Discs of recovery, or vanilla Windows Installer on Q770 and 2nd HARD drive

The Qosmio Q770 need to reinstall windows,

At thining use the disks of recovery, or just vanilla win 7 and then add drivers, I need.

issue with recovery disks it will affect the 2nd hard drive because that's where all my data?

Thank you

LoonyT

In my opinion, you must install Windows using the original recovery disk. It is much easier and you do not install all the drivers, tools and utilities. All this is included in the recovery image. After installation of recovery image simply configure OS and you can remove applications that you don't need.

I force test but I m pretty sure second disk will not be changed, just the main hard drive so your data must be secured. You can make backup anyway.

Check the system restore to see how much disk space it uses:

    Click Start

    Right click on computer

    Click on properties

    Click on advanced system settings

    Click on the System Protection

    Click on configure

Adjust the amount of disk space allocated to system restore.

In addition, the amount of RAM you have installed, it will take more disk space for paging, hibernation, and dump files.

  • I have a serial number valid for windows Vista Home Basic, but my hard drive crashed and I have no way to re - install vista on my computer. I am looking for a download so I can do it.

Basically, I installed windows 2000 on my machine and I can't find a download for windows vista home basic that doesn't have some kind of crack or keygen. I want a legal copy not a hack. I have the serial number supplied with my computer. where can I find this download or get a drive.

Here are all LEGAL for Vista:

How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • Local tech installed Windows Vista Home Premium after a hard drive failure. However, my key is Windows Basic. Is the copy, he put on my system illegal?

    Genuine Windows clean install

    Hello

I had a problem with my laptop Acer Extensa 5230th. It was not started and so I took for Matech computers.  They diagnosed as having a mechanical drive problem.  So they replaced the drive and installed a more recent version of windows vista on.  Note: I haven't bought a new copy of vista family premium, he said he was going to reinstall vista.  It had windows Vista Home Basic, it has installed vista Home premium and said that he had validated by call from windows, but I'm suspicious because I don't think you can use a base of windows key to validate Home premium!  It means that he has put on an illegal version on windows or used the genuine key that came with the laptop.

In addition, on computers of brands, if this happens again, how is a technician for legally to reinstall the original windows that it came with the new hard drive? How to install windows vista basic on the new hard drive by using the original key to make it genuine? What windows installation disc would you require? or is it easier to just buy a new copy of windows?  I heard that many technicians, prefer to install illegal versions of cracking of windows instead of the customer to buy the new installation of windows.
    Kind regards
    Lewis

  • Can I install windows 7 on the superdive replacement hard drive

    Hello people,

Recently I replaced the drive of my macbook pro 13 inch mid-2012 with an adapter (caddy tray) to put in a second hard drive (500 GB todhiba).

Now I am trying to install windows 7 with bootcamp (on an os x 10.9.5, bootcamp 5.1.2), but when I boot from the usb device, when windows ask me which drive I want to install it, it says: windows cannot be installed to this disk, drive must be formatted ntfs + your computer hardware seem unable to run windows 7 check your system components and try again.

I've tried several things: the direct USB win7 reformat, delete the partition, create partition... still no luck.

Of in osx: reformat the disk with unallocated space (MBR) and try again to install direct USB... had the same error messages.

I even tried to install Ubuntu gnome rather with a live usb works but all I get when holding the option button while booting is my Macintosh HD, the drive appears.

Can someone give me about workaround or even show me the way? I am out of ideas now.

    Thank you very much

    Simon.

  • Qosmio F30 - 112 - Windows XP does not recognize the HARD drive

    Hello.

    I have a Qosmio F30-112.
I tried to install the Windows XP Professional instead of the Media Center edition.
However, during the execution of the installer, my laptop does not recognize the hard drive. Therefore, the installation cannot continue.

I thought it might be a problem of corruption with my laptop and reinstalled Media Center Edition successfully.
But when I try to install XP Professional it always gives me the same error.

Suggestions for the configuration of the BIOS or solutions for why this is happening?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    Just a question:
You are looking for in this forum for other similar issues with regard to the installation of Win XP and lack HARD drive? I doubt

The fact is that your notebook has a SATA controller and you need a SATA (Intel Matrix Storage Manager) driver.

You should have a look here in this doc from Toshiba:

  • Windows CD can not find installed hard drives

I have a PC that has windows XP installed and worked well and I have DSL so I kept it updated. It has been updated for the updates. It was a month that it seemed hung on a windows update and I've finally powered down to exit the update mode. After that, he would finally in XP but would not other that the busy when an icon is clicked. I decided to reload XP using the same CD I used originally when I built PC. It will load the drivers to install XP, but when installing windows is selected it says no hard drives found. When booting 2 HARD disks are displayed, but are not detected when you look in the BIOS. I've tried changes in the BIOS as auto detect HDD including default BIOS and not go. I remembered to change a partition using Partition magic 8.0 and decided that might be the problem, so I started in the magic of partition and formatted part C of the HDD in NTFS, but the results are the same. Any suggestion is appreciated. TIA

Do you mean you see a message like this?

Setup did not find any hard drives installed in your computer. Make sure that the hard drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any hardware configuration of the drives is correct. This may involve a diagnosis provided by the manufacturer or the installer running. Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3.

If the disks are not appearing in BIOS, it seems unlikely that XP will be able to see them no more.

Describe the best you can, your hard disk configuration...  IDE, SATA, SCSI, RAID configurations...

You build the hardware yourself or is it a system store bought?

Are you able to determine when the system turns on, the brand and model of your motherboard and the BIOS it is running?

Without more information, I can only offers these general reflections where to search:

When you see a message like this, obviously the XP installation starts to load, but then when the installation program needs to go out and find your hard drive is not find the hard drive.  It means not necessarily your hard drive is defective and if it worked before, it's probably still plugged.  It simply means that the installation of XP is not able to find it.

Looks like you need enter the BIOS on your system by pressing the 'Delete', F2, F10 or F12 key (what the key is good for your system), find the section where the types of hard disks and hard disk interfaces are configured and temporarily change the setting so the XP installation is able to find the hard drive.

Where to find the accommodation and how to change depends on your system manufacturer and the version of the BIOS, so you end up having to look at her.  If you know your system brand and model, we can probably help you find a job.

You must locate and change the interface mode to your hard drive in the BIOS so that when installing XP loading, it will be able to locate the hard drive.

Before making adjustments, you should take note of what are the current BIOS settings, so you can change when you are finished.

The adjustment varies so here are some examples that I have accumulated:

The adjustment is done in the BIOS and could be in Integrated Peripherals, Configuration of SATA, SATA Mode device.  After you make the changes, save them and restart your XP installation program.

If you find that the mode is set on the RAID/SATA mode, change the IDE mode.

If you find that the mode is set to AHCI, change the ATA mode.

If you find that the mode is set to AHCI emulation Mode, change the IDE emulation mode.

If you find that the mode is set to SATA, SATA mode off or change the ATA mode.

If you find that the mode is set to SATA Native Mode, disable the native SATA Mode.

If you find that the mode is set on AHCI/RAID Autodetect, change the combination mode.

If find you the setting that works for you, I would like to know what it is so I can add it to my notes.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

    Hello

Updates must be installed in a certain order and no Service Pack must be installed unless and until it is offered through Windows Update.

    However, try these options:

Step 1: You can not reuse what already automatically downloaded and installed. You can however save updates and install them manually if you wish.

Step 2: You can create a system image on the computer. A system image is an exact copy of a disc. By default, a system image includes the drives required for Windows to run. In addition, it includes Windows and your system settings, programs and files. You can use a system image to restore the contents of your computer if your hard drive or computer ever stops working.
