Do I need a dedicated video card to run a Setup dual monitor with HP 700-327c?

Recently replaced an old HP Desktop with the envy of 700 running Windows 7 Professional.

Old facility had a Setup to dual monitor with a video card that had two monitors - one HDMI and a DVI connectors.  The standard connectors on the old PC were VGA and DVI, but both have been capped to prevent use.

I wanted to set up monitors on this new PC to do the same thing and wanted to know if a video card with the two input connectors dedicated was the best set-up or simply use a mute adapter for VGA or DVI on the new PC ports.  The new PC has two video connectors standard - one VGA and one DVI currently.

FYI: Using an Intel i7-4770 with 16 GB of RAM and a video card using an Intel HD Graphics 4600.

An update as promised - not a problem - used another cord with the right connector and setting up monitors using Windows device settings and they work perfectly.  No need for a separate or higher video card as I am not in the game application for video features.  Thanks BH.

    Hi @nextor ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked at your question about your Notebook of 17-f208nx HP Pavilion Notebook and concerns regarding the graphics not to be seen in the BIOS. That it is up to your motherboard, it is usually on the Advanced tab. If it is not listed in the BIOS means that you will not be able to change the options.

    Thank you.

Also, I was looking for some video cards and I found some but I would like some opinions on them. And I would like to know if they're going to run Aero.

  • Update video card to run the Sims 3

I'm on a Dell Latitude D505 and need to update my video card to run the sims 3.  I have no idea how to proceed.  Is this somehting that I can download?

There are hundreds of different video cards available in stores and online, such as bestbuy.com tigerdirect.com newegg.com computer.   I also think that Wal-Mart may have a couple of them in their computer section...

few cards have their own memory and processor, which is dedicated solely to the graphics processing.   These cards help the central processor (cpu) on the motherboard by managing complex graphics data.

the cards come in different degrees of power and style and price.  In addition, they are made to conform to the specific version of the operating system.  In addition, the game itself has requirements as well.   but in general, a good video card works for many games.

to install a card, you will need to disconnect the computer from the power source and then open the side panel.   the card mother aura of slot machines, where these kinds of cards integrated.

However, motherboards equipped with different styles slot and video cards are manufacturerd with differring styles to fit these slots.

you will need to see again you, manual of the computer or online to see what style of slots has the motherboard, then get a proper map style that corresponds to this.

also, since their CDs and cards is manufactured in the past, it is necessary to visit the homesite maps to download its latest software and drivers after installing the card.

Although the above seems a bit complex.  It's pretty easy.

the hardest part is deciding which card to buy.  the easiest part is then plugged into the motherboard.

  • Need help updating video card!

    Hello

I bought a HP last year: AMD Athon 64 Quad Core

    8 GB Ram

    ATI Radeon 4200 graphics card

    POWER 250W

However, the video card works well with some of the new software that we have recently added this season holiday, I'm looking to upgrade the machine. After researching on the forums, it seems that the HD6870 is a solid upgrade at a reasonable price, but PS the250W is a matter of concern.

    My questions are:

    (1) can I buy any power supply (looking Coolmaster 460W PSU)

    (2) with the new power supply, is that all I need to upgrade the video card and

    (3) I just want to confirm that the HD6870 is a compatible video card that will work with my machine and the new PSU

    Thanks in advance.

    Most of the HD 6870 cards I Iooked at having these requirements;

■PCI Express® based PC is required with a X 16 channel available on the motherboard graphics slot.
■2X75 Watt 6 pin PCI Express power connector is required.
■Certified-power supplies are recommended. Please refer to: http://support.amd.com/us/certified/power-supplies/Pages/listing.aspx
■500 Watt Power Supply is necessary.

    (1) Yes, you can buy any power supply, but he needs 500 watts or more, and fit into the case without blocking the other components. A few favorites forum are Corsair CX500, or CX600.

    (2) who should be all you need.

    (3) the HD 6870 should work on your system with a new 500 watts or PSU. However, if you provide the model number or product number, we could check the specifications of your computer to better confirm that this is the case.

  • How and where can need to update video card, so that will support WDDM - I get updates?

I have windows Vista Premium - I don't know if it's a 32-bit or 64-bit. I need to upgrade the video card or update the driver; maybe both. Where should I go to access the update so that I can fully enjoy Microsoft Media Center.

You need to update the video card driver (if an update exists) from the web site of the manufacturer of the video card (support and/or driver download section of their web page.)

First of all understand what architecture of Windows Vista you are using: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/32-bit-and-64-bit-Windows-frequently-asked-questions

Second figure on what video card, you have to download, install and run the Belarc Advisor free tool and view in his section of the display.  There are several other ways - but I think the more information you can get right now - the better.  I would like to print the results and store your documentation system, system software and backups in a safe place

Third - visit the manufacturer's Web site for drivers for the make and model of video card you have.

I recently received an ALIENWARE17 and whenever I run the analysis of the system, the two test equipment video card always displays the same message: 'cannot run. Can someone help me please to identify why this is happening and if it means that the system is not detecting? or even a bigger problem?

    • Open support Assist
    • Click Checkup
    • Click perform custom analysis
    • Click on the Nvidia GTX 980 M card
    • Select stress Test

  • How can I see the information on a dedicated video card?

    Hey guys,.

I have a laptop dv6tqe with a 1 GB GDDR5 Radeon HD 6770 M, which has a switchable graphics. the simplified ATI provided with the laptop Control Panel has all the 3D options for the process that I have chosen to activate the 'high performance' mode to use the dedicated GPU. The latest games play fine without delay, however when I shoot upward of dxdiag or any other vid collection card information software the 6770M does not appear. Only Radeon integrated graphics card running in power saving mode, even show when im all current laptop running with the high performance parameters. Is it possible to go back to information on the dedicated GPU?

You can install Speccy below the link which is a 3rd third party tool and find this info

    http://www.Piriform.com/Speccy

    OR

You can go to the BIOS and find this info as well. In order to load BIOS turn OFF the laptop and after power ON, keep pressing F10 to load the BIOS of the laptop screen and check system information.

  • Upgrading the video card and power supply, these will work with my system?

Hello, I am wanting to update my graphics card as my current one is finally fall behind on current games, BF3 beta is a restless nighmare and BC2 must be smooth running low (ick). I was satisfied with the weaker graphics for now, but its time for an upgrade. In any case, I think I have my selected updates and I just want to confirm that they will work with my computer until I pull the trigger. My current equipment:

    8.00 GB RAM DDR3

    Vista 64-bit

Creative Sound Blaster X - Fi Audio Xrteme

1.5 GB NVIDEA GeForce GT230 [DVI, HDMI, VGA]

I plan on upgrading the graphics card on an Asus NVIDEA GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi)

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814121446

And the power of a passionate Corsair 850W 80 + CERT (I know this is perhaps an exaggeration, but I can update to motherboards in the future to run two SLI cards and do not want to upgrade again)

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=17-139-009&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&PageSize=10&PUR...

I removed the side panel to check the dimensions of the new card and it looks like it fits. The only thing that could be a problem of release the cables SATA for the hard drive and hard drive because they are both plugged into the two slots, I don't think that the two superiors would be no problem at all. Depending on the thickness of the new card is also, it may be very close to the sound card that is spaced only a slit above the graphics card. I have another location available PCIe x 1 go back one level more that I should be able to plug the sound card in if there is no problem.

My question is that these two will be compatible with my system? (physical limitations side)

Also, can I change which SATA plug the hard drive and disc plug in, without having to reformat? Is it just unplug and plug in the new housing? (setting power off + unplugged of course) Basically passing SATA0 and SATA1, SATA2, and SATA3. Or do need to be filled in order? (0 then 1 then 2, etc...)

Finally, If I can't move the sound of a standard card, do I need to do anything other than the physically move when the computer is turned off and unplugged?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

    John

    jkalbin,

You have thought through all scenerios. Move the sound card does not any problems. The hard drive should stay in header SATA 0.

  • Do need me a graphics card to run Photoshop elements 14? Or is the largest CPU/RAM?

A cheap card will do, if that's all that I need.

My computer currently has a core i-3, and 6 GB of ram.

The other computer I have has an I-5 and 8 GB of ram.

The two processes running on an SSD, with no graphics card installed (graphics card intel only)

As far as I know, you need not more than graphics Intel in the elements. Graphics cards are used in Photoshop or in Lightroom's develop module, but they can be disabled in case of problems, as I understand it, does not make them unnecessary. The best solution would be to test yourself with a trial version of the software.

Generally, users with SSDS also have another internal drive. The SSD is ideal for the operating system and programs, but personal data is better on a standard player. For better performance in the elements, it is recommended to put your work on another conventional internal disk drive. Your library on another drive internal, even if this works fine on an external drive. You have the choice to keep your catalog on the SSD or other readers, I don't think it means a lot.

Anyway, in your case, you probably want to share your library and catalogs with your two computers. The best solution is to store the catalogs both the library (which could become very large) alternately shared external disk. I guess you can not easily install a second conventional drive in a laptop, but for a desktop computer, which should be simple and inexpensive; You can use it to drive to work and, possibly, backups or folders synchronized.
