Do I need to install the important updates or recommended?
Original title: HP Pavilion Elite HPE210
I have reinstalled Windows 7 on this desktop computer. Do I need to install the important updates or recommended? I g6 Pavilion laptop which I reinstalled windows 7 same question but I don't update windows drivers. Who updates the drivers then?
Yes, of course, you must do all the Important Windows updates to bring your computer up-to-date and secure. In fact, most of these updates are patches to fix security vulnerabilities.
Optional updates are another matter. In fact, most of them is not good for your computer. You need a source very knowledgeable information to guide you to choose those.
Regarding the drivers,.
Almost without exception, your ONLY source of drivers for your computer are on the HP support web site. Windows Update will sometimes offer driver updates that mostly (but not always) are OK, but you should prefer the HP as your source.
Don't get caught up in a frenzy more updates driver. In practice, they rarely need to be looked at and then only if there is a specific problem to solve.
NEVER, use sites to update driver on the internet. They are virtually all the two sources of infection and/or updates bad and bad.

Do I need to install the Office updates if Office is not installed?
original title: Microsoft Office updates
My computer came with a free trial of Microsoft Office, but I never used, nor do I purchase and install the program. When it comes to install updates, it shows the important updates for office. What I have to install these? If I don't have the actual program and install these updates, how will this affect my computer?
If you use Office never, did not buy Office and has not installed the program, then why not delete the free trial of Microsoft Office, then this way you not up-to-date annoy you.

Hello
· What happens when you try to install updates (do you get the error messages)?
· What version of Windows is installed on your computer?
If you are using Windows 7, you can run the troubleshooter window update and check if that helps you. To run the troubleshooter, follow the link below.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Update-Troubleshooter
Alternatively, you can configure the computer to clean the start State and check if a third party application is in conflict with the installation process. To configure the computer to clean boot state follow the link below.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Note: When you are finished troubleshooting, follow the last step in section to start on normal startup.

Why do I need to install the SP63801 update?
HP Pavilion dv7, Windows 7, 64-bit, which is about a month.
Someone can explain to me in layman's term what is this update and why do I need the WinFlash utility updated to locally Flash the system BIOS (ROM)? (I don't even know what it means, I just copied what is in the box to support assistant) I read some other info online that suggests if I'm not having problems of computer it is perhaps not necessary to install the update.
I'm suspicious because I recently installed an update of the audio driver from the HP website, that completely invalidates my computer and I had to do a system restore.
Hello
Suppliers of hardware and software ALWAYS release fixes, patches, updates... to correct, improve their products. But in the COMPUTER environment, fix a bug can introduce another bug and users must believe the sellers because they release the source/code. In this case, the utility can improve the process, as it clearly says:

Do I need to install the optional updates?
I never downloaded Realtek, silverlight, powershell or windows live essentials. I need to download for future use? Thanks for any help. I have windows vista service pk2, 32-bit.
You don't have to install optional updates. They will be there if you have a need for them in the future.
Siliverlight will probably nag you from time to time on Web sites, you can study the Realtek with the manufacturer's website to see if you really need (but it's optional), the rest just keep them if you wish or find a need for them later you can install then.
