Disc of Windows 7 SP1

Hi all

Had to do a reinstall of Windows 7 after that my computer was shanghaied in an installation of Windows 10.  My PC is too old to manage Windows 10, according to the folks at Microsoft.  So I reinstall Windows 7 Pro and try to do a Windows Update.  He has been looking for updates now for the last 4 hours and nothing has yet come.  Is it possible to tell how old this disc of Windows 7 Pro SP1 is?  I mean, if this disc is an original disc of SP1 back initially when SP1 came out, it could take DAYS to download them all.  But then again, if it is a disk that is a few months old, then he shouldn't take this long to find updates.  Any thoughts?  Since no brick and mortar retailers will sell Windows 7 disks more, and I bring on Amazon or other places, is it possible to watch and discover by exploring the drive to see what is the date of manufacture on it?

Thank you

It is expected by M$, we must now jump through hoops to clean install.

It is a way older but still works just check out some of the last comments for new KB # install manually are instead in this order

You need a disk FULL/license to do a clean install, not an upgrade license.

Take it back to Wal-Mart and see if you can exchange it.

  • There was an update to Windows XP sp1 would recognize higher than 127 readers ~ 137 GB, why this update was not in the version later service pack?

    (1) there was an update to Windows XP sp1 would recognize higher than 127 readers ~ 137 GB, why this update was not in the version later service pack?

    (2) where can I find so that I can then reinstall windows XP, updated to sp1, install the patch to see the complete player to sp2 and 3 can be installed?

    original title: supervision XP

Maybe the disc has been formatted as part of your original installation of Windows XP with a pre - SP1 version of Windows.  At that point, he could only format the drive as 137 GB.  After you upgrade to a post-SP1 version of Windows, look at your hard drive with Disk Manager (start-> Run-> "diskmgmt.msc").  It can show the rest of your unused space that you might then be able to allocate in a second partition.

If you want to keep one big partition, you will need to get a 3rd third party tool that can extend your current 137 GB partition to use more of the available space.  Google for it, plenty of them out there including those that are free.

  • DNS error - IE cannot connect to the Internet - Windows XP SP1 :(

I'm trying to help my brother. We have a Dell Dimension 3000 running Windows XP SP1. The computer has a virus, and a clean installation was completed. That is why, it is show SP1 now that those were records. Everything seems to be OK until trying to connect to the Internet (there's currently IE6). From message which can not find the DNS server.

I've done several things already including cleaning winsock and winsock2 and reinstall TCP/IP. Manager of network devices is here. I get a ping to the IP address 169.meta XXX but no ping at all outside the site.

I went into Internet Options menu. I'm lost what to try next. Help!

    Thank you.

    Joelkaghami,

Ok. Let me clarify a point. My brother lives in a different House, further away from me. I have the Dell Dimension now home trying to get updated, he had a virus and system has been reloaded. But he was only SP1. I know it will take forever to download and update the machine through dial-up and the disc, he got the ISP did not recognize IE6.

So, to help my brother, I brought the computer to my house I have a DSL network and I was going to the network it and then do the automatic updates to update the system here and then give it to him. However, I could not the computer to communicate with my network.

OK, that makes more sense to me; Please specify.

In the meantime, I downloaded the SP2, SP3 (still need to install this one as stated above) and IE8 on the site of MS. I have have updated the computer, but still can not communicate with my network. And that is why I am asking about the modem ISP connection. I thought just update with SP3 and then ship back to his house and let him try the ISP software. It might just make him go.

    Good.

In my view, sp3 includes a newer IE, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, if you want you can download the updates, and then copy them to the dell.

    1. go on a computer that can go on the internet.

    2. download the updates on the hard drive.

    3. copy the updates to the dell via USB key, cd, dvd, etc.

Here is a link to download a newer IE:

Here is a link to download the sp2:

Here is a link for the updates (you won't have it):

So that's the story. Sorry if I confused you sooner.

No prob.  I really wanted to hear that the dell works and can get on the internet.

I tried the update of windows vista sp1, and it continues to fail. I even tried manually upgrade and still nothing. I recently bought an external hard drive and I thought that I formatted it to my pc and mac. Well my pc does not recognize it because sp1 is not installed. If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    How can I integrate Windows 7 SP1 in a NON - SP1 install.wim

I have a little experience with DISM but can't seem to get SP1 inserted into a NON - sp1 install.wim file.

I did a lot of research, and the greater part of the answer of all seems them to start with a disc of sp1.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Jhein,

Rather than add the SP1 version for .wim files, you can get the latest ISO of Windows 7 SP1 from this link. Instructions for installing Windows 7 SP1 can be found here.

If you really want to change the install.wim from your original installation media, it would be better to post your query on support of Windows 7 IT Pro TechNet forums .

  • Which driver Apple opens the door to disc in Windows 10?

Which driver Apple opens the door to disc in Windows 10?  I have a Mac Pro 64 bit and updated since Windows 8.1 for Windows 10.  I've updated the Boot Camp Assistant support files and the door does not open.  I do not use the player a lot more, but it would be a pain to have to start on Mac, open the drive and Windows to use a boot disk. The F keys seem to work in Word.  Software update in Windows can find nothing more.  I could try to fix the driver if I knew that one...

  • Cannot run Windows 7 SP1 on big HDD (1 TB)

    Hello

I just realized about this very recent which is apparently now closed:

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=275105

I had same problem with a Toshiba 1 TB drive - I lost on that day and tried at least 10 Windows 7 installs with various behaviours/settings/partitions and still the same result. Cannot run Windows Update.

I also tried to install Windows 7 SP1 from a DVD and have failed with a catastrophic mistake. I also tried to reformat the disk, the WIndows repair tool (ha!) update and installation when you're standing on my head while reciting the works of Shakespear.

I gave up in the end and decided to NOT use it as a system disk at all. Instead, I installed Windows 7 on a smaller drive and uses the 1 TB and successfully as a secondary on the same PC drive with a single partition of 1 TB.

I'm likely to have problems - maybe when the player is more complete and if I might be wise to split into 2 or more partitions?

I just bought the drive so I can send it if it's going to be a waste of time.

    Thank you very much.

And what model of Toshiba laptop do you have?

  • How to install my BT stack for windows on the laptop using Windows Vistta SP1

When I try to install my newly bought USB Bluetooth adapter (CN-512/521 v2 001) on my laptop from another production that has an operating system of Windows Vista SP1, it will help not make me, saying "Bluetooth Stack for Windows incompatible with this version of Windows, please check with Toshiba - contact Toshiba on upgrades or other possible solutions to make this program compatible with this version of Windows.

But when I was directed to the Toshiba site I could not find any help or advice on this subject. Can someone tell me what to do?

You are right. Use at least 5 or later if you want to install a Vista. Visit the website of the seller adapter USB Bluetooth if a newer version is available. The version on the Web of Toshiba Bluetooth site is customized for these books, and not as a result of your hardware.
