display 17 inch

my laptop is a dv7 1029wm. My question is... i need a screen and wonder if any screen 17-inch dv7 will work or should it be for a 1029wm only? shook and can't afford a new right now. Help, please. Thanks in advance

It is certainly not specific to the model dv7-1029wm. Laptop screens are almost generic and all what you have to do is remove the existing screen and get the number on the back screen manufacturer and seek in this way.

You can swing $33?

  • kernel_task runaway (from 300 to 600%) CPU with 2 external displays

I have a MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012), and for a year and a half, I've had episodes fighter during the kernel_task suddenly begin to consume all processor CPU (from 300 to 600%), is the response of the system so slow it is impossible to use.  I experience these episodes throughout the front 1-2 years that the machine went from Yosemite El Capitan and now Sierra.

Normally, I use my MacBook with two external displays, both at work and at home.  At work, I have two external screens of Lenovo, and at home, I have two screens Apple (Apple Cinema Display 27-inch and 27-inch Apple Thunderbolt Display). I discovered that this kernel_task high CPU usage can only be stopped by disconnecting one of the external screens.  After unplugging an external display, the kernel_task subsides immediately to normal (< 5%).  After a few minutes, I can reconnect the 2nd external screen and proceed normally (sometimes for days, sometimes for hours, sometimes for a few minutes) until the kernel_task pulls up to 300-600% again.  The use of the high CPU kernel_task never happens unless I have two external displays connected.

Note that since I upgraded to MacOS Sierra fugue kernel_task CPU frequency has increased considerably: of 1 kernel_task runaway every several days to a runaway almost every 10 minutes or so.   I don't have a reason this frequency has increased, but the runaway condition seems to have worsened by the fact that the photoanalysisd daemon is running like crazy on my grand (72 000) library of Photos.

Also note that I started in recovery mode and have re-installed MacOS Sierra, and it has no effect on the runaway kernel_task.

Any ideas on how to fix this resumption of kernel_task of all my CPU?

    Description:

Sometimes, while working with my MacBook connected to two external displays, the kernel_task pulls up to 600 to 800% CPU and stays there until I unplug at least one of the external screens.  After disconnecting, the kernal_task subsides immediately to normal (< 5%).  After a few minutes, I can plug the 2nd external screen and proceed normally (sometimes for days, sometimes for hours, sometimes for a few minutes) until the kernel_task pulls up to 600 to 800% again.  The use of the high CPU kernel_task never happens unless I have two external displays connected.

    Hey Buddy,

I'm sorry to hear that, but it seems that it was just bad luck. These things can happen still independent how old your notebook is and how many times you used it. Laptop is an electric element, so no one can say how long the parts works properly.

In any case, now, it is important you find a screen new and cheap. At first I contact an authorized service provider and ask the guy how much it would cost. They can order the parts for you.

If you are familiar with disassembly laptop second hand up as eBay would be also interesting for you. If you find a second hand display, you can replace it yourself, second hand parts are generally much cheaper and it would be worth a try.

But maybe someone else here is a screen for you and make you an offer by e-mail. I hope so. ;)

  • Spaces does not work properly

I have a Retina Display 27-inch iMac. Although spaces were working in El Capitan, including slide 2 fingers (mouse) to slide between spaces and assigning specific to alternative spaces applications (for example, iTunes has been assigned to the office 2).

After the transition to macOS Sierra, I can still use spaces of Mission control, by selecting a space in the jobs at the top of the screen after pressing F3. However, swiping two fingers on the mouse (this gesture is enabled) or launch an iTunes of the 1st (it is assigned to the office 2) results in immediate disconnection and the reappearance of the login screen. No matter what method of switching of spaces that does not directly through Mission control causes this disconnection/connection. I tried to reset the SMC, without success.

It is originally a major crimp in my workflow that I have requests assigned to various work stations and must be able to launch them directly in these spaces and drag from one to the other as I could with El Capitan.

Everything else under macOS Sierra seems to work fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think this may be a problem with corruption of preference files because I also installed macOS Sierra on a Mac Mini with a hp monitor and spaces seems to work fine on this machine.

    Hi Dahlgren.

I see that you encounter a problem with spaces on your Mac since the update to Mac OS Sierra.  I understand that it is important to resolve this, because it affects your workflow, and I'm happy to offer assistance.  It would be useful to further isolate this issue, if you create a new administrator account on the Mac, to see if the problem persists.  Here are the instructions to help you get started and please let us know how it goes.

  • Can I use a screen larger than 27 "on Mac Mini?

    Some screens may work through a Thunderbolt by adapter connection;

You may need to check what specification and then if the

the numbers are what you can tolerate. If you really a 2011

Screen or another model by 2012, spec Mac Mini support

will vary. To correctly identify the model year of construction unit and not

year sold, it is more direct. Also by looking for serial number.

  • 2008 MacPro ATI HD5770 - new monitor 3.1

You want to upgrade my monitor to a 27 "WQHD 2560 x 1440... that should support the my card AMD ATI HD 5770 specifications.

My question is about the ports... there a DVI - D and 2-port mini display. They both will play WQHD?

And I use an HDMI adapter if the monitor doesn't have a DVI - d... or do I need a DVI - D port on the monitor?

    TKS

The 5770 can support up to a cinema display 30 inch Apple (DVI to 2560 by 1600) of each of its three ports, or all at the same time if you wish.  It may be able to go a little higher, but not quite up to what we consider 4K.

DVI is a Single/Dual-Link DVI, which can be converted directly and simply to 1920 by 1080 p HDMI. Each mini DisplayPort can be converted simply and cheaply in 1920 by 1080 p HDMI.

But go higher using HDMI requires attention to absolutely every detail, special cables, special parameters inside the display of the limited distances, and we never think about other things. And you always run the risk that the resolution you are looking for is achievable, but only at 45 Hz or 30 Hz.

DisplayPort (or its variant Mini) is where you should look for the best compatibility if you buy new screens.
