I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Vista Home Version that was working fine until recently. Now, whenever I try to open a file or use whatever it is, it seems stuck with the ROAR - once an hourglass on the old computer - and nothing happens. The only way I can get out of everything I tried to do is to turn off and restart. Next, I get the message that he has was not shut down normally, etc., and it takes forever to get up. Then the whole again. I really want to this time just download all my files on an external hard drive so I can get a new computer, but it will not let me even copy / paste a single file without getting bogged down. I set up a wireless about a week ago and have done with the following security features: WEP, activate only certain MAC address to connect and disabled to broadcast the SSID.  I was able to use it very well with my Mac computer using the airport, but when I tried to connect my roommates, a dell inspiron 1525 with vista computer, it can not connect.  I can locate the network but when I try to connect to the network, I get a message saying that for a Windows cannot connect to the network and that the wireless link has failed for unknown reasons.  He then said to contact your administrator, but it's me.  I have a basic knowledge of computers just enough to be dangerous and basically know what I'm going along.  If anyone has any advice for me, my roommate and I'll be very grateful.

Too bad.  Apparently, I got the wrong MAC address.  I am now connected.

I have an inspiron 1525 with Vista installed on it.  If I leave my computer be for about 30 minutes then it freezes.  Today, I've been using Microsoft Word and again once it froze while I was in the middle of a project.  I used a registry cleaner from the Microsoft One Care and the problem still persists.  I am currently in safe mode now and it still froze, but I'll let it be by itself and see if it freezes or not.  I don't know what I have to do.  Is - it there anyway anyone can help me out here and point me in the right direction?

    Hello Mike,.

As a general rule, when you run a computer in Mode safe the suspect will be software or a driver that is used for a specific part of the material. Have you tried a boot clean and troubleshooting session with your machine to determine the program or driver that could be the cause of the problem? Instructions are below that describes this process. Let us know if that helps.

  • Turn off the tap to click on Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista

Can someone tell me how to disable "tap to click" on the touchpad of my laptop?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525, running Windows Vista.  It's the standard touchpad I mind, it has not been upgraded.

Other forums have suggested to go to the control panel > hardware and sound > mouse, but once I'm there, I only "buttons," "Pointers," "Pointer Options" and "hardware".  There is no option to disable "Tap to click" referred to one of them.

I've updated all the drivers - Windows tells me I have the latest version, if this doesn't fix the problem.

My hands are too big to type without hitting the touchpad!  So frustrating.  I accidentally moved my slider three times during the composition of this post.  Someone help me please!  That's four times now.

    I thought about it!

Under computer > C: > drivers > entry > R176423, I ran DPInst.  He installed the Dell Touchpad option in my taskbar to bottom left.  After the reboot, I was able to open a more in-depth version of my touchpad, where I could uncheck "Tap to click".  _ Yes!

Thanks for all your help, man.  I really appreciate it.  It's really a positive manifestation of the human condition when the volunteers their expertise selflessly to help others.  Keep up the good work, and I hope that this thread will stay up to help someone else in the future.

  • Dell Inspiron 1525 Windows Vista - limited network connectivity - nointernet

    Hello

I am facing problem with my Dell Inspiron laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium32bit.

Everything worked well, recently, I deleted a malware windows security databases, after that the display of the network connection is still limited to connectivity, for all types of connections, Ethernet, WiFi, etc. USB tethering. There is no problem with the router. I have hv checked with many links to work.

    I tried following:
    Uninstalling the essential security program
Turn off turn on network interface.
netsh Winsock reset & other commands.
    Uninstalling the network drivers.
    remove entries of regedit Winsock.
    Reinstall the drivers.
    SFC /scannon running
    Try the windows diagnostic tool
    Disabling ipv6.

But after all this the problem persists. In the analysis of sfc logs, CBS.log it displays some error messages such as impossible repair Winsock-core. Looks like the Winsock is corrupt. I tried to uninstall the drivers, removal of winscock entered into regedit and then adding them. Nothing helps. I can't find the Winsock drivers for download.

Can you please help me how I can fix it. Please note that no internet connection established is working with the system. That's why I need to copy all of the files required through memory external strorage.

    Thank you very much

Yes, I did the re-installation of Windows Vista using the CD of the OS that came with the computer installed & portable device using the driver CD drivers. Now the network connectivity works great!

Although I backed up my data it is not necessary that the relocation is not format my drive. He copied old 'windows folder to a windows old folder names"and then all the remaining files, we kept intact.
