  I have a windows 7 on virtualbox 4.08 which I want to run in Vmware workstation instead.   Since Virtualbox use vdi instead of the vmdk format, I have converted vmdk disk image.

  Although vmware workstation boots the converted image that the blue screen of death appears and the initialization of the process repeat foreover.  I tried to stop the boot process, but I could not (there is no way (time or other) press F2!).

  Any suggestions?

• Disorder of conversion of databases (PSE8 to PSE14)... psedbtools made me close (?), but I still 3 .psess missing files.

  I spent several hours trying to convert my PSE8 PSE14 database. I followed the recommendations I've seen in the forums and with psedbtools:

  1. Reconnect all the files missing and optimized (in PSE8)
  2. At ran psedbtools and addressed to a problem of serial number of volume (using volumeid.exe) and several missing files (that PSE himself, in step 1, has not set)

  Psedbtools shows still 3 missing files; These are files in my directory of catalog as .psess

  Why? Your code takes the path of the VI and tapes twice. The result will depend on exactly where the VI is inside the EXE. If your build specification is the 8.x flag set, the VI will be under the EXE. Otherwise, its exact location will depend on the hierarchy of your screw, because the screws are saved with their locations of origin related within the EXE.

  I guess what you should actually use the Application Directory VI, which returns the EXE file, no matter what either call him VI.

  I guess it's possible your 2013 project had flag set and 2015 8.x reset for some reason, but that doesn't seem likely.

  I have some album artwork that uses a font like hand that is fake fat. and he won't let me convert it to forms. Printing company asked two fonts must be converted to fonts embedded in PDF files or forms. I tried to do both and had no success. Test prints I myself just make fonts printing a weird color.

  As you have noticed, you cannot create a text with false style shape. However, there is workaround of sorts.

  Select the text with the magic wand. Go to the paths and convert selection to a work path. Go to edit and select Define Custom shape... Give it a name and click OK. It will now be part of your collection of form for the custom shape tool. Understand what size you want it to be and make sure keep Proportions is selected.

  It is certainly a hack. YMMV.

  This syntax works for me. You don't need to edit the file grub.cfg, but grub-install script, which (in my case), is under/usr/sbin/grub-install. You have to put these lines at the top of the file (well, after the #! / bin/sh line).

  The idea is that the converter is running grub-install-v to detect version and in this way, we return a GRUB2 version in a recognizable format, so it can detect the version correctly and properly.

• VMWare Converter / ESXi - convert before installing ESXi?

  I need to convert a physical machine into a format that VMWare ESXi will be able to run. The problem is that I have not and can not install VMWare ESXi until this conversion is already done. VMWare converter standalone client customer has two options for the type of destination:

  • Machine virtual VMware Infrastructure (while the right choice, apparently, I can't pick it that I have not yet installed ESXi any where)

  • VMware Workstation or other virtual machines to VMware

  When I choose the second option, I can "Select VMware product", however, ESX/ESXi is not an option. One of these options will convert to a format that ESXi will be able to run once installed without additional conversion?

  I think I should choose VMware Server 1.x as I think it's running version 4, like ESXi hardware.

  The release notes for Converter 4 State that ESXi 3.5 is a goal taken in charge in the future you will be just able to select ESX for the destination and you will be fine.

  In this case, you can select the VMware Workstation or other Machine virtual VMware opton and store than the P2V would be the machine on a Windows share. You can then use again later on, converter to convert the virtual machine in ESX format.

  The user guide for the product says that it is possible and taken care of.

  I had to kind of buy this computer when my original 2006 HP Pavilion Media Center a1340n desktop PC died suddenly and power could not be restored could not find a diet that would be appropriate. Not sure if there was a power surge or what, but whatever it is out of my monitor as well. (If I could get a power supply and check the motherboard I would just keep using that as well since I have an extra monitor)

  Only computers in the city at the time (right at Christmas) have been the version of Windows 8. Trying to install older programs, I'm running into problems and DO NOT have the money to replace all of the following - Photoshop CS2, Paint Shop Pro 9, Poser 5, PhotoImpact 5, Painter 8 and Corel Draw 7.

  What I was asking is possible how is it upgraded to Windows 8 Pro (from now at a discount price), install a Virtual Machine and then install Win XP in my older Pavilion? Can I install Win XP (we have the original CD) of the older computer in this new computer on a virtual machine?

  If you don't mind not to reinstall your software, you should probably avoid some frustration of what precedes the conversion of your old hard drive in a virtual machine and just install an activated XP in a virtual machine or possibly use the XP Mode.

  XP mode is a special version of XP Pro OEM, I thought was available for some editions of Windows 7. However, apparently a number of people is running it successfully on VirtualBox and VMWare. A certain file can be extracted using 7-zip and renamed as a virtual hard drive. I read that you can use this virtual hard disk in VMPlayer without need of activation.  I checked you can do the same thing in VirtualBox, but after you create the virtual machine, you need another file.   I recently tried to create a bootable USB to install windows 7 on my MacBook Air running Mac OS.

  I tried to use unetbootin to a player from the ISO file I have. Worked well, but I got a message at the end saying that the disc I created will not be able to boot on a mac. As said the program, when I tried to start up the USB, it wasn't there. I heard somewhere that you cannot start a windows on Mac OS installation disc up. Is there a workaround or a solution to this problem?

  (btw I can't use Boot Camp because now it only supports Windows 10 and more)

  You cannot start a Mac with Windows without Boot Camp. You can create a Windows 7 virtual machine using VirtualBox (free), VMWare Fusion or Parallels Desktop.

  I would like stable windows in a virtual machine running from linux and run my VI labview and make the acquisition from there.  I tried once using Windows XP 32 - bit virtualized on ubuntu 64-bit, with Virtualbox, but windows setup does not recognize my card PCI-MIO-16-4.  Maybe its because I had not installed the linux drivers... I do not know.  Soon I will start using an FPGA 7853R with the PXI-1036 chassis and would prefer if my Windows installation virutalized could see this material.

  Anyone who crossed through the stages of the use of materials of a virtual Windows installation?  VirtualBox, Xen, Vmware or whatever...

• I have a Canon T3i and when I take pictures in auto mode, all my pictures look a bit washed out.

  If I put my camera in P mode, put the balance of whites in the setting "100", of "disorder" (even in the Sun) ISO Picture style 'landscape', my photos look better, have more color saturation, more to my taste.  Guess my question is, is it possible to make the settings in automatic mode, to achieve the results in my pictures that I receive when you use the Mode "P"?  It seems to be the same for all the goals that I use, although usually use my Canon 18-55mm kit lens.   I took samples of the same scene in a car, then P mode and the difference is dramatic.  Is it possible to change the default settings in Automatic Mode for this problem?  And if not, why Cannon would set the default settings for these poor results?

  Because I gave up on Auto a very long time for the same reasons that you are having problems I don't know whether or not they have improved how it works. IF you get better results in PROGRAM mode (which you can also refine to be of even better results) then I think that it works as expected. I THINK Canon should not give buyers a DSLR the Auto setting. More first-time buyers spend a lot of time to earn the money to buy their first DSLR & think they can ignore learn them to use by choosing the Auto Mode. For me, it's a foolish gesture. Spend 10% of the time that it took to earn money by reading the manual & practicing things, he tries to explain.
