Disassembly and warranty?

Would be dismantling void my warranty? I would like to apply for my thermal paste on the CPU and the GPU...

Usually there is a sticker somewhere on the
CPU or screws to the heatsink down,
If it is broken when you remove the heat sink,
It says "manipulation."

  • Hard drive replacement and warranty question Portege and Tecra models

    Good afternoon

I'm hoping for a little clarity if a laptop warranty is invalidated if the hard drive is replaced for another title of model/difference. The company that I work buys models Tecra and Portege for these last years, if we decide to buy more large hard disks and get our IT Department install them will be that gap in the agreement of guarantee with Toshiba?

I talked to Toshiba and they were a little gray in their response. They said that, if you didn't damage the laptop, it should be fine, but if you send it as an unrelated question, with what they can carry out repairs on the laptop if the hard drive does not match the orgional one provided...

Can somone if this is the case? It seems ridiculous that you would not be able to replace the drive even if bought from an official and used dealer in a corporate environment.

    Kind regards

    Jonsey

As much as I know RAM and HDD upgrade do not negate the warranty. For many models of laptops, you can find instruction how to do this. It is described in the document of the user s manual or you can find short videos on Toshiba documents (knowledge base).

Even on this forum in the USER SELF REPLACEMENT section you will find instructions how to replace the hard drives.

What you can also do is to contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider and check what they say on this subject.

  • Question about faulty adapter and warranty

    Dear community,

I would like to ask for your help, because I am not fully aware of the security regulations.

My Toshiba laptop charger is seen error contact for a long time, but I need on a daily basis of the device, and at the gas station, I was told that I have to give my computer laptop too at least a week.
I don't have enough money for a new charger, but maybe I could fix it.

My question is that if I fix the charger, will I lose my warranty for the device in the laptop too, or just the charger?

I thank in advance for your answers is, it is really important for me.

    Hello

Laptops as well as the laptop parts are covered by the standard warranty.
AFAIK the laptop as well as parts must be repaired by the authorized Toshiba service provider to keep the warranty valid.

I m not very good if an adapter can be repaired. I think that this part would be simply replaced. So if you have a defective power adapter, I recommend you contact the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country to get a new part.

Also, you should be aware that the use of defective parts (power supply, for example) can damage additional parts like laptop's motherboard and this could lead to expensive repair procedures.

  • Toshiba and warranty in GREECE issues service

    December 18, 2012, I put a PORTABLE Toshiba (Satellite L650-11 t / Core3 - 350 M / 3GB / 320/15.6 Serial: 8A344513Q) for the Department of service because one of the keys on the keyboard has been dislodged.

Upon delivery of the product the receptionist on the duty to inform me that usually costs Toshiba problems because that do recognize them not as guarantee do not accept these default values.

When I buy the product and all the products of Toshiba (Lap Tops) that I got a 4-year warranty and to be more precise in the past with the same problem, the company change the keyboard without charging to understand this warranty fill the problem.

Today, I was informed by the service that I have to pay 30 euros to change the keyboard because they do not accept the products guarantee complete the terms of something which I believe is unacceptable.

If the customer creates problems on the keyboard there is a problem in several buttons not only for a button to be dislodged.

The customer perception is unfair and against the warranty policy that Toshiba has sell the product.

I try to contact TOSHIBA in Greece, but I try to talk with someone who has the power to give me more info finally the receptionist told me she was the only person.

When I ask the depto service send me a written response on the perception, I was informed that there want it send me the warranty rules something is rediculus.
As a customer why I not be informed that the company did not accept the default and they hiden under the General rules?

Really I thing in the offices of Toshiba of Greece are the only empty spaces and the after sales service is an empty room.

I'm sory but after so many years as a Toshiba user I get these responses and treated like this.

  • Satellite Pro A100: Question about RAM upgrade and warranty

I just bought my machine and Ive decided to install some more ram. No one knows if it will affect my Gurentee. I can't find anything on the Web site on this topic. Should I get a Toshiba to install official repairman or something?
    Thank you

    Hello

Please check you user manual. Usually, the slot memory must be placed at the bottom of the unit. If you remove the cover, you should see the slots.
Usually memory upgrade procedure is described in the user manual so you can upgrade the memory yourself and the procedure of upgrading doesn t affect your warranty.
But please make sure you use the right modules.
However, you can also contact Toshiba for the upgrade of memory.

  • Printing problems HP Officejet 4500 and warranty issues

    Help!

I have problems with a HP Officejet 4500 that I bought last January.  He stopped working at the end of December, but I had to get out of town for Christmas and have not reported in time.  It is not my main printer, so I didn't start working to try to make it work until today.

It will start printing, but stops after a few lines, the screen indicates that it is out of ink.  Sometimes he says that the black ink is low, sometimes the tri-color, sometimes both.  After I have the OK button it will print another line or two until it stops and says it's out of ink.  What it prints, it's kind of uneven and blotchy.  Sometimes it falls a letter of a Word.

When I run a report it wybody help best cut down the lines.  For example, if the line is different sizes of the 'Aa' letter, it will only print the top of the letter.  He will also skip lines.

I cleaned the cartridges, I aligned the cartridges (that I did when I put these new cartridges), and I'm at the end of my mind!

Can someone help me or am I just bad luck?

    Thank you!

I would like to look at this document here. It will give one the troubleshooting steps to try to resolve the problem you are having with a quality of printer output. Among the measures here are ones you mentioned by train, but there are others in the document which are available and which were not included in the above post. If you reach the end of the document, and the question is still involved, would seek the replacement of the product.

If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

  • Satellite L755-1NX repair and warranty

Two months ago, I bought a new Toshiba Satellite L755-1NX.
    *
After this short period of normal use, the connection between the charger and the computer was damaged from overheating problems. The laptop and the Charger AC/DC seem to be tonwork well outside this huge detail which prevents me from using the computer.
    *
I contacted Toshiba Service customer and went to a repair center with my laptop. There, I was informed that since this model had no known connection problem (something that I have translated as not enough complaints) the warranty does not cover repair.

If I am to fix that I have to spend an additional 90, setting a new computer and there is no guarantee that this problem will happen again in the future.

I complained to the service the customer in Spain and they stated that the warranty includes no physical damage to the laptop. I do not accept this answer, since there is an obvious defect in the connection. Asides from that, the law says clearly that it is up to the seller to prove the wrong use of any electronic device and not the customer to prove a defect.

Any ideas on how to proceed outside to make a formal complaint to the defence of client and not recommend Toshiba to anyone?

    Hello

To be honest, it is not easy to say what to do.
    >.. .the connection between the charger and the computer has been damaged from overheating issues
I really put t know how something like this can happen. I mean if the temperature was so high in this respect damage what is with laptop parts and other components. Following my logic, your laptop should be more damaged than that.

Please don t get me wrong now, but anyway this is a strange question. You are also the first person who reported about it so I sure this is nothing else than to isolated reports of m.
    > Any ideas on how to proceed outside to make a formal complaint to the defence of the client...
Be cool and try to clarify this point with the service. They have their own rules as any other serous company.
    >.. .and not recommend Toshiba to anyone?
I put t know what to say on this subject. For me, it sounds rather childish. When I read it, this looks like some sort of revenge and how to get satisfaction. Don t waste your time with something that won't help at all. You would do the same if you have problems with TV, VCR, phone, car... and and and... I don t think so. Where is the end?

In the past, I had several problems with different products in my house or my car. That s the life my friend. Sometimes, everything is OK, but sometimes, we just... .bad luck.

  • Add memory to my A50 and warranty

I want to add some memory to my A50-522, but I want to make sure that I don't lose the guarantee of 3 years if I open the memory slot.

    Thank you

    Hi Gualtiero,

Adding additional memory RAM to your A50 should not affect your warranty at all. He is reputed to be an option of upgrade of the user, like removing/replacing the battery.

Only disassembly of components real case will void your warranty.

  • W520 build quality and warranty

So I contacted Lenovo to have this repaired W520 (left speaker and fan). They pick up today.

But now I regret that didn't report any issues with the quality of construction. I thought there is nothing that they can / will do about and build quality are not covered by this warranty. But now I think to myself, it's quite unacceptable (and embarrassing) that my previous laptop, a Fujitsu-Siemens, which cost 500 euros in 2005, has better quality of construction than a Thinkpad 1600EUR of 2011. Is this thing supposed to compete with the Macbook or not? There are many signs of coward and seams, and open the lid, lift, now or in any way manipulate the computer feels very painful and terrifying to all the noises, he does. I find myself being extremely careful whenever I'm moving or touch this thing. Not convenient.

The bezel of the screen is very loose almost completely, and I'm afraid he'll let dust come into the camera over time. Rubber thingies (sorry for my English) on the bezel are not symmetrical, those left and top look good, but the one on the right is just a half.

Opening the lid almost always makes a rattling of the left hinge. The left hinge has such a hold tight on its axis it came loose from the base, and moves a little during the handling of the cover. Sometimes, the hinge is so tight that it's a cracking noise when I'm trying to move the lid, which may damage the screen. The right hinge is perfect and again when you move the lid.

Seams and loose panels can be a simple aesthetic question in the area of the left speaker, where it is natural and understandable that thermal expansion causes some... vagueness. But I find it unacceptable that palmrest produced squeaky noises annoying when my hands are in normal positions of typing. The seam between the Palm and the lower panel is pretty loose almost completely.

Cover closed, the left corner remains significantly higher than the right. May be related to the asymmetry in the tightness of the hinge.

Lifting of the computer, if you're holding it in the area of the bottom in front Fn and shift keys, the background often makes a strong sound cracking, as if there was a crack in the motherboard or something. After that, the movement of the cover plays the sound. Very concerning and boring.

I think it should cover. So my question is, is this normal? Or could I get these fixed under warranty?

If you have problems of scope screen with fit and finish and the hinge you can ask warranty on it as long as it is not induced by the user.
