DLNA Nighthawk AC1900

I am a complete novice and ignore completely (even if I'm posting in the right place) so please keep answers as simple as possible.

I am now using to AC1200 D6200 Moden router model, with Netgear genius installed.but as my ISP change over fiber, I bought a Nighthawk AC1900 D7000 model

Question: Is Netgear engineering the same for all models of routers so that I can include the use of one installed for AC1200 or I have to download a new version for the new AC1900?

It has been my experience. The autonomous genius, if that's what you want to say rather than the little genius of the web interface, is a generic package that supports a range of hardware.

I don't know if the application supports everything, however. Some kit may be simply too old for his magic.

  • DLNA Nighthawk D7000

You just buy the D7000 Nighthawk.

Plugged my drive network in him, that I use on the WNDR4500 for centuries and it seems that when using DLNA, the router thinks MP4 files are music files and indeed, it allows only the soundtrack to play, in fact they appear in the folder music DLNA. All files to be included correctly when you use the WNDR4500.

I did a format complete the disk, just in case if I'm starting to wonder if the implimentation of DLNA on the D7000 is incorrect.

    Firmware is V1.0.0.32_1.0.1

All the files play ok on the network, so it's something really wrong with DLNA. Movies folder is located in the root directory and at the moment is the only file on the disk.

Any help or advice would be appreciated

    Hi Darren,

There has just been an another V1.0.0.38_1.0.1 update and it seems to have solved the problem. Although it was not mentioned in the update notes.

Thank you very much for your answers.

    Best regards

I'm with EA fiber broadband, I have a filter so my vdsl cable plug goes directly from the outlet to my grey dsl port on the modem/router. I have confirmed my username and password work my ISP but I can't the internet, any help would be great.

    Hello DarrenM,
After reading a few threads, I saw that the firmware was a common thing with netgear, so I installed the latest version and it works fine now.
    Thank you so much advice.

  • Nighthawk R7000 stopped working after 4 months

My Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi R5700 model stopped working suddenly after only four months. I went through all the troubleshooting steps in the manual, but I still get the amber lights which, according to the manual, indicate that the router is not working properly. It was working fine before yesterday. It's quite frustrating that all of our devices, including our printer and the TV programs, such as Netflix etc. rely on the wireless. And if I want to use all my data on my phone our House is pretty much dead in the water. My old modem took more than 4 years it's just simply unacceptable. Has anyone else had problems with this model? And did you have to replace or was there some kind of fix

There will missed the point on the question of 4 years - which was the modem being replaced, but it lasted 4 years. It is totally not helpful to comment. What was useful was my son - an IT Director for a school system in MN. He diagnosed and repaired it - works well... the first two replies, thank you!

  • ORBI replace DSL Modem and router Nighthawk?

I have a Nighthawk AC1900 R7000 router and a Netgear DM111PSPv2 Modem and I was wondering if the system ORBI would replace both of them and give me greater coverage. Anyone?

Thanks for the reply. Think I'll stick to what I have.

  • White LED of Ethernet to the router flashes constantly (to about 5 flashes per second)

The Internet on my router Netgear (R7000 Nighthawk, AC1900) white LED flashes constantly (about 5 times per second), and it is originally the link on my modem light blinks constantly. All started about four days ago. I thought that my modem was defective, but I spoke with my ISP technical support who said it was the router that has been at the origin of the modem LED blink. I unplugged the power supply to the router, but when I plugged it in the problem has not been resolved. I also reset the router (using the reset on the back of the router) but that has not solved the problem. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

  • Bad connection to laptops only

I have a Nighthawk AC1900 router a few months back. Everything has worked great so far. Laptops in the House have lost connection with it. We came back for a short period while after I turned off the router and then restarted, but it loses then in a few minutes. IPad and mobile are connected as usual without problem.

Is this a known problem with a known solution? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. In fact, it is now ok. I have reset the router which was then also updated and implemented again that fixed the problem with one of the laptops. The other laptop was fixed by quenching with its network setting after resetting the router.

Now, I just hope that this weird problem does not return. : )

  • R6200 caps than ethernet wired 200 Mbps of download speed

I recently updated my home ISP service in the service of Time Warner 300mbps. If I make a wired connection to the modem cable from the ISP, I can reach the speed of 300mbps advertised, so I get what I pay for my provider.

However, when I connect the same PC (cable) to the R6200, the download speed is capped at 200 Mbps. This suggests that the question is the R6200 (I'm just the fact to unplug and plug the cable even in another device located a few feet farther).

After 6 weeks, I've been on R6200 manual and parameters and cannot determine if there is a configuration setting, that I need to address, or if there is simply a limitation inherent in the R6200 who is covering my supposed to 200 Mbps gigabit speed I'm not also find in the documentation (or I found something obvious in the research of the community of Netgear).

Other facts: confirmed I have the latest firmware on the R6200 (V1.0.1.56_1.0.43). Computer is a Dell Windows 10 with gigabit ethernet support (16 GB of memory, Intel i7, etc.). While I'm guessing that this is within the parameters of the R6200, I should not deny the fact that it may have something to do with the handshake between the cable modem and the R6200, to complete the cable modem is a ubee.

If someone has had this problem and they solved? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I tried all these things before posting. (I could do worse, but never better than 200 Mbps when it should have been 300mbps.) In recent days, I have been plagued by intermittent Internet outages. The R6200 ended up being at fault, apparently because he didn't want unreliable stay connected. I finally replaced with a R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 and I am happy to say that I get the full the R7000 300mbps. My problem is solved in this regard, although I wasn't expecting to have to replace the R6200.

  • Question about lights LED R7000

Question about this quote from the Manual: "when the router is turned on, the light during approximately 10 seconds and then turn. If all lights lit, this indicates a fault in the router"my router lights LED is turned off. Are they supposed to? I discovered how manually to disable using genius. NETGEAR Nighthawk AC1900 is defective?

I think the manual means just that at first they all turn on, then off for a few seconds. LED lights depending on what services are available.

The power light should stay lit. Port LAN LED come on if a device is connected the WiFi LED (Amber on white, 100 M, 1000 m), are we if the radios are turned on. The Wan or the internet LED lights up if there is a connection to the internet. Some of them you can turn off via the user interface, but it is handy to have on so that you know the status.

It looks like your router working normally.

  • BlackBerry Passport BB Passport - poor WIFI connection

    Nice day!

I recently bought a passport of Arab Emirates BB UNITED. Service provider is Dug the device automatically updgraded OS for 10.3.1.1565 of the original version. However, both versions offer bad WIFI connection at home. When he is in the office, free WIFI is great! Both routers are DLink. I live in a studio, while the desktop is a good 3 times the size of my plate. How is it that the WIFI connection in the office is great, while at home barely connects on my device? I have no problems with connecting devices android and apple for the WIFI at home (including the smart TV and laptop i5). The WIFI problem is only with the passport of BB. The signal strength for the mobile network is ok. No problems with calls or mobile data connection.

Can you please help and advise?

    Thanks in advance!

    What router are you using?

I had the problem with some older routers at the office and I replaced with a

Nighthawk AC1900 dual band wifi (R7000) NETGEAR Gigabit router

now the whole place can see wifi as before when it was uneven with the old unit

  • Nighthawk R7000 AC1900 Smart WiFi router prevents access to Internet

Yesterday morning I lost the internet connection. After a day of trying to solve the problem, it has been determined that the Nighthawk is not only not allowing Internet access, but it stops it completely.

If I plug the computer directly into the modem provided by Midco, I get a perfect connection.

The minute I try to access Netgear genius to solve the problem, I lose the internet connection.

If I try to use the Wi - Fi connection, instead of cable, I lose the internet connection.

If I connect the modem to the router and the router to the computer, I lose the internet connection.

My router $ 199 is barely 6 months. The cables are in good condition. Of course, it would start to have problems after the free 90-day warranty/help from Netgear.

Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

After that four days back with the company support Internet technology, they kept swearing that the router has gone bad. I went out and bought a new one, and it is same thing. They said they would have to call a technician to come to the House because they didn't know that their modem is not the problem since I could not in direct line with the modem to the computer. On a whim, I went out and bought a new modem, plugged into the router and the ethernet socket worked perfectly. If it turns out that something was going on with their router where it would not go to the modem to the router to the computer. When I tried this way, with the old modem, both the old and new router would not recognize the cable from the modem to the router, any cable, we used. But the new modem with router old and new work took over the old modem to the company and they told me there might be a short circuit in the modem, otherwise they cannot explain why the problem happening.
