do I have to activate each installation through vlm

That's what I did
* I installed NI VLM 2.0 on our license server
* I created several installations of network (for LV 80, 80 CVI)
* Verified everything worked well, and it was
* I installed networkinstallversions of LV80 and CVI 80 on workstation has
* It recorded fine on our license server and it activated nice through the NOR
* While I captured this situation to help install HP fast
* Fast installation made a huge (1.4 GB) install the file

Now,.

When I install this file on workstation B the following things occurs:
* On starting the program (BT or CVI) I wonder once to activate the product, even if it has already been activated in the first place, before capture using quick installation.
* There is no request on the screen NI VLM 2.0 on the license server.

After activation, everything works fine.

I need to distribute this software to almost every computer in our school. My questions are:
* What can I do to stop each distribution to activate
* should I worry if the computer, LV or CVI does NOT appear on-screen NI VLM 2.0?

Thanks, I continue his tests, there will be more questions in the next few days (smile).

I have not used the license server, but some general information here on the activation of LabVIEW works.

I know that the license file generated after you enable it is kept in a directory apart from the main directory of LabVIEW and does not part of installing LabVIEW.
(... Instruments\Shared\License national Manager\Licenses)

This is probably why your quick installation did not work as expected.

Another reason is that each license file is linked to a specific machine with an ID of machine generated for each machine. If a license for a machine file does not work on others, even if you have a campus license agreement.

You're probably better off in support OR leave its worked.

Good luck.
