Do I need to uninstall it before installing a ps/2 compatible mouse

Hello

should I uninstall ps/2 compatible mouse? prior to installation you recommended

First a little advice.  If something is not broken, do not fix it.  You say something tells you that your mouse driver was obsolete, but it was the work of the mouse?  If it was, it was a mistake to fool with the driver.

In regards to your PS/2 mouse, is what brand?  The Synaptics driver sounds to me that it would be for your touchpad, not your mouse.  Your touchpad works?  Worst case, you can buy a USB mouse and use it.  You can buy these for as little as $4.

If you need to come back before you begin the update of drivers, you should study the system restore back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

When you got your system back as you, I invite you to buy an external hard drive, and a good backup 3rd party program. You can configure it to automatically do everything in time and frequency of your choice. 1.5 TB external hard drives is approximately $90 these days and a very good FREE backup program corresponds to the Easeus todo backup free of charge that you can download from

http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/free-backup-software.htm . Who can make you save a lot of time and frustration, the next time something like this happens. Sooner or later, it happens to all computers for one reason or another.

Good luck.

I have a Vista 64 bit and I update to Win 7 next month.  So I'll have to re - install.  During this re - install, same question, do I have to re - install CS4, 5, 5.5 and 6 or can I just install CS6.  CS5, 5.5 and 6 are updated.

Thanks for a quick reply :)

It's your decision, you can have or remove them, CS6 installation does not require any previous version already installed, just the serial number of the previous version as o if purchased an upgrade.

  • do I need to uninstall Chrome before you install Firefox?

don't know how or if Chrome will interfere with Firefox. I have used Chrome for years but want to switch to Firefox by recommendation of my daughter. Thank you.

You don't need to uninstall chrome if you have enough storage. This will not affect your browsing with Firefox. Even if you want, you can import your settings and favorites of Chrome that you have used for a long time.
You can see the article getting started with Firefox – an overview of the main features and the import bookmarks and the personal data from another browser. Welcome to Firefox!

But having said that it will not affect your browsing with Firefox, Chrome silently installs an audio headphones and start when you start your computer, then you can uninstall it if you care about your privacy.

  • Uninstall CC before installing standalone disc LR6?

I currently have the trial version of Lightroom CC.  Should I uninstall before installing standalone disc LR6?

    Hi pbwindrush,

Yes, that would be a good practice first to remove the trial version of Lightroom CC and the both creative cloud desktop application if you have no other creative cloud application to use.

After that, you can install Lightroom 6 either from disk or the below mentioned link:

  • Do you need to uninstall MSE before the upgrade to Windows 7?

I am upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium from XP, uninstall MSE for the upgrade?

There is no place in upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7, so disabling or uninstalling, so be it, you will need to do a custom installation.

    The upgrade to Windows XP?

Please read these instructions carefully and completely before you begin installing Windows 7: there are important steps that you must follow to upgrade your PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 in order to preserve your files and settings.

Before you begin, you'll need to backup all your data to an external storage device, and you will need all the installation discs for the programs that you want to keep. Please make sure that you have an external hard drive (see details below).

More detailed instructions are available at windows.microsoft.com/upgrade-windows-xp. Here are the basic steps.

    1. start Windows Upgrade Advisor (windows.microsoft.com/upgradeadvisor) to see if there are known issues that may affect the installation and the question of whether you should install the version of 32 or 64 bit Windows 7.

2 back up your files and settings on an external hard drive using Windows Easy Transfer (windows.microsoft.com/windows-easy-transfer). If you do not have an external hard drive, you will not be able to use Windows Easy Transfer. Alternatively, you can copy the files you want to keep on a USB stick, CD or DVD.

    3. you will need to manually reinstall your programs, such as Microsoft Office, after I installed Windows 7. Gather the installation for your programs and all partner/license product key discs. You may be able to download programs from the Internet. For example, Windows Live Messenger can be installed from the download.live.com/messenger.

    4. Insert the Windows 7 DVD in your PC. When asked "which type of installation you want. Click on "Custom (advanced)."

    5. when Windows 7 is installed, use Windows Easy Transfer to restore your files and settings.

If you are not comfortable Windows 7 installation, check with a local retail or the services of the PC company store to see if they offer upgrade services.

    Hello

Windows 7 upgrade advisor may lead to uninstall some programs because it is useful to search for potential issues with your computer's hardware, devices, or programs that might affect installing Windows 7. Once completed the installation of Windows 7, you can go ahead and reinstall the software.

I tried to format it or get rid of counterfeit copy cannot do it either. I'm stuck someone can give me some advice?

    windymane

    Hello

OEM Windows XP Pro copy you purchased, it was the manufacturer of your computer? If this isn't the case, then that does not work, please note that software OEM works with the computer on which it was delivered with.

In this case, please contact Acer support to assist you in the installation, they may have a way to force the installation of Windows on your new drive. :-)
