synchronization of files between devices.

  iCloud Drive, Box, OneDrive, DropBox, Google Drive. These will make everything you do.

  I tried Finder > Preferences > general - show these items on the desktop, hard drives of ticks. But it shows then all partitioned drives.

  The partitions must be included in the side bar of the Finder to choose. You can also click with the right button on a volume and select 'add to dock '. I don't know how to add an alias on the desktop.

  Is it possible to receive notifications on the Destkop? It would be nice to have a counter of unread for example emails and a message counter.

  I'm glad to hear you like Firefox OS! I understand that you want to move the desktop notifications. Currently, there is no option to customize notifications.

  I don't know if there's an app on the market that do that, but you can change all notifications to not appear on the home screen of the setting menu by pressing the Notification. In order to change notifications for new e-mail, tap e-mail account on the three bars on the left menu, click on the gear and then click the name of the account. From there on, there will be an option to disable the new e-mail notifications.
